Quickjack 7000SLX... Reviewing them after 1 1/2yrs of use. PROs & CONs
I know this old but thank you man! I just started this install today on my 2003 1500. Found a Dorman upper part and some other Chinese brand that arrived pre broken. So I got a dash skin brand cover to keep that part together. And it is a pain in the ass.
Awesome! Cracked dashes suck.
You just saved me and my son $900.00 If they ever ban TH-cam. I will go broke form the money that I save on self-repair videos. I wonder home much money that dealerships have loss because of TH-cam. I myself have saved a many thousand dollars over the years.
@@SEEKERONE1 That’s awesome. Glad my video helped out.
How’s it held up? Thinking of getting just the carbon bar itself just for my daily.
Well… car has been completed for track use but it has yet to make it to the track. I really can’t give you a solid answer on it, sorry. No promises but I will try to give an update on it. Just don’t know when is the only thing. It was a nice visual rear upper brace upgrade.
There's always different ways to solve a problem and there are few very good ideas on this video that might be helpful. However, here in Europe we tackle (including me currently) this issue slightly different. What I really don't like here is that this way raises the boot floor quite a lot leaving all the hardware visible externally, making it impossible to use original boot carpets/liners without severe modification, also looks like it limits the ability installing half-cage, strut tower bracings etc later on if required (welded-in cup's diameter is clearly too small for cage installation on top that would have to use the same structural fitting points) without yet another severe modification on the things already done.. I prefer internal brace (hidden inside cavity) installation method that the internal PS design/SME brace provides paired with way bigger and robust Redish Motorsport reinforcement plate set. This alone would be more than enough for 99% of cases and does look factory, keeping the option for caging possibility without the need to redo what's done (SME internal bracing leaves the cup exits that are big enough to add cage piping on top)
I fully agree. This option is not my favorite because it sticks out like a soar thumb when looking in the trunk. I’ve installed many Vince Bar’s which are hiding in the trunk liner. Now, CMP has come out with a less bulky kit but I have yet to install one.
Where are you located? I'll just drop my car off so you can do it! You made it look tooo easy 😂😂😂
Clermont FL area, west of Orlando.
We rev up to 8,200rpm. Stock crank, rods, pistons. We were running an aluminum flywheel at first which started to come apart and install a lighten flywheel kit from ACT. Revving it all the out is hard on it for sure. The engine failed around 7rpm.
I know it's been a while but wow that's crazy. You didn't say much about rev limits or balance etc. I know a guy that swears that Aluminum fly are bad for these cranks, unless you have the VAC damper.... maybe. I have also heard that the OEM balancer should be replaced often 2-3 seasons if the engine is used in race. They also say above 8K RPM without alot of proofing is life robbing for this motor. Stunning break. Since the crank was involved I am betting there is weakness there unless it happened at the very top of the RPMs, although your theory is reasonable. There is a vid of guys in Aus. or NZ with a crank broke, maybe in a similar location, just with less damage
Hey how’s it going When it comes down to an oil pump did you go with a new Achilles one ? Also do you recommend putting new chain guides upper and lower and also a new timing chain tension ?
I reused my original oil pump. And yes, the chains and guides are not that must $ so I would replace them.
Thank you for the save! We are headed camping and were worried it was something worse with no time to take it to the shop.
That’s great! Just don’t forget to clean her out cause it will ruin the blower motor if the level gets too high.
G'day! I just got my Karbonius and just wanted to check if that dipstick relocate is still good? I did the same, seems like an easy job.
I was able to check the dipstick tube last year and all was good.
@@tekmotorsports4052 Thanks for your response brother! i did that to my 2013 and got bupkiss.
Sorry to hear that. Did the evap pan drain when you did it? How long did it last until it got clogged again?
i gave up and took it to a professional. he blew high pressure air through it and a gallon of water drained out.
@@mikeoneil5741 Let’s hope that the stuff that was suck in the drain tube breaks up.
I’ve cleaned mine out numerous times… any reason why it keeps filling up?? Thanks
I had another person with the same issue. I did not hear back to what was found but there must something in the evap pan cause it. May have to pull it out and inspect it to see what’s clogging it. I have yet to do that.
