I tie a fly similar to that using strips from latex gloves, balloons( white, green, black mixing colors). Very durable especially for blue gills, crappie. I also use the material for tails. Drives fish crazy. Good video
I might try latex gloves next time! Thanks for the comment and tight lines
Cmon mate how can you be serious, Who puts milk in a flask ??? 😂 8:34
Your right on mate I don’t know what I was thinking 😂
Absolutely brilliant thank you so much for great tying and fishing
Thanks for the comment! Appreciate it 🙂
@@CJsReelAdventures your very welcome
Well done good video.
Thank you!
Well done bud, cracking video 👌🏻 tight lines tae yea 🎣🐟🐟🐟
Thanks I appreciate it! Tight lines to you too mate
Smashing video, cracking cod. What size is your outboard out of interest? Zips along nicely.
Thanks!! I have a 6hp outboard, it pushes the sib along no problem and gets on the plane easily
Hi mate what’s the best time of year for the dogs?
Hi mate, I’ve always had good luck in summer but I’ve head people saying that spring and autumn are good times especially for the bigger fish
Love the bells use them for pike fishing simple and effective
Yeah they’re super useful, especially for when you have your back turned to the rods
nice video ! what rod reel and line do you use man ?
Thanks! This was a greys gr50, but for small rivers anything around the similar casting weight of 10-30g is a nice light grilse rod. For the reel I use a Shimano stradic and diawa bg and I’m a big fan of powerpro braid for the line, I think in this video it was somewhere around 40lb breaking straight
Nice fish. Shame about the rod. Hopefully you will get one on the fly next year. I've got the same week on the findhorn in September next year. Might have a rod available.
Thanks mate, I hope so too! Nice one, let me know if you need someone to take the rod!
Loved the confidence. Thats the only way to be in salmon fishing. Good to see those wet sleeves of success again!
Thanks!
Been watching a few of your vids recently, well done in the fish keep the vids coming 🎣
Thanks mate!!
what river is this mate looks cracking
What rod are you using for spinning
This was a greys gr50 spinning 8ft 10-30g, they don’t make them anymore and I just snapped it whilst playing a fish, anything like this is a nice light rod for grilse on smaller rivers
@@CJsReelAdventures thanks for the reply , i thought it was one of the triple cross models
Great vid you make it look so easy
Thanks, looks easy on camera but many blanks before getting some good footage!
Tremendous video, keep them coming. Hopefully see you on the river next season
Thanks! Hope to see you down there 🎣
Amazing how the change of angle makes all the difference. The margins between success and failure can be pretty slim. Excellent video and great commentary. Thanks!
Definitely! Thanks 😊
Brilliant video mate. Quality of video has come on so much. Keep em coming!
Cheers mate, getting there slowly 😂
Best video yet mate. Cracking footage with the go pro at my favourite spot 😄
Thanks mate I really appreciate that!
Really good enjoyed that some cracking fish , which river was it on ?
Thanks!
Seen it mate 👍👍
Brilliant well done 👍👍🥃
Thanks!
Pike on a hotdog!! Amazing lol
I couldn’t believe it!
Where abouts are you fishing
What lake u at looks nice
Hi, sorry it wouldn’t be right for me to name this loch as the people who introduced me to it probably wouldn’t be too pleased!
@@CJsReelAdventures oh it’s a loch im in south east england so wouldn’t matter anyway
Very good
Thanks!
brilliant video, lovely fish. Editing is looking class also 🙌🏻
Thanks mate! Appreciate it
Nice recording, happy days, around here in Lisbon we do catch them too
Thanks! I love catching mullet, I always look forward to targeting them when I’m on holiday
@@CJsReelAdventures Cool, must be amazing to do it around the world, im gathering some travel gear so i can do it, let me know if you come around this area
Seals here are brave at times. I had one nearly come out the water to try grab a pollock I caught not long ago. 😂
😂😂
I was down the day got 2 wee cod and 1 poor cod
Excellent! Well done. I haven’t been up this season yet but hoping to soon
Glad TH-cam showed this on my feed. Great wee video bro. I'm gonna head down there for some spearfishing after watching your session there. Cod was a lovely catch by way and pissed myself when the rod snapped. I'll keep my eyes open for your lure lol. ✌
Thanks mate i really appreciate it! Hope you get some bro! I left a lot of slow jigs around the island so you might get lucky 😂
Fish after fish after fish. Looks class
Was good fun mate, great to catch so many of anything. I’ve been so use to blanking recently
Good lure fishing
Cheers!
