Yeah I have, I actually put it back in the original no reverse mode. To activate reverse you'd brake, then go to neutral and brake again and the second push of the trigger forward backs the car up. With drifting there's a bunch of times where (and I'm used to not using the drift button is why) i'd push the trigger foward multiple times like they would do "multiple e-brake stabs" in real drifting and the car activates reverse on the second push and inadvertently spins the car out

@ Ok thanks for the info, I have a Red Cat Rds drift, I ask you is it very similar to the 4-tec drift? My 4-tec drift arrives tomorrow directly from Traxxas. The 4-tec drift is easy to drive, I don't want to be disappointed and end up returning it.

If the HPI body is 200mm (because they sometimes have the same body in 190 and 200 variations) then it'll fit flush to the wheels, if you run a 190mm body you'll have a little bit of wheel poke, or you'll have to run aftermarket wheels with less offset. you can probably do the magnet / velcro mounts from other companies on here. I've used the "stealth magnet body mount" kit from ebay on all my MST cars and they're all slightly different and I've been able to get it to work on every one of them

I've always been a Traxxas fan but I can definitely see how you have that perspective. I feel like their new stuff has been way more bullet proof and well engineered. I feel like you're getting much better value for the dollar these days

If you have the original clipped shorter wheelbase stampede it won't work however if you have the Hoss, Stampede 4x4 BL-2S, or the current generation Stampede 4x4 VXL then you could absolutely put these body mounts on and make those clipless. I believe the only thing you'd have to do, unless you have them, is put on the HD shock towers so you have the mounting points

Eh, I mean to each their own. So far the only car that it seems to be a miss on is the Mudboss / Slash Modified since it pops the clips sometimes, and I guess you could put the Rally in that category since I've had a few folks break the clip system on the body side. Everything else has held on quite well and I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on them from families and enthusiasts

@@rcfixit9050 Since that comment my friends and I have bought two more, we now have 3 Typhon blx 223s between us. Fantastic performance for the money (and in general) but we have noticed they are very prone to breakage even with light use. So far we have broken the front right shock, front brace (not sure what it is called) and servo linkage arm. Still a great machine.

That would be an awesome idea for traxxas but I have a feeling this good of an idea has already been brought up on the design teams so they might be working on it rn that would be the smart thing bc the trx4 platform is already pretty good

Ive tried building one, trx4 axles are too narrow compared to smt10 or LMT axles. Plus the portal axles dont work good with really big tires, i kept breaking the C hubs off the front end. That and the panhard mount.

@brentfabian174 well yeah that's why I say with the geometry. Lowering the center of gravity by widening the wheelbase is the first step IMHO.

You're right, even in training mode it's still pretty peppy, need some room but it could be done!

It's hard to say, there was a lot of pausing to move the camera around. At absolute minimum 20 minutes. I was out there for about 45 or so shooting running footage and I didn't hit LVC.