@@tekmotorsports4052 it’s nerve racking having to clean floor board everyday so mold don’t start growing and the sound of it hitting the fan… I’m out working on it now I will let you know
Same problem here. Keeps filling up. Shop vacd the drain plug 3 times already
@@MrDrewski808 If you have done it a few times already and it doesn’t clear the drain then there has to be something in the drain pan. At this moment you have to remove the evaporator to remove what the blockage. Even if you blow compressed air in the drain, it may not work. You can try it and see what happens.

Hi where to get these plates?
Practical Performance RnD off of FaceBook.
Please help how does fuel rail temperature sensor for 325tds operate?
Sorry but I haven’t dealt with the 325tds before.
Can you help me out on the ac recycle vent? It just won't close properly.
Sorry for the late reply as I read it and got side tracked and forgot to answer you. I’m not to sure on the vent. Have you been able to verify if it closes completely? Two things it could be that I can think of. 1 be the actuator for that door is bad, 2 could be the seal on the vent door came off or coming off and it leaves a gap to let area in/out.
Amazing job for an amazing car👌👌
Thank you.
Is that lift not bolted down??👀
Yep, that’s correct. I just make sure the post plates are flat on the floor before I fully raise it up. Also, I have moved it numerous times to maximize space in the garage.
If only your camera was as stable. Filmed on the titanic?! Only joking. Thanks for the vid. :) From Oz.
Yeah, had my 9yr old son hold the camera and thanks.
Nice little video, I’d be definitely up for these . More pro’s than cons. Me being me I’d be ordering some T45 tube have a couple of rams made and copying the design, correcting all the normal Chinese quality issues . Let’s face it us E36 owners would probably have to get the welder out to well the rotten jacking points anyway 😂. I would probably say with some additional bracing they could be individually used under the front crossmember and rear diff too . Nice colours, green and silver .👍😃
Thanks man. They have been great. I would like to make them where I can drive the car over them without damage. It’ll be nice not have to pull them out all the time. The car does stand out with the green.
What was the part number of the correct one seal?
Sorry but I don’t have it. I went to RAM dealer with vin to get correct part.
Awesome!!! Sounds like Mclaren F1 engine!
REally appreciate the long term and also track perspective on this. Thanks for making this!
How easy is it to access the fuel pump if needed? How loud is the seat delete panel rattle when driving?
It will be a pain. If you are thinking about, I would create a removal panel to access them. I didn’t cause I added to dual pump system before installing the delete panels. As for road noise, it’s a little loud but not bad at all.
just to be clear you said for this to work, you need to use e46 inner tie rods correct? im doing this rack on my 95 M3 and wanted to see which ones to order for a street? canyon car
See, you need the E46 inner tie rods. They have a breather hole to vent the rack. The E36 inner tie rods do not.
@@tekmotorsports4052 appreciate it brotha ty
Very helpful. Appreciate the measurements.
Thanks for posting!
Do you think I can fit a drag wheel setup in the rear?
It’s really going to depend on the size of wheel/rim and offset of wheel. What size are you thinking of?
@@tekmotorsports4052 honestly, 17x9 305/45. Offset is 35
@@OctaneAndAdrenalineYeah, that won’t fit the flares I installed on the M3. You’ll need a wider flare or go with a smaller tire width. Another option to raise the rear up which can give you a little more clearance. I have also seen some people adding a spacer between the flare and the chassis for a wider tires.
@@tekmotorsports4052 Would 15 x 10 275/50/15 work with the rear raised?
@@OctaneAndAdrenaline That should work while raising the if needed. The wheels in the M3 have a 25 offset so I think you should get them with 30 or higher offset just to make sure you don’t have to raise the car a lot. I have not installed this set up you’re asking about so not 100% sure.
What an amazing set up. As the car drives towards the camera you hear that cf csl box and as it drives away you then hear that aggressive exhaust. Just perfect!
I agree with all you said. I wish I could install them on my other M3’s.
how many mm did the flares add?
The front are about 25mm and the rears 30mm. We started with Hoosiers 275/40/17’s but changed to 275/36/17’s which gave more clearance to lower the car a little more.