Great vid, thank you. Attempted to fond the mark yesterday but gave up after 2 hours walking 😂😂... must have taken a wrong turn. Ended up on the beach on the left of the second fish farm at one point....so near yet so far 😢
Thanks mate! I’m not too sure I’d be able to get back to the same bit either, I’ve only fished this mark once and it was a hard to find at the time. I also ended up walking way past it but found the rocks on the way back down
@@CJsReelAdventures its not too bad walking to this mark but the way back up the hill is a killer walk lol
What size fishing rod u using.please
Hi, this is a 10ft savage gear boat deadbaiting rod, I didn’t know what exactly I’d be catching with lures so this rod means I can cast everything pretty far. If I knew what fish would be in here and the size, I would have opted for a much lighter set up. Thanks
Whats your email address, know a good spot for conger eel
Hi I’m new to fishing and just wondering how you can tell that there is a ledge there just out there t i a
Hey, it’s hard to make out in the video but I could actually see it. I could also feel the rough depths by letting the lure sink as it was coming in. There’s some good maps available online for working out depths too such as navionics. Tight lines!
You’re lucky to have these marks. I was fishing the Cumbrian west coast last week it was like fishing in the desert. Great video 👍
I was very lucky to stumble across this one! Fishing a mark so full of life isn’t too common for me so a very welcome surprise. Thanks mate
Was the tide out 😂
Nice relaxed fishing mate 👍🏴🎣
Thanks! Was great to catch a few fish for a change
Lovely watch mate
Cheers mate!
Make sure you ask people to subscribe
I always forget to ask, next time I record a video I’ll try and remember!
You ever been to saint marys island primary?
No I haven’t
Well done. Bet your heart was in your mouth when you half netted it 😂. Fingers crossed you get one on the fly this year you never forget your first on the fly. Can't spin a lot of the rivers near me they are mostly fly only.
Yep it was 😂 going to keep on trying with it, bound to get another one eventually. Shame you can’t spin it’s a good way to get a fish when the waters not ideal for the fly
@CJsReelAdventures this is true a few pools would definitely be better spinning than fly on some of the rivers I fish. Off to the Findhorn for a week next week so fingers crossed we can bump into a few.
Awesome good luck! Definitely one I want to fish, hope you get a few
Best thing is you didn’t panic, congrats
Thanks, I got lucky with this one!
Class video mate, can’t believe u managed to get it back in the net. Lovely fish. Is that river on the forth permit too? If u don’t mind me asking.
Cheers mate! Me either 😂 unfortunately not but it is on the forth system
@@CJsReelAdventuresappreciate it mate. yes get it deleted don’t want u getting ur spot ruined. Determined I’ll get a salmon before end of the year. U got socials I can contact u on, So I can pick ur brains on salmon?
Always a pleasure watching your videos mate 👌🏻
Thanks mate I appreciate it 😊
Great day out and I'm well jealous of that cod! I'm thinking of getting a SIB for next year for a similar kind of fishing - do you have a pocket radio or anything for emergencies? Just wondering what's wise to pack.
Thanks! I have vhf radio just in case, the main thing to look out for is the wind and swell forecast, if you get a calm day you should be good. Definitely take your oars and pump out with you just in case. Life jacket and the engine killcord attached should keep you safe.
@@CJsReelAdventures Cheers, much appreciated.
Great video well done. It's so difficult not to strike on the fly for salmon especially if it's a grisle it can pull the fly out of its mouth. Tight lines for the next trip hope you manage another one on the fly.
Thanks mate, I’m struggling to remember not to strike straight away, hopefully next time I will! Cheers
@@CJsReelAdventures it's not easy when you're used to striking.
For sure!
Great video CJ . That’s why we love fishing . You never know what’s going to happen 😂… where’d you get your transom wheels? Looking for a sturdy set that are easily removable. Great cod btw
Thanks! I have beachmaster wheels, can’t remember exactly where I bought them but a lot of places have them online. They’re good wheels but fitting them was a bit tricky, each of the 4 pins have to align exactly with the holes which took a bit of time to get right!
Class man stunning fish. What’s your fly setup? Also where do you get the permits for Teith, do you have to be a local to fish it?
Thanks! In this video I was using a Shakespeare Oracle Scandi, 14.9ft 10#. Reel is a guideline Quadra with a skagit line, some people would probably advise against skagit but seems to work okay for me. This stretch of the teith is the old Stirling council water so anyone can fish it, you can get permits online from fish the forth. The Forth is included in the ticket which also has some good fishing, I’ve seen lots down there and hooked one but not managed to get a fish to the net yet
@@CJsReelAdventuresaw no way I had no idea I could fish there I’ve already got a forth permit for the sea trout. Will defo look into it. Determined to get a salmon this year
It’s just getting good! Had one last night off another river on the forth system. Good luck, spend enough time at it and it’ll happen eventually 👍
Been meaning to target this island on the sib for a while now, definitely encouraging. Well done on the pb.
I’ve fished it a few times now and always had fish, a great wee spot. Thanks mate
