Nice one Dan. Looks like it was perfect weather for Sam's first wildcamp.
Nice hike Dan. Wishing you a fantastic evening 😊
Two ways to improve your taste experience further, cook the mushrooms with the bacon to absorb the flavour, and while your eating put the frying pan back on the heat with a little water to make cleaning easier. Good video .I used my trangia 25 for the very first time this year I think they are brilliant
@erniethecat198 good advice. I was right next to my van so didn't bother cleaning it but I usually do the water trick. Top gear though aren't they!
Good job! I climbed up criffel in Scotland
@SH33P_YT nice one mate 👍
Class mate. I remember seeing the guy you’re talking about on the BBC, think they gave him an award and there was a flypast if I remember rightly. Look forward to seeing the rest of these 👍
Thanks for the video brother
Nice video Dan. Thank you for sharing.
Ey up me duck. What a great story, very sad but very interesting. Back when men were proper men hey buddy and God bless Tony for honouring them in such a devoted way. 👍
Absolutely brilliant. Well done Dan.
Oh dear hope the milkman is ok 😢 nice park even in the rain, lots of ducks about. Certainly were very brave. Lovely memorial for them.
Fantastic video 📸📸📸😊🎉❤❤❤
Well done, great tribute to those brave men,
Hi! Great adventures. Excellent video my friend. + 19 Warm regards
Thankyou for watching, glad you enjoyed it
I was sold at bacon. Thanks for sharing brother
@@EatCarbs 🙂
Looking forward to seeing you cook some of my bacon 😁
@@QuakerJones268 I'm looking forward to cooking and eating some of your bacon 👍
Nice one Dan. I'd have poured the bacon grease over the bread too. What is the weight of the Trangia?
The bottom of the pan was actually starting to dry up and burn a little so there wasn't much as I intended to dip the bread! The Trangia 25 (aimed at a 2 person cookset) weighs in at 1025g for everything
@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling if I remember correctly the 27 (1 person) is 690g but the pans are slightly smaller and I bought this in mind for 3 of us (Me, O & E) in future trips
Good advice, too many you see are unprepared.
Very true! Just like I was this day! Hope you're well bud
Everything tastes better out in nature
You know what, you're right!
Nah then, ey up me duck. Some proper scran was that fella. Oh, n well done on reaching a thousand subscribers me owd. 🙂👍
@Adventures_with_Sog cheers pal, I enjoyed the sarni! 1000 subs always nice, still surprises me I get anyone watching at all. Hope you're well
Love the trangia, great for long hiking trips. Thank you for sharing 😊
@@NorwayHikesTrails it's such a versatile bit of kit. Are you a user mate?
Looks great Dan [ bet you didn't expect to hear that from a Vegetarian ]
Possibly the most unexpected comment for sure! I hear you've bust the 1k subs barrier Steve?
@@1982Noddin Ha ha..yeah..it only took me 4 years
@atrampinthehills.841 a class channel too, no idea why it took you so long. I guess the algorithm determines who sees what! How long you been vegetarian mate?
@@1982Noddin We have been veggie nearly 30 years...fit and healthy...cheers mate.
@@atrampinthehills.841 30 years, nice one. That's some time that mate 👍
Nothing exciting you say...I could kill right now for a Bacon and Mushroom sarnie I'm starving👍...Big Congrats on passing the 1k subs my friend...Congratulated Steven the other day from Tramp in the Hills cos he's done the same👏👏...This is almost like Smellavision cos the Mrs is cooking Gammon for tomorrows dinner...You really enjoyed that sarnie did'nt you Dan...off to see if the Mrs will make me a Gammon sarnie now...doubt it...Cheers Les.🙂👍
@lespickering5080 thanks on the 1k subs, appreciated and it's been a while coming! Smellavision, now that's a TH-cam exclusive right here! I'm sure if you ask her nicely she'll make you a top sarni mate! Thanks for watching bud 👍
A happy looking man making a good looking sandwich!
@johntu4137 very kind words. Thankyou for watching. Are you a Trangia man?
@1982Noddin afraid not, but I do enjoy good cooking in nature videos. Keep it up brother
@johntu4137 I'm intending on doing alot more with my Trangia. While I'm at work I end up spending lots on dinners but j can just take the Trangia and cook. Will make it cheaper and I get to try more recipes
Good thorough review Dan
@davebirds5667 thanks pal 🙂
Great review Dan, it looks like a very well made pack. It's always a good idea to invest in a good Lightweight pack if you are doing a lot of hiking and carrying your gear with you for camping etc Getting the weight down on the Big 3 pays dividends, and your body will thank you for it later in life too. When you consider how much some women's branded handbags cost these days, it's not a massive amount of money IMO ATVB
@@Olan... that's a great analogy to the handbag! Now let me text my Mrs right away . . .
@@1982Noddin You never heard that from me Dan ok 😅
@Olan... I've already told her you'd said it! Oh oh, sorry 😞
Hello Dan, I'm interested in your Ethel record , how long did it take you?
