It’s mounted to the trans tunnel with additional tie down closer to the Garnin mount. Yeah, not using the coaching side of it when racing. I haven’t had any issues with it not mounted on the windshield. The GPS timing is within 1 tenth of my transporter so I’m good there.
How did you mount? I'd read that the accelerometers/coaching would be thrown off if it wasn't positioned on windshield - is that your experience? I guess you're not really using that during a race anyway...
