Ya , I feel the same, and most of the other rangers I have talked to felt something just isn't right. We will see they rework it. I would like to be able to move slowly when shooting for starters on my sniper ability.

That's a valid reason, along with burnout if you go to hard. Good thing is you would have plenty of time to step away and come back before launch. Phase 2 should be a exciting time, look forward to seeing you in Verra!

It takes me a good bit of time right now just to get from one side of the biome to the other, imagine when they add the other 17 biomes! The game has been super fun to be a part of and with so much left to put in, people who join now will have the privilege of saying they were a part of making it what it will be! I'm in Alpha and the experience is as barebones as it gets. The biggest testable part of this Alpha is character development and even that is only partial with only base archetype - so you can try out classes, try out combat, do xp grind and maybe some PvP and such, but most other systems are very raw or non-existent. You get plopped into the world, get several intro quests and good luck with your life. From what I see I would not expect actual release to happen before 2028 and by then they have A LOT of work to do. Heck I would not be surprised to see actual beta only in 2027.

Anyone who thinks this game is a scam at this point, well not sure what to tell you. Typical MMO's take 8-10 years and that doesn't even account for the absolute size that AoC will be, then having to navigate through a Unreal change and covid. Now I won't say that some mistakes haven't been made, but for a first time studio they're doing a damn nice job. That being said you're entitled to your opinion and I would simply say just wait until release where you can re visit the game. The Riverlands has a lot more than 20% done, people need to remember what this phase is, it's for server stability. They did the same thing to us in pre alpha. Only showed what they needed to, have to remember they're many builds ahead of us.

This game is not a scam, but at their pace and given the scope - it might very well end up being medieval Star Citizen at least as far as release date goes. The saving grace is that they are not charging ludicrous $$$ for mount JPEGs or some such (yet). Sure, they asked 120 bucks for naked alpha, but that's a smallie compared to what actual real scam is like Star Citizen.

@@zelasd3125 I can see how some might feel that way, and to be honest this is what MMO's have done to their fan base the last 20 years so I get it. Star citizens suffers from mass scope creep and that's hurting them. I believe Steven has a set plan and will worry about the rest of the stuff he wants to do in expansions. The real key is to see if the tools they developed will expedite the biomes, we should know a lot more in phase 2. And I'm sure he doesn't want to be put in the category of SC. Only time will really tell though, I'm hoping for the best

I'm still getting used to the tetris system myself, all bags are not created equal for sure. I do like how the apprentice bags hold much more.

The bag system is literally one of my favorite things in this game. It makes you feel like a real lumberjack or a miner or whatever. Especially with the profession-specific gear. I love it.

It's all about choices and rewards/consequences. The bag system is amazing.

@@DanBeLiving The one nice thing about the bags is that when you die, whoever is trying to get your loot simply might not be able to carry what u have due to not having the proper bag. So it could be a nice advantage in that way.

Add I totally agree, I can’t find enough time in the weekend to get the stuff I want to do done, that’s a great sign!

I’m not really sure what happened, sounds like there was some miscommunication and haven was karma bombing with a level 4. That being said I want there for that so can’t really speak on it. We did declare war and a a few times some guys spawned camped them which many of us disagreed with. Haven shortly disbanded their guild to avoid war. But it sounds like it might not of been fully justified anyway. As far as I’m concerned unless new drama comes up it’s a dead issue to me but I’ve been hearing a lot of talk from them. I’m just going to go where the guild points me as I’m just a peon. But no I don’t condone griefing if that happened.

@ I was very surprised to hear this. You seem pretty cool and I dig your stream. Feels very positive when I watch. 🤙🏼 Felt out of character for the guild you represent, but we all have those outliers from time to time.

@@GenXOG I appreciate the kind words, and yes Overlord to my knowledge very much intends to help foster a good community not bring it down so hopefully whatever happened tends not to be a pattern. And yes you're right I certainly would not want to be associated with a guild if they're indeed doing bad this on a consistent basis.

