You have wife but still felt lost in life? :/ Oh man. Many don't have wifes / gfs. Some don't even have friends. :/ I wonder how I could apply your advice to my life.
2:35 thats exactly what my husband toled me about his childhood, preschool friens and him making their own surroundings a playground, allways being outside no matter the weather when it was raining they would take cardboards out of trashbinns, go to a small hill and slide on it inside a mud hole underneath. His mother would undress him in front of the door of their appartment leaving all of his muddy clothes outside and carry him at arms length to the bathtub and cleaning him under the shower an every day Ritual he became an Archaeologist and in Germany in spring and autumn excavations are often e muddy job
Ok...now let me tell you how i happened to get to now my husband... I was sitting on the stairs in front of my introduction to ancient greek Archaeology at University of Köln, my very first year, and there was a student sitting in front of me, studying his hand written vocabulary cards, and they we're written in greek language, which i knew because some year ago i visited Greece, was very impressed by culture and people, and wanted to return to Greece but next time being able to at least have some small talk with Greeks which back then did not speak very well English. So i asked the Student sitting in fromt of me If he was learning Greek and he toled me that he was learning ancient Greek because he neded it for his studies of Ancient History. So i toled him i was planning to learn modern Greek language, so he informed me that there were Modern Greek lessons at university starting soon and that he could tell me were and when if i liked. So we started to learn Greek together. Him because he was planning to study abroad in Thessaloniki because one of his Ancient Greek History Professors came from Thessaloniki University in Greece. Me because i wanted to learn modern Greek language for travelling. And for First time i had a real good language teacher who insisted in not letting us learn one single word of modern Greek as long as everybody did not spell everything perfectly. So we went through his university level modern Greek bootcamp like for 3 weeks and some students even dropped the lessons because he was so insisting on the perfect spelling. All this came us handy because one year later my friend did part to University of Thessaloniki to study there for one year and i stayed for 1/2 a year, noticed that my modern greek was not good enough to attend the Greek Archaeology lessons, went to the Glotology /Philology department and asked if they would let me visit the lessons for Italian language and culture and they allowed it. So i kame back from Greece speaking perfect Italian because all Professors at Italian Philology Department were Italian mother tongh speakers and all Greek costudents spoke Italian quite well 😅
0:35 Hi little brother, i made a small research for you, there ist a greek man called Ioannis Stratakis who, has in my opinion, the perfekt spelling of ancient greek language and he has a YT channel called Podium-Arts Enjoi! Greetings from your older sis
Amish families in the US have very strong immune systems because they are constantly around animals and dirt (although they also are prone to some horrible illnesses since they won't get vaccinated/get medical help). You're definitely onto something
@jenm1 you're spot on. Amish people already know it? that's interesting though i think we sometimes need to get vaccinated and take pills. we need to be around nature such as dirt, insects, and even bacteria for our health and more. All is there is there for us.
@@noeditedkorean I agree
4:42 😮38kg I was always very into labour protection and everything above 18kg should be transported with two persons because its very harmfull load for your innervertebral discs... one friend of mine had to give up her job as a bookseller because, from very young age, she had often to transport cartoons with books(they weigh usually around 22kg) after having two herniated discs... please if possible use 18kg weights making two weight lifts instead?
@InstantKiwi1005 yeah. you're right. I don't lift heavy load instead I focus only on workout volumes. my squat maximum is above 150kg(not pounds). I have been doing lower body workouts regularly for more than four years, and this kettlebell is not heavy to me. i can swing this at least 30-40 times in one session but for safety i do it slowly with less number like 20 times and if overtrained i skip at least two days. since i didn't go to the gym anymore for being busy these days. I started such routine at my workplace. don't worry. my body is trained(you know I sprint uphills or go hiking regularly). as a result, I got a heavy lower body owing to enough muscle at my back, glute, and thigh(that's why my legs look much shorter than other people, haha). anyway, i was thinking about buying a heavier one.
