Composite shims then seal with clear silicone plaster is bad idea to much moisture in a bath

I used one of those twist and set 3" toilet flange because I didn't want to cut anything. Besides I believe my waste pipe is copper not ABS or PVC. The 3" twist and set flange perfectly sealed because of the rubber seal. Why is that the wrong way to do it just curious.

What happens if you don't have a blow torch

Man my wingnut is seized and no clearance to sawzaw bolt off. My only thought left is to rip out rubber gaskets for clearance and hope the tank and bowl porcelain on porcelain doesn't hit againest them selves....

I'm so confused. I don't see where you connected the new lines to the water supply??? You cut off the old copper supply lines. Should we assume you connected to the water supply? If so, how did you do that?

Does it matter if we have a quarter -turn shut off valve? Does it still have similar inside parts?

It is a LOT easier if you take a Phillips head screwdriver and loosen the top set screw. It isn’t rocket science I am a nuclear physicist!

95% of the toilet flange installs I see are installed on the subfloor and every plumber says to install it on top of the finished floor. I don’t get it.

Replacing the flapper on a running toilet offers two revelations. The first is that the old flapper was worn out and the new flapper fixed your running toilet. The second is after putting a new flapper and the toilet is still running, then you know the toilet fill valve is bad and needs to be replaced.

It also might be a good idea to have a stop valve installed inside the house near where the outside faucet is. That way you can shut the water supply off to the outside faucet during the winter. And it'll also prevent someone from turning on your outside faucet when you're out of town without having to shut the water off to the whole house.

If I didn’t know better I’d agree this is a bad idea . Set 3 toilets 38 years ago using a plaster bed. Not a one of them came loose,leaked or anything bad. Have done it several times more in other properties and all is well.

What do you do, if you have a shower head that’s turned on by a faucet rather than at the spout? I’ve got 3 separate faucets one for hot one for cold and one to turn on the shower

Twist-N-Set toilet flange should work. It shouldn't be just floating in there, the gasket that expands upon twisting creates the seal. It says it can repair PVC, ABS, and cast iron pipes.
