Love your new car. I’m very envious indeed. We are looking to sell our T6.1 Campervan and move to a car and caravan setup and I would love a Disco 5. I just don’t think I have the courage to do it given the reputation. I really hope you have no issues with it and get many years of happy motoring from it. What else did you consider out of interest? I have the VW Touareg, BMW X3/X4/X5 & 530d Tourer, and the Audi A6 and A6 Allroad on my list. I’ve always said if I got a caravan I would have a large diesel engine. I’ve had the 3.0d BMW engine in a few previous cars and it’s one of the best engines I’ve experienced. We love Stratford-Upon-Avon too. Looking forward to your next video! Safe travels.

I have had 7 Discoveries starting with a D3 and now have the latest D5. I have had 3 D5’s and not really had any issues. They are great cars but big cars that need looking after. Mirrors, the best ones I have found are Milenco Grand Aero Platinum , they have sprung metal brackets with rubber feet to secure to the mirror. I have gone one step further and added a small piece of old bike inner tube to the fixed part of the clamp and they are really good.

Hi there, just started watching your vlogs. You two are totally awesome with the way you have taken to caravanning. Awesome reversing skills. We simply can’t manage without our motor movers nowadays. I think we were probably more laid back about everything years ago as younger caravanners. The Camping and Caravanning Club have a lovely site in Delamere Forest in Cheshire. Your boys would love riding bikes there and it’s great for dog walking. There is Gruffalo Trail, a ZogTrail and a Go Ape course. Delamere has a fab visitor centre with a cafe/restaurant, ice cream and pizza sellers etc and nearby is Delamere Station with a tea room and trains go to Chester and Manchester. It may be a great place for your family.❤

Great looking car I have had an evoque for the past 6 year and it’s been no more unreliable than any other car I have owned look after it change the oil every 6 to 8 thousand miles use premium fuel and I am sure you will be fine enjoy

Tow car looks stunning, Fingers crossed you have no issues with it. I think someone mentioned EMUK mirrors they are excellent but a little more expensive. The Milenco Grand aero platinum are also very good mirrors. Towing covers are a good investment (IMO) Specialised covers or Protec. They do help to keep the front of the van clean and help to protect it from stone damage

EMUK mirrors are apparently the best you can get. I'm thinking of upgrading from Milenco...

Try the EMUK towing mirrors. Expensive but they are custom fit 😀

Cadbury’s is the best chocolate you just can’t beat it. I do agree though that Cadbury’s Easter egg chocolate is just amazing though I don’t know what they put in it 😂

I have the same Discovery.. you’ll love it.. As for the mirrors I bought MILENCO Grand Aero Flat Mirrors - Twin Pack, no vibration easy to fit..

Last year, after 30 years of owning a Land Rover, I changed to a Mazda cx60 3.3 diesel... great car, but I really miss owning a Land Rover, and yours looks brilliant.

If you have had the tow bar on it MAY have been worse, it may have damaged the tow bar or crash bar....on the other hand, we all make mistakes ooooops..

Look forward to the surprise guys, we would also love to do France but it’s just affording it, our storage yard is the same it’s on a bloody farm and it’s a proper sh1t hole, im on a waiting list for a nicer one but I’ve been on it for two years 😅, are you still doing the van conversion?

Happy new year, we are the same, we haven't been away since the autumn, too busy with work and life but we are away at sherwood pines the end of Jan. Enjoy 2025 guys let's hope it's drier than last year.

Lovely video, you look a lovely family, yes water safe to drink but only if you have scrupulously cleaned your on board tank and all internal pipes with Periclean and do it on a regular basis. You can’t beat an Isabella awning they always look so smart . Re the poles it may have been previously used on a seasonal pitch and people tend to use double poles in that case x

A bit of advice from a HGV driver, you need to get the caravan and van straight before you reach the bay, even if it means reversing from the left, it will make it a lot easier to get it in

When we bought our first caravan last year I made sure we included 4wd motor movers in the price of our twin axle. That saved an awful lot of stress I can’t tell you. I reverse where I can, but most of the time I just cheat and use the motor movers. Out of interest how do you find towing with the camper van? I’ve been toying with the idea of replacing my Range Rover with a 4 motion VW Cali hence why I ask.

Love Weymouth, we stayed at Moreton camping and caravan club site and got the train to Weymouth. Really nice site can hear the trains a little but didn't matter to us.

Well done for starting out, we’ve all been there. From someone who’s had a Cadac Fire, I wouldn’t use one inside my awning. Good luck in your caravan adventures 👍

Sound deadening only works on flat panels. You don't get any verberation on corrugated panels
