My guild is going to a divine node, I think that divine node will be valued for leveling and for the bonus to alchemy and enchantments, that said we plan to keep a mercanary guild on retainer to provide a solid core to our military has our members act more has militia to pad out numbers.
Certainly for alts leveling down the road once they have a metro, I bet the catacombs will be a lot of fun. Sounds like you guys have a plan, and that's really what the video is about. No one wants to lose our node, whichever type it is. So run it right, and prepare for the unexpected. I'm pretty sure a mayor won't be able to undo everything he has down very quickly, so planning ahead is imperative. I feel the most popular nodes will be the Scientific node followed by the Economic nodes. Personally, I am looking forward to exploring the Divine nodes. BTW, I have not heard of academic nodes. Just the four Military, Economic, Scientific, and Divine nodes.
Scientific were renamed to academic, but still sometimes referred to as scientific. I would agree with the popularity of the nodes you mentioned, going to be fun to see how it unfolds, and it will most likely be different on every server. Thanks for the comment .
If I had enough time and resources, then I would start a cult...I mean divine node. The main objective is spreading faith of some initially unknown deity, which slowly reveals the goal of just setting the world on fire. Basically a player driven lore and pve / pvp quest line.

Couple things I'm not so sure about: - Will military nodes be for PvP centric players? The bounty hunters being from these nodes may actually disincentivize pvp. - How beneficial will catacombs be? I could see this being the balance point for divine nodes. If these are one of the most efficient grinds in the game, people will want them.
I believe it will simply because that's the best opportunity for players who want to get Mayor if they're good at PvP. Tie that into Bounty Hunting, and I saw someone but can't find the quote atm that in military nodes you might work off corruption faster, which would be interesting as you would be very close to BH's looking for you :) As far as catacombs, who knows at the moment. I want them to be good, but not OVERLY good where they don't feel the need to leave them. Also wondering if they will be more Instanced area's in the catacombs for more diverse boss fights. Since there is apparently a functional pantheon in Verra, Intrepid might make it so a max level Divine Node is needed to be maintained for worldwide buffs or they may even have unbeatable loot in their mega-dungeon which will be inaccessible to the whole server for as long as there is no max level Divine Node. If either of those things are true then in well organized servers Divine Nodes will actually be the most secure and stable node type as even rival guilds have incentive to cooperate and keep one maxed at all times.
Interesting point and take, I'm sure Intrepid will try to make them all desired and equally powerful in their own ways. I guess it will come down to what players feel give them the most use. Academic fast travel is forever, dungeons unless the materials are really great are only as useful as you have new players leveling as it won't benefit max levels much. Now I do think their will be a certain armor set you can only acquire their, but it won't be any better than one you will be able to craft but unique nonetheless. Yup that's correct, after making the audio I realized that wasn't clear so I added some text stating that. While they can obliterate it , it will still be the same node type if they choose to relevel it, but like you said someone else in the area will take it's place.
Auction house is going to be the most beneficial early in the game's life cycle. Divine nodes i see being more endgame content since you get an extra dungeon from it, which you don't really need before you have cleared all the other dungeons first.

Its too early to talk about Node types but as i see it Economic and Academic nodes will feel a lot of presure from enemies cause of their special buildings, Market and Portals. Divine maybe seems pve friendly but usually people who like this type of theme are above average, only the fact that the name is DIVINE, keeps a specific group of players away, which means instant increase of the total skill, if you know you know. Military and hardcore pvp players compination is probably one of the few things that will happen in all regions and all realms which will lead to epic content. All Node types will have good and bad players and everything is possible if players decide to do it. What i dont want to see is a certain type to be META. All types must be usefull so players can enjoy them.

I do think in the long run, that is will be different on every server as while guilds per say don't own a node, they will have a large influence along with their alliance. What is your favorite Node? Do you think they will be evenly distributed? And which node type will have more than one since we can have 5 metropolises?
Node types are predetermined and outside of player control. What is player controlled is how far that node levels. ie. You can’t destroy a divine node and replace it with a military one.

I'd REALLY like to see a randomization of Node Types to further alter the differences in Servers. That said, I'm aiming for a Divine Node, where I shall help build a Temple of Shol and burn through the divine shol story arc and step in as Mayor if needed or forced to by incompetence. Ps. Academic/Scientific Node is the one I'm interested in being a member of.

I think the nodes should be able to blend the attributes, being just one or the other doesn’t make sense. Time will tell I guess.

I think a max level divine nodes will be off the beaten track, not unlike Tibetan monasteries.
