The Truth About Protein: Preserve Lean Muscle While Losing Weight
I walk one hour every day, and listen to this podcast, it keeps me going, thanks Ethan!
I Love and needed these words this morning. Thank you
Ultra-processed industrial products are not food. They mimic food. We've been trying to trick our bodies since the advent of Crisco and margarine...and the results speak for themselves. We're all diabetic whales.
Always good to see a new episode, motivates me to get to work on the weights.
It can take years to undue the damage you did to yourself or others have done to you. But I have found that you be consistent love yourself and have compassion and patience for yourself too. There is no journey like it. Good for him.
Great podcast. We lost everything in a fire in 2020 during covid. The hardest thing was getting our I.D.'s and any documents replaced. It's a good thing that we had copies of most of our documents as well as my wife's naturalization papers and passports in a lockbox at the bank.Jake and Ethan both are great role models!
Clearly he had multiple surgeries for loose skin… you can see the scars
If he removed his sweat drenched bandana he'd probably lose an additional 20 lbs.
Over eating is like overspending when you have done it for years it is bloody hard to stop doing it!
Wonder if the military has a budget for you to help with their recruiting crisis they keep complaining about. Seeing as how they keep citing young Americans' lack of physical fitness as the main reason. They created Shawn Ryan and Jocko's success...
Man, you're the only one who actually knows how to go from heavy weight to good looks. All these influencers are way off, minus Israetel and Obese to Beast. And of course, the Real Truth is not being promoted in the algorithm. You deserve all the traffic, you have the real advice Obese people in America need to hear.
You are 100% right on. I lost count of how many times I said, "Yes!" or "Exactly!" during this episode.
Great episode! I just got a digital scale and weighed myself for the first time since I started, I went from 380 to 290 without ever weighing myself once. Focus on the goals not the number.
You can do it man.
3:16 Not to admonish Goggins, but his & the SOFCAST goon syndrome helps absolutely NOBODY. Even CIA trains their DO Officers that motivation for exercise is best optimized by enjoyment, personalization, and consistency. The Military's traditional discipline approach works great for them, but isn't very effective when you're ALL ALONE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. Then it's all on you, and you'll quickly find that discipline is not a great motivating factor and will falter regardless of Anomolies. Delta Guys have the same ideals when they're tested, as they're all alone and have missions to accomplish by themselves. Just like when we lose the fat, it's more about becoming HEALTHY again. It's about breaking through the trauma & behaviors that caused such aggressive weight gain. Very much so a Spiritual trial and tribulation.
New Year New You, Milieu. Makes it a lil annoying at the Gym but hey it's easier to understand the greater essa of humanity when you know the prima causa and see the effect in real time. Use that Systems Approach to everything and you'll have a Full Canvas soon enough. Either way, thanks for the Wisdom!
This is the worst guest in the history of the podcast.
Seems like a genuinely nice guy. I just don't understand why he thinks he is different than the people he criticizes.
With your weight loss did it reduce your sleep apnea?
I treat food like a budget. I love homemade pizza so I have up sodium and calories so I can afford it. You don't have to suffer to loose weight. The world is so full of good delicious food it's ok to enjoy them just not in excess.
👑
For financial reasons, I've recently took upon myself to save money and cook at home. I find myself being glad that I do it now, but going back to carbs almost every meal. When I filter out some carbs of my habits, sugar will be next. What y'all think ?
🤘
I’m very glad I decided to make my physical and mental health a priority July 29th, 2024. I made the changes in correlation with starting at a new company. Adding exercise to my day with new work hours and a new position made it far simpler for me. With that said I do plan to set a few goals for 2025. I want to see how far I can take my strength training during the year I turn 50. Thank you for the motivation.
i needed this today i have had an amazing year going from 181kg down to 105kg i have followed a clean eating habit removings suger and prosessed foods and using IF/fasting. i had a 3 days where i allowed myself some suger and i binged hard i did a 2 day fast after this and started eating clean agian but at the time i am writing this food is itching my mind and im unsure why maybe i need to set some new goals. thank you for your podcasts honestly helps so much :)
I needed this today.
The etymology given for "diagnosis" is not correct (or is it a joke ?). From Latin diagnōsis, from Ancient Greek διάγνωσις (diágnōsis), from διαγιγνώσκω (diagignṓskō, “to discern”), from διά (diá, “through”) + γιγνώσκω (gignṓskō, “to know”).
And it’s been my experience that cheat days can take on a life of their own.
🤘
If he engaged with his fans he might have more of a following
I can empathize my cousin baby Shane at his peak he was so bad that he would sit downstairs and scream up at my aunt to bring him cookies and milk every 10 minutes to the point where he was around 450 pound maybe close to 500 they went to extremes for him paid a ex nfl player to be his personal trainer in Seattle Washington took him 2 years when he got in shape he quit now he’s pretty chubby wanna say he’s around 300lbs which isn’t to bad but sometimes I’ll notice that’s he’s put a few extra pounds on. But he recently became a dad so I’m hoping that will give him the motivation to stay well. I’m no different I weigh 110 pounds I struggle with eating and gaining weight but there are a few other factors ide rather not get into. Not drugs tho.
Hopefully this podcast takes off for you man you worked hard and deserve more successes
You look great Henry! You don’t need to try to get buff - in fact buff men are boring. Spend anymore time that half an hour in the gym 3x a week & you have no personality.
Thank you for sharing these open and honest conversations.
❤
I look forward to your videos. They always give me something to think about. One of my biggest weight-loss challenges has been to get emotional responses out of eating, both negative and positive. Cheating is an emotion-laden word. Still far from perfect, but getting better at it. Eighty-eight pounds down in twenty months, 149 to go. Thank you both for putting this content together.
I could not agree with this more. Well stated.
Normally, some podcasts are slow and you don't know how they last.
🦾
❤
This was so honest and informative! Thank you!
Humans aren't playing God at all with this. But it's funny how even Harvard used to think this was Taboo with Dr. Zavos who created Cloning, In Vitro, and this technology and was forced to basically flee the US 17yrs ago. LOL America is crazy work.
You achieved a remarkable win there Ethan. Your success is impressive and inspiring .
Carrie is a Fing Hero. Glad to have met her and shared a couple great conversations.
What a brave person!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Love American glutton podcast Ethan is so admirable and kudos to the young lady
My girl out here just crushing her goals. I'm so damn proud of how far she has come and everything she's accomplished. It's amazing to see her share her experience on your platform - thank you for doing this!
I an on a journey from 365 to current 285 and heading toward 225. It is definitely not easy, but i am trying to make this my new healthy life and not a get healthy bandage.
I know I can lose weight and I have in the right conditions but I’m a chronic overeater due to anxiety and it comforts me to eat. I eat mostly healthy foods but I really want to get to the point where I’m not always wanting food. I am not obese, just overweight. But I definitely empathize with people trying to lose weight.
100%!
I “budgeted” my calories for a couple of days before and after thanksgiving and didn’t go overboard on the day itself. Still had a little bit of everything, and a couple of the cookies that my nieces baked that morning. Was able to lose a couple of pounds over the week. Down 255 from my heaviest as of this morning, just weighed in at 270 lbs.
@@brianmiljevich826 Nice job balancing your personal goals during the family/holiday time. 💪🏼
Awesome!
I’m a 49-year-old who got on track in August. I’m down 40+ pounds and have been strength training a minimum of 5 days a week since October 1st. My issue is the backlash I face from my family when I tell them I am not interested in all the casseroles, pies, sweets, etc. Being from the South the easiest way to offend others is to avoid the food they brought to the table.
I understand that! Good work!
