Looks so yum!! Wish I wasn’t gluten free! 🤦🏻♂️ love these videos!
It really is yummy! Ah that’s so hard! I don’t know if I could go gluten free. I love bread way too much. I wonder if there are gluten free versions of focaccia bread around 🤔
That not roti it must have split peas in it
Hey Kendon, not in South Africa. Every place has a different way of making their rotis. Where about are you from?
😋 Why "roti" and not "pita" or "piadina", what's the difference?
All these unleavened breads have the same or similar ingredients just the cooking technique makes them different 😊

🙌🙏🙌
Hi. I just tried this dough and found i needed way more flour than 2 cups before i got to the right consistency. Not sure if i did something wrong but hopefully itll cook the same way as its a very easy recipe!
Oolala yummy delicious and mouthwatering 😋😋😋 I'll try tomorrow ❤ love from UK Manchester 💞🇬🇧
Hi Sara, Thanks for the lovely message! Definitely let me know how it goes! Have an awesome week out there in Manchester!
Let’s gooooooo! So good!

Thank you Leila!!!
New subscriber here. Amazing recipe, beautiful voice.🥰
Oh wow! Thank you so much leila!! I appreciate you subbing and the kind words 🙌 hope you have a great weekend out there 🙏
Can you use olive oil?
Hi Cheryl you sure can but it will have a slight olive taste. Vegetable oil will work just fine here 🙌
@@AllThingsFoodthank you
These came out perfect
Ah that’s so awesome hear! Thank you for giving the recipe a shot!!
Again this recipe is amazing. ❤thank you. My sister was looking for a nice soft roti recipe. I shared your video.. Hmmmmm lamb curry with roti is the ultimate! ❤
Hi Daven, Thank you for sharing your recipe. I wonder if we could use Ragi flour instead of any other flour? Thank you.
Hi Maniam! Hmm I’ve never used Ragi flour before so I’m not sure if it would work. However I would suggest halving the recipe and testing it. You might need to add more water depending on how the flour works and feels but I suggest giving it a shot to see how it turns out. I might have to get my hands on Ragi flour and see what it tastes like. Please let me know how you go!
Very Simple n clear
Thank you so much Valentina! I appreciate it!
Any idea how much calories each roti would have with this recipe? Thank you.
Hi Raj, If you're making 8 rotis it should around 158 calories for each 75g ball of dough. I hope this helps! Thanks Raj!
@@AllThingsFood Thank you. Would you be able to provide fat and salt content for each roti. Appreciate your time.
Thanks mate for the perfect recipe. Super simple and soft. I Tried the batter type but too hard to keep the same thickness all over and the other dough ones that you have to leave for an hour to rest etc. If I make several batches in one go how do I go about storing them and bringing them back to life. Do I roll them and place paper in between them and then freeze or cook/half cook them then freeze? How long will they last? What is the best way to reheat them after freezing ? Appreciate your time.
Very good David 💯
Thanks you so much! I appreciate it 🙌
Which flour are you using bro? Atta or maida?
Hi! I’m using maida for this recipe but you can use atta just don’t add as much water in the start. Best of luck with the recipe!
Thank you
Thank you for watching Desiree! 🙌🙏
everyone eats this with curry. But let me tell you. When I was living in Malaysia, they served it with sweetened condensed milk and holy crap its SOOOOO good (roti susu)
Ahhhh Malaysian rotis are so damn good! I haven’t had one since I lived in New Zealand. You’re 100% right this combination of roti and something sweet is incredible. As a kid we used to get them with jam and butter sometimes in my lunchbox. What a treat! Thanks for watching the video!!
Life saving recipe ❤❤ thanks bro😊
Anytime at all! Glad I I could help! Have an our day out there 😊
How do I keep the doing from being so sticky?
Hi Andrew! Add in about a tablespoon of flour at a time and knead the dough again. Repeat the process until the dough comes together 🙏 I hope that helps 🙌