@noeditedkorean ok you know your body best, If there are enough muscles protecting the joints there ist always a better chance of not hurting onself. i noticed you keeping a good posture while working out
2:55 i tend to loose my to do lists :) now my new habit is to check these lists when i find them, lets say, one year later and usually i did do everything on the list... probably for me writing everything down once is enough to later on remember what to do somehow
haha you'd better need a digital to do list. as for me i don't write to-do list. instead if there is something i should do just do it right away or at least work on that thing.
am from pakistan
hi
❤❤
11:55 #Antifragile I liked the passage you underlined on your book about errors And who does never make errors at all? There are so many persons who claim to be flawless and perfect but if you pay attention on their actions you will sooner or later notice that many of them are accustomed to blame others for their faults, trying to sweep their faults and errors under the carpet or feisting on the flaws they notice on others. Makes them feel superior to others and they love others feeling miserable by pointing out their errors. As I am usually absent-minded while fulfilling boring tasks' i am so used to make errors, and I am used to doublecheck all my tasks i prepare If working in teams. But even then i can't erase all errors I make. So never mind, I do absolutely understand what you are going through. We must stop having so many unattainable expectations and applying so much pressure on ourselves to be always perfect on everything
"trying to sweep their faults and errors under the carpet or feisting on the flaws they notice on others. Makes them feel superior to others and they love others feeling miserable by pointing out their errors." i needed to read this several times and think it over for a while. that's deep. that's a truely deep thought. Personally, I prefer someone who shows their flaws and laughs rather than someone who dresses up nicely and doesn't smile. We can all be better than we are. The trick is to reveal your true self. If the problem is hidden from the public, it can never be fixed.
11:40 your welcome :) basicaly I toled you due to my egotistical motivation, based on the fact, that i like listening to you and the topics you bring up while you brouse through your bookshelf, if there is no sound i can't listen to you Whenever I visit frieds, i would stand in front of their bookshelf, asking about some books i never heard of or if we have got matching books I would ask them on chapters that inspired them and why or if they could recomment me some books
Right. A person's bookshelf is a clear representation of their personality and interests. So sometimes i feel embarrassed to show my bookshelf to others.
@@noeditedkorean in older times in Germany there we're housholds with only 2 books 'The Bible' and Adolf Hitlers 'Mein Kampf' gives me the chilles when it start thinking about their mindset... but i can reassure you that not so many did read 'Mein Kampf' everyone got one when people getting married, so it was not a bestseller but a giveaway mostly -i remember my husband saying that there were only tho books he stopped reading because they we're completely inconsistent and completely irrational, he was speaking of the books i mentioned above. Interesting i remember that i, at the age of 17, tried to read both books and had exactly the same outcome, i had to stop reading them, mostly because i got bored and confused after finishing chapter one...
@InstantKiwi1005 in Korea here are some people who also read Hitler's this one. okay, we are just curious of what this book actually is about. free society we live in, right? banning itself is the problem, I guess. I love freedom more than anything, and even books about no freedom should absolutely be open to everybody. I despise any censorship by any excuse.
@@noeditedkorean fun fact at fascist Germany the censored book lists were the longest, they even did collected the books on their lists, piled them up on the streets and burned them - i can't feel any respekt for people / political leaders who do such things / order others to do this. I downloaded the list of all banned books by fascists and will read them all as soon as i find some time to do so
10:22 #JordanPetetson #MapsOfMeaning as this seems to be his 'opus magnum' I am still insegure if i can stand the topic emotionaly, heared of this book in some radio podcasts ad the topic is so interesting so i decided to start with #BeyondOrder #12RoolsForLive thank you for mentioning this author
This book should be considered a kind of textbook. It's so abstract and rigid. Of course, if you've seen his video lecture series like I did, it shouldn't be that hard to understand. In any case, I'd recommend his sequels, which you listed, easier and more comfortable to read.
7:38 #NassimTaleb #FooledByRandomness ok i wanted to start with #Antifragile but as the author wrote the book on randomness first i will change my plans and read Antifragile second
haha it takes too long for me to finish it. i read very slowly.
7:00 #AldousHuxley #BraveNewWorld yes i read the book at school i don't remember If we read the original english book but I am sure that i have the German translation at home i was 15 years old when i read it and i loved the book back then - i am putting it on my to do list for 2025, checking if i have the original Text at Home, if not buy one in english and read it again thank you for reminding me of this book greetings from old sis
I just read in Korean. I still struggle to read in English. Anyway, Brave New World was the first book I read a few years ago when my wife was in the hospital after a brief illness, and I remember reading it in one fell swoop because I was so hooked on it than I thought. Since then, I have often occasionally taken it out and read any verse.