So, I was farming mobs with my guild on the third floor of Carphin the other night when I noticed the world famous youtuber and streamer Narc flying around on his super cool flying mount mount. He looked pretty impressive up there, casting a huge shadow over the area while we effortlessly cleared packs. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to say hi, so I shouted up at him, “Hey look its Narc, our beloved copium king!” He paused mid-air, hovering above us, and looked down. Instead of the friendly wave I expected, he just gave me this smirk and typed, "Shush pleb, just keep sitting down there farming." Then he started spamming the /yawn emote while circling around us like he was too good to help. I shrugged it off, but then he dismounted right in the middle of our pull and started casting AOE heals and buffs. He wasn’t even targeting our party; he was just throwing out heals to show off. It actually pulled half the mob pack off us and onto him. As he stood there surrounded by mobs, he typed, “Watch and learn,” then threw down a flashy heal-over-time spell, clearly trying to solo them all. But one of the elite mobs slammed him with a stun. He tried to recover by casting a big heal, but another mob interrupted him, and his health started dropping fast. Within seconds, he was overwhelmed and was laying on the ground reduced too nothing but the glint he dropped. My whole party just watched him die and saw his pile of glint sitting there. We then looted his corpse, feeling vindicated. Just as we were getting back to work, he sent me a private message that said, “Nobody needs to know about this, alright"

@@rodeowerewolf3004 this... Or have the option to do it in small numbers z in a party of 2-3.... In today's world these games lose players because they don't realize most people don't have time to be there for big group content, and the game makes them quit because there is no way they can do shit in the game after leveling up... And this is 50-70% of the player base.

This all works, when you have the player numbers... but we all know where these PVP focused MMOs will end up...

@@justinwhite2725 this was something that happened to us this past weekend when we declared war, right now there is nothing in place to prevent it.

Some people have the perception of level 10 being quick because the plunder quests were available at level 1. We'll see how it goes after the reset.

I guess I’m use to leveling as I have leveled them since pre alpha, I’m currently 22 and I’ve been slacking. It’s really about knowing where to go but I’ll make a good leveling video when we get closer to launch.

@@justinwhite2725 oh I miss the plunder quests lol. They did add more quests on the ptr and are giving more experience now.

@@henrychurch6062 during early phases for sure, when the game launches and there is 85 nodes other people should have a chance at some point.

Remains to be seen whether the divine PvE quests can be communally organized, or if they will go corrupt to prevent competition. If mercantile is just straight player gold (and not node currency) then yes large guilds can pool it.

@ yes it was once 103 but when they made the map bigger and added more water they reduced nodes to 85.

That's not how things happened at all. They were reporting bugs and the got stream sniped. So their guild started killing the stream snipers. Then the stream sniper's guild started mass reporting pirate software, and publicly bragging that they were doing so, trying to get him banned. So Pirate's guild set the sniper's guild to at war, and now it's working out exactly how one would think. This isn't griefing, this is emergent diplomacy. And I'm here for it.

Hundreds of people already quit the alpha server I'm on cause there were guilds that spawn camped the starting zone for the past two weeks (somewhere around 20-30% of the server population at the time quit to another server). 2 of the 5 nodes were dead for a week, 1 still is. Devs said they can't do anything about it, they have no counter systems to it, no matter how much we asked them for it. No warnings, no nothing. Asmongold gets killed on the streamer server, suddenly they will have methods to counter this in a week. Just how the world works.

@@henrychurch6062 this is literally devoid of reality. That is unprovable at best. Additionally Steven stated that there is a point where the goal is to go beyond the game. You know like stating the goal is to make literal children quit playing the game. That guild has made a statement. You should go read it, and ignore streamers on ego trips. Who cares if he gets sniped. Don't stream it then dude. It's not some grand offense.

I'll be interested to see how it plays it, we all know Steven was the guild leader of a guild that had thousands so call me skeptical :) . Large guilds like this usually do end up breaking up over time though.

This is very possible, but at least for Launch I know Narc will keep playing, And Asmongold has been looking for a game to replace WoW for sometime. And Thor was a longtime Eve player who also is looking for a new home so I could at least see those 3 staying long term.

@@TheHiddenDaggerInn As it is an oldschool game (aka hard and punishing game) i dont see it being popular for a long time, and streamers kinda need the audience for their jobs, thats why i think it might be unviable for them to stay.

@@kizzuno With 90% of the streamers I 100% agree with you, I could see these 3 staying long-term. At least when Launch comes out. You're right though, most will come and go, that's why I'm not killing myself streaming right now I'll wait until they start to clear out.
