Submodeling in Hypermesh [Optistruct Tutorial]
In this Optistruct tutorial, we will perform submodeling in Hypermesh. This is also known as global-local analysis.
Model setup is performed in Hypermesh and the Optistruct solver is used to extract the results. The post-processing of FEA results is done using Hyperview.

Hello Sir, it's weird that after translating the nodes, the elements still look smooth on the geometry surface. Isn't it supposed to shift a bit up or down from the geometry surf? since only few element surface is moved
Thankyoju for this amazing video. Appreciate your efforts! Look forward for more.
Sir can you make optimization for modal frequency
Gracias, un gran tutorial de optimización
Could you pls send me the file for geometry. When I Tried clicking the link mentioned in description its showing not available. Please Help. @Aeroswap
Thank you very much for your help

How to incorporate variable Temperature in linear static analysis
model link expired.
What is significance of setting frequency in modal analysis?
can we have multiple bolts pretension defined under one subcase?
In Radioss 2024, when generate SPH: "mass definition" it's material density (when you choose Method: Material density). I write this because I was thinking - density automatically will get from material property's, and "definitions" is specific equation for calculating mass. All works. Thanks for tutorials, Aeroswap!
Missing the CAD model

can you tell me dof 2 = 20 ( at the rigid part) mean?
Hi great video. I try to import the csv file as you have showed but the curve editor is empty. Do you have any suggestion? Or can you show the table in the file csv? Many thanks
Great video!
Hi CZAD!!! I have questions. Why in matrials is 710000? Why not 71000 Please replay
Can you please do a video creating external acoustic cavity mesh in hypermesh
Please Come back brother. Everyone waiting you. You and your videos most beatiful serious on the internet.
Hello, I would like to know if you don't have a video teaching explicit dynamic analysis, with the expdyn optistruct subcase, for materials mat1 / matx, matx27, matx33, matx36, thank you.

Can u pls explain adhesive integrity analysis
Hi, I use LUSAS for my FEM analysis and was struggling to get plastic material properties (Slope / Hardening gradient Vs Total Strain) for Non linear analysis. Can you please provide some reference for the same ?
One of great TH-cam channel on FEM I ever seen ❤
Sir , CAD file link is not correct . Please provide this
not able to find eigrl card against the card name..please help
Hey! Try using the search bar (CNTRL + F). It might be available as a loadcollector type if I'm not wrong. They keep switching the card locations with almost every update of the solver. I hope this helps!
do you give private lessons ?
Dear Sir, Thank you for these great videos. If you may have some related paper, I request you to also share the validation of these results from literature.
I used one model for static structural analysis, can i use same model for this crash analysis also
While creating the rigid wall it is getting created in groups tab of model tree, how can I get rid of this..?
Hi I am sorry for out of topic Did you know why the Hypermesh is so heavy application I have Hypermesh 2023 suite in my PC (Ryzen 5600X, 16Gb RAM, RTX 3060 12Gb). My computer lagging so much even if only I import geometry The geometry is a simple small 1Part (motorcycle shock absorber head) Actually there is nothing suspicious in the Windows Task manager (CPU 10~20%, RAM 50%) I don't know why this can possibly happen Is there anything that I can do to make the application lighter?
Hi there, My PC is 16GB RAM as well, and it's almost 5 years old now. I have absolutely no problem using HyperWorks on my PC. The application is smooth, I think something is wrong with the settings used to run the application on your machine. I'm not an expert in hardware things so I don't think I can help much in this regard. Maybe someone else can pitch in!
@@Aeroswap hi I made a video about it th-cam.com/video/m7xSzEJfhRA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sdqG4riFy4-m12Oe I don't really know exactly what happen. I already uninstall then install it again but the problem still occur Interestingly I installed in my laptop i5 gen 9, RAM 16Gb, RTX1650 (all spec is lower than my PC) The software run smoothly
Hi, Very good video and thank you for your time. One suggestion I would like to make however, is to highlight how important it is that the linear part of the curve only contains 2 points: the origin (0,0) and the first yield point. You see, I spent hours to realise this because I imported an experimental curve that had more than two points in the linear part and I was getting the following error: * ERROR # 3021 * The plastic material data specified on the TABLES1 bulk data entry ID=1 is invalid. The slope after the initial yield point is not less than the Young's modulus. All the best.
Hi, can you please share CAD model link. Thanks in advance.
Cad model download link is expired, can u pls let that model available.
Bro please do 1000 - 10000 videos on Hypermesh/HyperWorks tutorials. Your videos are wonderful and Invaluable. Its my humble request Please and don't forget to upload the modep files in description which you used in the TH-cam videos
Please do bro I support your contents and don't forget to upload the model files in description during each and every tutorial in youtube
I am looking forward to your content in Hypermesh
Do all workbenches, Radios , Optistruct , CFD , FEA , car 🚗 crash test, etc .
Don't stop till 10000 - go till million videos in Hypermesh/ Hyperworks cover all the workbenches in it
sir curse ditel send and contact link
sir LS Dayna ki Coching karni he
sir plz send contact no
sir send contact no
Could I ask you , whether there is any 'contact' between the layers when you create a multi-layer material model like this?
Hi there, This method of composite modeling creates a bonded laminate from a stack of plies. It cannot predict debonding. It is only applicable to linear analysis, hence no contacts are involved. I hope this helps!
Hello, do optimstruct support transient topology optimization for structures? Do you have any relevant case recommendations? I attempted to use modal superposition method for transient analysis and topology optimization based on it, but kept reporting errors in response settings (both transient and static responses were not feasible). How should I consider its optimization objectives and constraints? thanks!
Hey there, This is a really good question. I have never tried to do something like this myself. Even if Optistruct does not support transient loads for topology optimization, it is possible to split the load in multiple different loadcases and use weighted compliance for topology optimization. I know that this is a simplification of the problem and we are making an assumption that the load gets applied gradually so that intertia effects can be ignored. However, I don't know another method to do this as of now. I will look into this and let you know if I find something useful. Thanks!
@@Aeroswap Okay, thank you. I will continue to explore and look forward to your reply
Destination Element not found error even though following the same procedure as you on same component, Can you guide me what's wrong here ?
Hello, How would you go about applying a spring to the suspension system? say to the lower suspension arm?
Hey there, Great question! I will model it using a 1D spring element of required stiffness. Connect it to the rest of the structure using RBE3 elements for load transfer.
@@Aeroswap What elem type would you use and what card element for the property? The spring im trying to make doesn't need have a damper its just a spring with sitffness of 300N/mm
CELAS or CBUSH maybe. I think some of the element types also allow damping. It has been a long time since I have modeled anything like this so I do not remember which element type it was. I might have to check the documentation myself on this one.