Around 7 month from the first one to the last one
Nice looking pack. Thanks for the video brother
No problem 👍
A very well thought out review, Dan. Looks like a fantastic pack.
Thank you kindly 👍
Nice review Dan. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching 👍
Nice looking pack mate
Certainly seems like a winner, Thanks 👍
Hi Dan, Nice backpack. Great review buddy. greetings from Thuringia Marco & Racoon
Thanks for watching, great feedback. Hope you're well bud 👍
Nice video Dan. Gusty winds, good to just pack up and head to safety. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a great day.
@NorwayHikesTrails yeah, Itvwas a bit much for my daughter. Thanks for watching pal 👍
Wow that wind really picked up. Starting here soon also. Sunset views were awesome 🤩
@Johnjds yeah, it was a nice night and then, boom. Thanks for watching pal 👍
Might have abandoned camp, but an adventure to remember.
Certainly was, she actually really enjoyed the hike in the dark so that's something 😊
Better safe than sorry mate. Bless her, little trooper she is. Might not have lasted the night, but you both got the quality time and an experience to laugh about one day, priceless 👌
Absolutely, we had a decent night and I wasn't forcing her to stay incase it puts her off I the future. Thanks for watching pal 👍
It will be there for next time. At least you were all safe. Thanks for sharing.
@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling yeah mate, I have confidence in the Anaris, just maybe not that much confidence. Ella was getting upset and I didn't wanna spoil it for her
Brilliant Dan!
@mc_tarzan cheers dude 👍
dont forget ya ir binoculars for the stars and nite prowlers,
@gobstoppa1633 sadly I did 😕
Some sound advice there mate, we’ve all been caught out at some time!
Nice one pal, appreciated. Didn't have a great deal of thinking time, just had to act!
New viewer to the channel here, like what I see, no nonsense content....subbed.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Sweater Weather Dan. Time to bring out the hat and mittens! Beautiful VIEW!
I'll certainly be putting my winter stuff in my bag now!
Hey Dan, Looks like an early start to Autumn or Fall. The grasses look yellowish. Great Adventure you are on. By the way, found you on Marks channel. Here will FULL support!
Cool, thanks, thats great. Appreciate the support, it was a good walk!
Good advice Dan. The plateau on Kinder can be very confusing in poor visibility, no matter how well people think they know it. I've had to correct my sense of direction with a compass quite a few times. Yea, definitely time now to include wooly hat and gloves, even if we do get a late warm spell because of the African plume as some are predicting.
Certainly time to take the warmer weather gear out now! Thanks for watching mate
It is very easy to get caught out. My last hike was like that too Dan. Some really good advice. I think the compass is a great idea. We do get a bit complacent at times with familiarity. Sound advice.
Certainly can get too complacent, often seems too easy and then you don't realise how things change. Hope you're well pal, thanks for watching
some sound advice there pal, below them tunnells is the main leeds liverpool main railway line.
Interesting to know, I knew there were tunnels but I didn't know what was what
Ey up me duck. Good advice fella. I've been caught out in the Peak District and damn was it cold and I had my thick army wind smock jacket on. Luckily I wasn't far from the car. Ay a good'un me owd 🙂
The Peak District can be really punishing if you get caught out, which I did. Hope you're well pal 🙂
Nice one...never been up there when it has not been windy...some good camp spots up by the quarry..I keep gloves and Wooley hat in my Rucksack all year long along with Waterproof trousers and jacket...never use a compass but always carry a map...don't think i could get lost in the peak district....not being big headed but i always know where i am...you just get to know areas over the years.
@atrampinthehills.841 I agree with the peaks, once you know it so well it's hard to get lost buy not everyone's that same so good practice for some. I don't really know why I take it all out, certainly time to put it all back in now though, I was bloody soaked today! I wanna investigate these Stanza Stones! Which weekend you camping pal?
@@1982Noddin Not sure when we are camping yet mate...nobody has got back to me...will let you know...pretty soon hopefully...saw some great spots for camping above Gordale scar last weekend
@atrampinthehills.841 if I can sort the date/youths out I'm hoping to come if the invite is still there. Maybe bring our Oliver too as he's literally one of the boys now. See how we go
@@1982Noddin That's great...of course the invite is still there...i message Wayne [ Pennine ] a few days ago with a couple of dates that i could go but have not heard anything...if you and Oliver wanted to go camping this weekend i am free..i will drive up to Malham
@atrampinthehills.841 I'll see what the situation is this weekend bud, Mrs working so I don't think it'll happen! Does Karen camp bud?
Great hike.. thanks for the video brother
@@EatCarbs cheers dude, it was a battle
Both Jock and those woods look lovely Dan. Nice video.
@frederickridall628 the woods are epic, very well trodden. Jock is a proper dude! Thanks for watching pal 👍
Nice one Dan. Lots of nice places around Chesterfield it seems. You're very fortunate to live in that neck of the woods.