Thanks so much for the video. Window stuck down, not fun on long drive to work on highway. Disassembled - those connectors are tricky. Window motor still good, spool still good, window moves up and down manually just fine, but makes loud noises when powered. Unsure exactly the problem but must be the regulator off track or something. Anyways got the window secured back up. This video was a lifesaver!
That’s awesome. Glad to hear it helped out.
Do you know what it was ours feels off track and makes the loud noise when trying to put back up. i have to pull on it will pressing the up button on both front windows. Just bought the car last week
@@damondill1911 I didn't feel confident taking off all the wiring to remove the entire door shield, so could not really get a good look inside there. Mine would not go up at all, and made the loud noise. My motor and spool seem fine, so something about the regulator track. I've just been leaving the window up, not ideal but best I can do until I have a professional look at it (probably Mazda dealer).
@@damondill1911 It does sound like the regulars are bad. This one made a clicking noise as the gear on the motor was bad. I would get the complete window regulator with motor just to make it easier on you. I did that for the first replacement which I still have as the regular was good, just had the plastic gear on the motor break a few teeth.
@@tekmotorsports4052 @damondill1911 So I had the Mazda dealer fix it yesterday. It was the motor gear. I think the motor itself was fine, just the gear was slipping.
I thought there was also a map sensor adaption to get the CSL intake manifold fitment
Yes, there’s a MAP sensor adapter that replaces a tube on the vacuum rail along side the fuel rail. Hope that’s what you are referring to.
@@tekmotorsports4052 thats it mate thank you!💪💪
Looks great!! Which rims and tyres?
17x8.5 (I forget the offset) Apex ARC8’s. They fit with rolling the rear fender edge and without flaring the rear quarter. Yokohama AO52’s.
I’ve been searching this topic for a two weeks and got nothing about replacing an existing CF until TH-cam recommended this. Exactly what I needed, thanks for creating this video! Was the previous roof Karbonius? It’s cool to see you remove it in one piece. My Vorsteiner roof has a ton of tiny little cracks all throughout the lacquer almost down to the weave, and now starting to leak water around the epoxy. Over 10 years in the sun! Karbonius replacement roof in the mail 👍
That’s great news, glad my video helped. It was a Karbonius roof that I replaced. I also had cracks but did not leak.

@@tekmotorsports4052 Yeah man the best BMW project ever , German V10 500 hp it would be so much fun
@idokwatcher2062 Somehow your comment/questions only show up my email and not as a comment here. Anyways… the MAF sensor plug was taped up neatly and zip tied with plug/pins facing the ground and tucked under the snorkel so there’s less of a chance for it to collect water. Always try to safe the harness. Another thing is that we bought an adapter for the IAT sensor so if we did decide to cut it, it wouldn’t be the OEM supplied connector.
Thank you. I wish the previous owner of mine bought plug and play harness. These cars are becoming so expensive, too expensive for such hack jobs they did.
@@idokwatcher2062 Ah man, really!?!? You’re spending a lot on the CSL intake, whats another $100 or so to do it right.

Replacing the gears in the window motor on the passenger front side door of my 2012 CX-9 for the second time. Those things are made so cheaply. Thanks for the tips.
Yep, they are cheaply made. Thanks for watching.
How wide is it from one side to the other when you have a car on it? From the hadIebars. I have a center post in my garage and am concerned that will be the limiting factor to this fitting in my garage
I turn my handle so that I can push it as close to the wall as I can. Also, it lets me jack it up. It is 114.5” (let’s say 115”) from the jacking handle to the outside of the car. Hope this works for you.
What year ?
It’s a 72 C3.
Siiiick
Thanks man.
When you removed the transmission, did you feel it was stable side to side? Im debating between this or scissor lift.
Yes, she’s stable. But I always use the rubber blocks which in my opinion helps.
@@tekmotorsports4052 thanks for the reply
Damn i need those headers..
nice lift, I do have 3 series BMW you think I should be able to remove engine and trans together and that middle bar wont be on the way? Thanks
Yes, I do it all the time. I have the drivetrain on a toolbox and lower the car onto it. Just have to mindful of the length of the paint/cart as it will hit the lower blue bars.
