It is very easy to get caught out. My last hike was like that too Dan. Some really good advice. I think the compass is a great idea. We do get a bit complacent at times with familiarity. Sound advice.
Good advice Dan. The plateau on Kinder can be very confusing in poor visibility, no matter how well people think they know it. I've had to correct my sense of direction with a compass quite a few times. Yea, definitely time now to include wooly hat and gloves, even if we do get a late warm spell because of the African plume as some are predicting.
Ey up me duck. Good advice fella. I've been caught out in the Peak District and damn was it cold and I had my thick army wind smock jacket on. Luckily I wasn't far from the car. Ay a good'un me owd 🙂
Hey Dan, Looks like an early start to Autumn or Fall. The grasses look yellowish. Great Adventure you are on. By the way, found you on Marks channel. Here will FULL support!
Nice one...never been up there when it has not been windy...some good camp spots up by the quarry..I keep gloves and Wooley hat in my Rucksack all year long along with Waterproof trousers and jacket...never use a compass but always carry a map...don't think i could get lost in the peak district....not being big headed but i always know where i am...you just get to know areas over the years.
@atrampinthehills.841 I agree with the peaks, once you know it so well it's hard to get lost buy not everyone's that same so good practice for some. I don't really know why I take it all out, certainly time to put it all back in now though, I was bloody soaked today! I wanna investigate these Stanza Stones! Which weekend you camping pal?
@@1982Noddin Not sure when we are camping yet mate...nobody has got back to me...will let you know...pretty soon hopefully...saw some great spots for camping above Gordale scar last weekend
@atrampinthehills.841 if I can sort the date/youths out I'm hoping to come if the invite is still there. Maybe bring our Oliver too as he's literally one of the boys now. See how we go
@@1982Noddin That's great...of course the invite is still there...i message Wayne [ Pennine ] a few days ago with a couple of dates that i could go but have not heard anything...if you and Oliver wanted to go camping this weekend i am free..i will drive up to Malham
