Vier Frauen, drei von ihnen Anfang zwanzig, machten sich 2003 auf den Weg in die Weiten der Mongolei, um das Land der Nomaden zu entdecken. Statt mit Souvenirs kehrten sie mit einer bemerkenswerten Idee zurück: dem Aufbau einer Suppenküche für Straßenkinder in der kältesten Hauptstadt der Welt. Ohne jegliche Erfahrung, aber mit unermüdlichem Einsatz und grenzenlosem Mitgefühl machten sie sich an dieses lebensverändernde Unterfangen.
Zwei Jahrzehnte später, schauen sie in diesem Dokumentarfilm gemeinsam auf den Aufbau von Bayasgalant, Kinderhilfe Mongolei zurück.
Kann eine Reise dein Leben verändern? Ja und zudem auch jenes von Hunderten von Kindern. Ein ergreifender Film, der die Geschichte dieser vier außergewöhnlichen Frauen erzählt, die allen Widrigkeiten zum Trotz den Mut hatten, etwas zu verändern. Selbst als von allen Seiten Zweifel aufkamen.