So i am not alone with this method bying the original Text and the german translation There ist even a German Editor, called Reclam Verlag, who ist specialized in small pocket books for scholars with the original text and the German translation on matching pages original on the left page - translation on the right page I have to check but i think they started with Opera Libretti (mostly Itallian - German) texst's and then they translated all Latin writers like: Julius Cesar 'de bello gallico', Tacitus 'germania' all Roman philosophers, and soon expanded to English authors beginning with William Shakespeare's poems and screenplays
I envy you. There are some older books and literature that have both Korean and English versions in their original versions, too in Korea. However, not so much. And it is even more rare to find a book that is not an English-speaking book, but a book with original texts in German, French, Japanese, Chinese, etc.
Hi Mr No Edit, i really love your #TerminalBookReadingAproach I saw the film #Terminal many years ago because i like seeing films with #TomHanks and i have a quite personal connection because my father is a Hungarian, he worked as a chemotechnitian in a German company when Hungary was still 'under russian maintainance' when he was done with his work his very company tried to get rid of him sending him back to communist Hungary - back then he was member of an international club called 'Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft' and the moment he decided not to go back to soviet Hungary, all the members helped him to get a lawyer to ask for 'political asylum' so he could stay in Germany and he became a stateless Person like Tom Hals charakter in the film And me 😅 I was born in Spain and had the Spanish citizenship but when my mother returned to Germany, German state refused to give me the german citizenship because i was the daughter of a stateless person... So I was Spanish until I was 7 years old, became German after that, at the age of 16 Spanish state contacted me offering me the Spanish citizenship and I was so happy for this, but my mother begged me not to give away my German citizenship because she went through a bourocratic nightmare to aquire the German passport for me
The more I listen, the more I think reality is more brutal and cruel than in the movies. If you open TH-cam, people will be able to listen to a lot of interesting stories from you.
@@noeditedkorean thank you for suggesting to start postng myself, but as you see i am mostly struggeling with written English, after posting i usually return to check on my texst's and find so many misspellings... If its ok for you i would stay on your channel practicing my writing skills If all works out i will start a 'fixing my garden' challenge based on permaculture principles on Instagram by february 2025 but i have to buy and read two books written by the Australian inventor of this gardening method before starting
I hope to see more of your content in the future
I will do that. Have a nice Christmas. ;)

Thank you for mentioning japanese singer Matsuda Seiko, beautiful voice and very clear spelling - i think its a quite good base to start learning Japanese with her songs
Nice to hear that you know her! I'm also trying to buy and read Haruki Murakami's essay named "走ることについて語るときに僕の語ること", though I haven't even read a page yet...
2:13 could you please show us your mobile whashing car, is it your own invention or are there other companies like yours offering similar service - never heard of something similar before and it is a very smart solution bringing a bathroom to the peoples house. A surprising service and i imagine others woud also be interested in how this car looks inside and how it works greetings from older sis
Mobile bathing vans are a common sight in South Korea. maybe i'm gonna show you around this car in one of my later videos. mages similar to ours is as follows. www.bing.com/images/search?q=%EC%9D%B4%EB%8F%99+%EB%AA%A9%EC%9A%95%EC%B0%A8+%EB%82%B4%EB%B6%80&qs=n&form=QBIR&sp=-1&lq=0&pq=%EC%9D%B4%EB%8F%99%20%EB%AA%A9%EC%9A%95%EC%B0%A8%20%EB%82%B4%EB%B6%80&sc=0-9&cvid=A582029D7AF8489D8EEB9CF05E1CF69A&ghsh=0&ghacc=0&first=1&cw=2108&ch=1060
@noeditedkorean thank you for the link! I've never seen trucks like these in Europe until now. What we have are shipping containers with toilets and showers for people working on construction areas, and also shipping containers equipped with a small shower bathroom and two beds for workers to avoid living costs near construction areas
This was one of your first films i whatched Last 30 years I had often to use these because we were often working on projekts in other cities, often our friday routine after work I dont know why but I allways liked sitting down, hearing the whashing mashines, having some coffe reading a book, and as i like reading books so i have a positive aproach to this public laundromat places last time i used one of these was 2023 on hollidays when we went hiking in Südtirol/Italy
I often go to a local laundromat on Saturdays and whenever i'm full of clutter in my mind. and these place in this video I prefer more to other laundromats because i don't need coins. Other than than i've never used any of these abroad. I also love to listen to the mechanical sound when the drum spins and watch it for a while. from there time flows slow.
