Never knew about that lance corporal cape, I can’t believe my time in the marine corp I never seen anyone do that once. That is just genius and now I’m looking to order a woobie
Armynavyoutdoors.com
All flash and no substance. The industry is its own worst enemy at times. Imagine a world where enough guns get ganked from cars that a massive lawsuit and some activist judge ends "We the People" as a brand and then, new caselaw is established that is used to allow municipalitites to blanket ban people from carrying in their vehicles. And before you say it can't happen... look at the history of antigun legislation and see where those cases all originate from.
Good review Sam.
@@SOEtacticalgear thank you! I really enjoy taking a piece of gear, trying to understanding the why behind the design, and then adapting the gear to my purpose even if that wasn’t the intended purpose.
And the newer version of malice clips is way easier to put on and take off.
@@SOEtacticalgear absolutely

@@samrussell0331 would have been cool
These people buy plastic belt clip holsters so they can impress their friends with the cool design. "It's really comfortable." Yeah, because you probably never carry it. Gear centered, indoor box range people.
💯
I need to get a couple of those 1 quart canteen pouches.
@@jefferydoty5141 as of yesterday, they have OD green or OD/black in stock right now. Probably won’t last long. Link in the description.
If he shows up dressed exactly like this I surrender.
This is how I would likely respond to an issue on my property. I will accept your surrender on my back porch.
Will it fit a canteen with cup and stove? I like the old molle pouch because it isn't very rigid, more of a loose bag, so you can stuff shit in and still get it out easy, easier than a more rigid pouch like those eagle v2 pouches. If not, still a badass pouch (those side pouches look much more usable than the old side pouches). I'll probably end up getting one (or 2) anyways to test it out, or just to support soe.
A canteen, canteen cup, and Esbit stove will all fit just fine. Very spacious.
The Velcro on the pouch is a great addition to that pouch!
Yeah, I’m just generally anti-Velcro because of the noise. But the design and construction from SOE is unbeatable.
Good short brother!
Thank you! This was some practice for a speech I’m giving next weekend at the Midwest Preparedness Project festival near Lawrence, Kansas
Well that answers the question I needed answered. *adds to cart*

@samrussell0331 yes. I avoided those things like the plague in favor of standard nylon mollee.

Wish truspec made the in m81 woodland, at least we still get it in the tru.
I’m looking at getting the raid shirt from Helikon-Tex. They have a few more patterns you can choose from.
Got two on order.
Awesome
Going in depth into obscure pieces of kit doesn't apply to 99% of the audience at that show. They want to walk away with applicable knowledge they can use, not a a gear review. Just my 2 cents...
I’m mostly trying to get people think about how that should be prepared to carry a fighting load. Could be important again.
Good video brother, thanks for the content. I just got a grayl couple of weeks ago also.
Badass
Well done sir👍👍👍
@@theartist872 thank you
I agree with you on the velcro pouches being a step backwards on the SOE pouch. I asked John on a live if we could get a version with molle on the sides instead. He didn't seem interested. He said it's because the old design (the 1 QT Canteen Cover) had molle and he never saw anyone use that molle. I would argue that the old design was more purpose built for a canteen rather than multipurpose like the new design. In other words, the old design was simply smaller and not as deep front-to-back; so the molle on the old version was really mostly front facing rather than there being a left and right side. I own two of the old design, and I agree with his observations; I don't have any desire to attach anything to that front facing molle. However, I personally see this new design as more like a CQB/Patrol/Rallyman mag pouch, so why not treat it like that? Have one option with at least a single column of molle on the sides and another option with pistol mag pouches (with buckles) on the sides. It's so close to being the only canteen and general purpose pouch I'll ever buy, but I just can't get behind the velcro pouches. I couldn't say all of this on that live due to the more fast-paced nature and limited word count. I also thought I was alone in this thinking, but maybe I'm not after watching this video. Perhaps I should send an email with this text and a subject line of "Constructive Criticism on the 1QT Canteen Pouch Improved". Great video, sir. Looking forward to seeing more.
FYI its so youtube doesnt have ppl intentionally un alive themselfs on stream so if someone picks up a gun rather than just having it displayed than they will shut it down before it hypothetically escalates
Then they should shut down streams that contain the tops of tall buildings, bridges, people driving cars, knives, any medication…..
1st Battalion, 21st Infantry, 24th Infantry Division all arrived on July 1st 1950 from the United States Army. The US Army made up the largest ground forces during the Korean War 1950-53. Facts over crayons ya Neanderthal looking dude
My Grandpa was in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and got frostbite. I respect marines but cmon man the Army has been involved in everything yes even fighting in the pacific theater in WW2 who taught you history?
I used some of those Brit pouches way back in the day. Had one on my LBE belt as a catch all and another I was able to attach to my Alice ruck. Loved the silent closure
Going from that to all Velcro was a technological step backward
An idea: No one makes an updated 2 quart canteen for all those cheap 2 quart covers. I have no idea how to get that started but that's my idea. Thanks for the video.
I see a shot shell pouch 😮
Yep. It would work great for that too