Thank you so much!
Tan chidas las tortillas de harina 👌
¡Sí, son realmente geniales! gracias por ver el vídeo 🙌
Is it all purpose flour? And only canola oil ?
Hi foxytweet2u, yes it’s all purpose flour and canola oil but you can use any neutral oil you like. Good luck! 🙏😊
Is it self raising flour or plain?
Hi! It’s just plain flour no need to use self raising for this recipe 🙏
Canola oil is engine oil
I dont think I’ve ever seen it in an engine but okay 😅
What does it mean 2 cups flour in gramms?
Hi Anita! It’s about 240/250g of flour. Apologies for that and best of luck with the recipe!
From The Big 🍎 Apple, NYC, NY. We Thank U For Your Calmed, Easy, Well Explained ..ROTI..! 🙏🏽Blessings And Much 💪🏽Strength To Continue With The good Work.
Thanks you for the kind words Nelly! I appreciate you watching the video and taking the time to write a comment. Bless you and I hope you have a great week! 🙌😅
No baking powder? Whats causing it to rise?
Yup! I don’t use baking powder for my roti. It’s the fat and heat that’s caused the dough to rise and expand.
Google chapati recipes preferably from Kenyans and Ugandans and you’ll never eat roti again 😂🤣
Haha I’ve heard so many good things! Do you have a good recipe that you like to make? Would love to check it out 🙌
Can someone help me out? I just tried this with 250g flour, 20g butter two tbl spoon canola and 250ml water. However, the resulting g dough is just way too sticky. I couldn't kneed it because it just stuck to everything. It's like there's not enough flour. Tips?
Hi Nigelin! So this happens from time to time, things like where you are in the world, time or day and humidity can affect the dough. I suggest adding in a tablespoon of flour at a time to the mixture and try kneading it again. Slowly add more flour if necessary but don’t overdo it. Please let me know if this helps!!
I dont have canola oil. What other oils can be used as a replacement ?
Hi just standard vegetable oil or anything other neutral oil will do the trick as well Julia! Thank you giving it a shot!
Did anyone else get pregnant after watching this or just me?
Hahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I made the rotis and they were goood!!!! All the advice I have is, if your butter is salty, adjust your salt measurements
Wtf
@@kevinroark5815 you obviously didn’t. Missing out.
Can olive oil be used instead of canola?
Hi ncjackson! You can definitely use olive oil if you’d like. They only thing is that the roti will have a slight olive flavor. Best of luck with the recipe 🙏
I like how simple and clear he made the instructions.❤💛💜
Thank you so much Verna! I appreciate it heaps
Hi Daven thanks for this roti recipe. My late wife used to make rot and I have tried so many but no success. I have tried your method. too soft and very good. Thank you

Hi Edwin! I used standard all purpose white flour. No need to get anything special for this simple recipe! Best of luck 🙏
Thanks Devon

Which wheat flour we have to buy
Hi ifransheriff! I used standard all purpose white flour 🙏
I tried this recipe for 100th time and its my go to. i love how soft they are love this recipe i have been using it for the past 2 years only leaving this comment now 😂
Hi Dineosaane!! Thank you so much for the comment. Seriously appreciate it so much! Glad that even after 2 years the recipe still stands well! Here’s to many more years of roti to come 😊🙏🙌
Greetings from India! This is a great roti recipe video! I, too, use very hot water for my dough. I let it rest for at least 30 minutes before I make them. Did you use all purpose flour/maida? For rotis we usually use whole wheat flour/atta.
Hi pragawa!! Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes I’ve found that letting it rest for a little bit while I make my curry makes the roti really easy to roll out 😊 The flour is it standard all purpose flour or also known as maida 🙌 you can use atta flour but might need to add a little more water. Please let me know who you go with the recipe 😊🙌
4/17/2024 - just saw your video and was very pleased to learn your style of making roti, i like how you gave the measurements and I would really like to try this recipe soon. I am now subscribing and will follow to learn new recipes. thank you so much.

How many can be made from this recipe ?
Hi Brenwyn! I make either 8 normal size ones or 6 really big ones. The problem with the bigger ones is that they will be a little thicker and may require a little more cooking. Please let me know how you go with the recipe!
Love your video. I did try it and it was delicious...tks again.
Ah thank you so much Ernest! I appreciate the comment so much! Thank you for trying the recipe!
Stick to cooking. What measurements are you using, Us or Imperial? Anyway nice presentation. 💯💯💯🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