Hi Mr Antifragile, thanks for second dried squid talk, to be honest i never heard of the author you are planing to read as a challange, i looked it up, noticed that in US its a bestseller and thought about it if i would join your challange to read this book, then i checked one german book review, the tanslation here has 1500 pages... The two guys dooing the review needed 1 1/2 month to read the book and described it distopic, with extremly long dialogues, Persons of the 1% ritchest and most charismatic artists and architects meeting on an island reashuring each other that it is best to distance themselves from dumb and lazy humankind... I am not shure it's a book i would be enjoing reading, sorry for that - do you know the film 'Don't look up' takes the theme one step further while a catastrofe menaces mankind the powerfull people are trying to maintain the status quo as long as possible and then sneaking away the moment they get a ticket on a rocket to leave earth... A very sarcastic but also very disturbing film I whish you a good day yours older sis
Don't look it up, yeah i heard of that movie and watched a movie review, very sarcastic and funny. i kind of like that. as far as stupidity of future humanity is concerned, you need to check out "Idiocracy", that's the best commedy i guess. On the other hand, I think (not even halfway through my reading but) Atlas Shrugged is not that kind of simple criticism of stupid people but rather serious about what's the right ethical foundation for human freedom and progress even though plot is somewhat black and white. i realize many people hate this novel and author was often misunderstood and attacked. i don't care what people might think of that work. anyway thanks for your reviewer's summary of the book. that was so hilarious haha.
@@noeditedkorean yes i now Idiocraciy this Film ist funny but a little bit superficial. Do you know the Film 'Brazil' very black brittish humor. After seeing this film for me it was clear i would never ever get plastic surgery... Probably if I find an english audio book version on our library i would be willing to give the book you recommended a chance. First book i will read next year is 'Atomic Habits'
You are blessed living in a region with naturally grown forrests, in my region most of the forests are economocaly exploited monocultures called 'Bayerische Staatsforsten' trees planted in rows to be used for construktion, heating, to sell them to the higest bidder, it is possible to go hiking there, but because of climate change this trees had to suffer lots of heat stress and some bugs are doing severe damage to the trees and to contain the damage manny forests had to be cut down leaving vast, deserted landskapes - i have noticed that it is difficult to rest your mind in places like this. there is still the smell, the green coloures, the sound of the wind in the leaves, but it feels artificial nevertheless
beautifull landscape indeed! Sometimes taking the view out of some distance pertmits us a clearer view on the things that matter to us or that are haunting us
Hi Mr Antifragile, could you please check on the sound of this video, sound is mute, if possible please reload, all best from old sis
l completely lost my voice for this video due to the external mic problem.😢😢😢 this video is not going to be removed, but I will try this once more.
@@noeditedkoreanthank you!
Hello Mr Antifragile, thank you for the radiohead hashtag - normaly my brain tends to load up musik by ist own while streaming videos... I had Creep song nearly the whole day in my mind Do you know Fools Garden - Lemontree some days ago someone was speaking about Isolation so my brain uploaded the song Lemontree for the whole day... so i would think I joined your wierdos club long time ago I was lucky to meet my husband long time ago, an introvert, struggeling when he has to deal with many people at once, causing high stress levels and the need to being left alone as a coping mechanism I would describe myself being a missfit and there are some hints of ADHD being involved (hyperfocus vs prokrastination, konstantly misplacing and loosing things but the Gift of emmediately finding one book i need inside a huge pile of random things, interested in everything but fullfilling the repetitive everyday tasks, I love books, musik, arts and hate interacting with burocrats an narrow minded people) we are also living in a very rural part of Germany near Spessart Woods in a small village near Würzburg (Bavaria) since 3 years with no friends or family in the region Fortunately our neighbours are not being as rude as you had too endure for 10 years at your place People tend to be not very konsistent in their actions. now the people who we're acting against you noticed that they could be needing the assistance your company in providing and started networking with you? Human nature ist sometimes quite disapointing... greetings from old sis stay healthy
Sister, welcome back. Thanks for your long and thoughtful comment again. looking back honestly, I need now to admit that part of the reason why i had been neglected here was due to my attitude toward the rural people. this town people are just tougher and more direct when it comes to expressing their feeling and emotion than the people I usually met in big cities. However, everywhere you go here korea or abroad, people are almost the same. they're not consistent in their attitude. that's good thing though because if I'm willing to open myself to them then they're willing to open to me.
