I think it should all be about guild/node wars. Corruption is there to keep the PKing at a minimum, while proper wars have all the pvp in the game. Those wars just gotta be balanced well enough to keep the people fighting, even if they don't win all that much.
yes I agree node wars and Guild wars mechanics and interest will be very important to be done well. and I'm sure will require a lot of feedback. Thank you for the comment!
I think we will see PvE centric loops when the game content starts rolling in. Sandbox systems are traditionally perpetuated by pvp centric loops. Themepark *writing* is generally substantiated by PvE centric loops. I think the perception that ashes is skewed pvp is because they are keeping a lot of the PvE writing under wraps. Steven wants "the element of discovery" I'm also worried we are going to lose some of our PvE enjoyers, I really hope the content and events and the "park" part of sandpark will shine after 1.0.
Yes I can't wait to dig into testing to see how it's going to start to play out, and Steven has so much more content I'm sure he plans to add after launch even. This is only the beginning
I'm personally a fan of World PvP. I'm the type of player who wont attack just anyone. I'm not gonna just kill everyone i see and be a menace to society, i'd rather fight the pvpers. If you dont like PvP then great, i wont fight you. But if you attack me first or if you terrorize other players then i'll be there to see what you got. I enjoy challenges i dont like pvping players who stand no chance.
World open PvP is what I prefer as well. I come from games like DAoC and Warhammer Online and Gw2 where open world and castle fights were key. Thank for the comment, and welcome!
It will come down to the penalty. I feel there should be different penalties for different locations. Story Arc quests need a higher penalty than a general delve or small dungeon. Open World should be balanced, and finally, light if any penalty in open waters. I would like to see a node as a safe zone. I invision rogues, killing every crafter once the process starts and taking the result. This would be a horrible mechanic.
Maybe be a gamer first, and PVE enjoyer second in this game. Play the whole game. Don't try to change this game into the one you want to get away from.
appreciate the comment, but no where in the video did I suggest making a game for everyone. Simply brought up the topic of node safety with restrictions, and possible doors closing for some bosses, which has already been talked about as a possibility from Steven. You're correct though and I also mentioned it at the beginning of the video you can't please everyone.
The problem with every “pvp” game ever is PvP does not have to mean combat instantly. Surprise me outnumbered, let’s make a deal, don’t waste the players time by just killing on site when dialog could work out just fine. But then again. Far too many so called PvP players just want to watch the world burn.
I think other than the seas where PvP might be very spontaneous, most of the pvp should be castles, nodes wars, and I would guess a fair amount of pvp from guild wars in the open world when waring guilds are spotted. A2 should give us a good idea on how it will come together. thank you for the comment and welcome.
Without watching the video, I just said "no". It's not made to be the next wow, it's made to be a conflict driven world. PvP activities being involved in everything forces conflict and corruption/incentive discourage griefing. There will always be griefers, but with the way nodes work, it forces a collectivisation of people to work together. This is going to force community right into the forefront. I'm sure within the first few weeks or months, there will be giant guilds who take over as much as they can. But just like the Roman empire, you can't spread yourself too thin or you lose control. It's not that you'll have splinter factions of large communities, it's just, the amount of time and effort you need to put in to control land/resources, will exponentially increase with the more land/resources your group owns. There will definitely be systems that change over time to combat zerging. One of the greatest things about Ashes will be the world size and the fact that you have to use caravans and ships to transport large amounts of goods. If someone wants to be a part of a PVE only experience in Ashes, they honestly just need to go find another game. I'm here for both PvE and PvP. I don't want the organic player driven conflict environment Ashes is trying to create, to diminish because some WoW raiders get upset that they get ganked a lot.
i like the background ^^
Thanks you my friend, welcome to the channel.

Great Video! You sound like a PVE player 🙂
thanks buddy, omg those are fighting words haha
Lots of people say they are pvpers and this game is the one for them. The alpha will weed em out 🤣🤣
ya, I mean I hate questing, and don't like arena's but I love open world pvp

Yes, I believe we're going to see rogues do their worst, along with rangers on the rooftops, stealthing when they get guard aggro and slipping away.
@@TheHiddenDaggerInn God I hope so.... Can't wait

No, it's not. And if you make a game for everyone, you make a game for no one. Good luck to ya.

If you make a game for PvPers, you make a game for no one, unless your game is EVE.

while I appreciate your comment, without watching the video your comments really aren't on topic I was going over, their our more topics on the table.
Hi. The answer is NO. PVP is Good. /Video