I had a similar ruotine of walking by myself to my job through fields and nature in the mornings with nobody around or depending on my shift returning home when it was dark, so beautifull, walking under the stars only light, when the moon was shining, twice a day having half an hour all by myself. walking through nature was very healthy. best way to get rid of introusif thoughts
Your evening routine is awesome! Winter time these days also in korea you can see clear night sky unlike other days in spring with lots of dust flown from the east coast of China (much of it was caused by manufacturing industry).
19:44 hilarious the moment you found your glasses you forgot there yesterday
haha. I think in South Korea nobody is willing to take other's belongings even iphone.
Interesting thoughts, you woun't scare away other introverts or people who love thinking or watching others think
sorry for my unorganized, fragmentary thoughts. thank you very much!
Thank you for this video. I like your calm way to communicate your thoughts
thanks a lot! i'm about to go hiking again today (no recording though).
Delivery heaven indeed! This very dish is allready on my 'to eat list' for some time - planing to visit SK with my husband in 2026
this dish is one of my favorite. and if you eat out at some descent restaurant here, then it's gonna be much better than the one delivered like mine. ;)
Hi Mr Antifragile, in Germany there is a similar club called Alpenverein for people who like to hike the huge german mountains the alpes we share with Austria and Swizerland i know an Author who did write some guides for hikers and he explained me that the clubs fees are mainly used for maintaining the paths and the shelters on the moutains - there are many persons who go hiking alone here even if there are guided tours. And then we have the Naturfreunde club which provided cheap regional bustours for hiking for young people, families. my father in law did find his first love there in the 1950th, she decided to go globetrotting, lived in Canada, America, and settled down in New Zeeland, where she runned a pub with her British husband, after divorcing him she came back to Germany in the 1990th to visit her mother and catched up with my father in law who got divorced from my husbands mother long time ago - both met again after 40 years and kept their love for hiking their hole life. So they decided to mary in their 60th and settled down at Wanka Lake NZ. happy end for two persons who were in a hikers club and found their love - I never thought of hikers clubs as a toul for finding one night relationships but at least the persons at this tours have one hobby in common - hiking in the woods - probably way more than an aranged marridge would provide
Hi, my older sister! What a heartwarming and happy story indeed! I've read it carefully many times to try to understand this. (you know my language ability haha) I'm 100% agree that hiking can be used to find true love, unlike the social issues I was talking about. You're giving a lot of insights to this younger brother in Korea.
Hi Mr Antifragile, greatings from Germany, I found you one week ago via Enzo Kim's YT chanel - liked your comment there - followed your link and found out about your own chanel and as you are much into reading books I stayd to hear what topics you would talk about - liked it and subscribed - by the way I enjoy very mutch when you are sitting in front of your book shelf at night and this time snacking some dried squid had 'visiting a friend, having a snack while having a meaningfull conversation ' vibes - thank you for that! #NightSnackDriedSquidTalk or #SquidTalk series would be something I personaly would enjoy a lot - feel free to use both hashtags if you like them - lets see if YT algorithm likes squid related hashtags now that 2. bro, cheer up. All is well in the end no matter what you do, even if what you want now is to quit. Just keep it real, man. life is short.
Wea can we buy these
You can purchase it anywhere online in Korea. This product is very expensive, specifically designed and manufactured fo business, so unlike household products, it can dry clothes quickly, but it also takes up a lot of electricity. thus it does not work with general electricity. Since it requires high power, we will have to start with the construction of an electrical extension.
Spending time with family
