Any update to your favorites?

Only played Kanban and On Mars. Love both so much. Need Lisboa next.

Short of the RPGs, this game is the definitive tool kit for tabletop Marvel. My only tiny nitpicks are cards that trigger off particular team designations, which force a choice between optimization and creativity; and some of the artwork, which depicts modern versions of characters I would rather have had classic versions of. Love this game; all-in 'til OOP, except for cinematic universe.

Good place to leave it. This lucid, earnest effort is exemplary of the solve. Are we oriented toward truth? Are we tent-pitching short of the aim? Selfishness and altruism are only opposed when one has misidentified with their ego alone. When we see that I and thou are one, intrinsically linked, then our concept of self includes all others, and our selfishness becomes our altruism.

Please, for your own sake, do not wait "10-20 years" to play your copy of Roads & Boats! This is a game that should definitely be played at least a few times a year. It's simpler than you think it is to teach!

Yup. 2 Years later I'm glad I didn't get the miniatures. Even though the wooden meeples are not screen printed I still like them more than what I'm seeing the mini's look like. Haven't cracked open the campaign yet but I'm fully loving the base game and the leaders and lore pack.

I end up having most of my games sleeved. But I have a small collection and would only sleeve if: a) something needs to be shuffled a lot (wear and tear) b) marked cards for deduction/bluffing would be a problem c) I am convinced I still want to play this in 10+ years.

hate sleeving btw, but i do it occasionally, not all cards feels better sleeves either

i never eat around my cards or let anyone touch them eating, and i always wash my hands before playing even if they are not particularly dirty, soft drinks are ok IF they are sleeved, alcohol i never allow nesr to my cards, ever (not talking about braindead card games like uno or a standard deck of normal cards...

I never used to sleeve anything until a few years ago. When I really got into board game and realized how expensive they are.

To me i have....to sleeve i don't touch the Game if i don't put sleeves first but i understand your point You put more Price to the Game and if You wanna sell the Game they don't wanna pay for the sleeves Even if You Say that the Game have sleeves

Give me standees. Games get too expensive with excessive amounts of minis.

I started with Food Chain Magnate as a first Splotter. However, of course it wasn’t my first heavy game. Coming from Twilight Struggle, Sekigahara, SW Rebellion, Blood Rage type games FCM is fine. Don’t make it your first heavy game or if you prefer low interaction but I think for many it’s a very fine first choice.

I wasn't a huge proponent of sleeving... until a friend joined our board game group who had oily hands. Love the guy to death and he is great fun at the table but my cards, my poor cards.

Its only too late for those who dont have deep pockets.

Of the ones I’ve played, On Mars, The Gallerist, Kanban EV, Weather Machine. Strangely the number plays influences the rank. I’m waiting for one of my heavy game groups to bring Lisboa to the table. Not sure if I have interest in playing CO2 or Escape. I did back Inventions.

I feel your pain. Yes "the first ding" is a right of passage whenever you buy something new. I know it's been a year, but I'm sending supportive nerd-hugs. I had a custom neoprene gaming mat made to cover my table when gaming.

I got 1 friend to play all big campaigns and i have groupe in work. So basically we are playing what doesnt have any more content arriving. We played Sleeping Gods 2 times, Massive Darkness 2 campaing (6 players work groupe but it was hard to get all people all the time) Zombicide Washington Z.C, Oathsworn, Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon + Last knight, Sword & Sorcery Ancient Chronicles, Bloodborne campaigns from core box and 2 expansions. Right now next in line is Etherfield (with friend) and ISS Vanguard at work (3 people)

Why you are talking so different since some time ?

Not hard for me to finish campaign games. I only ever have 2 going, one with a dedicated gaming group and another with my spouse. We are currently working through Oathsworn and halfway done and I am starting Sleeping God: DS with the wife after just finishing Pimeval Peril. When we are about to finish a campaign, we just together decide what looks interesting next and usually go by rating/hype and then research mechanics if the theme is appealing enough. Sometimes, we take a break from campaigns during the interlude and play single-shot games until we decide on our next campaign or wait for its arrival. We do fall behind on the hype train but this also allows us to get these campaign game used and cheaper. And if we can't get to them, no sweat since the next big one will come along soon enough. We've completed all the Pandemic Legacy, Clank Legacy, Adventure Tactics, Gloomhaven and JotL, Tainted Grail, 7th Continent, Scythe RoF, Chronicles of Crime, and prob several more I can't think of right now.

So far, I've played and finished Pandemic 1 & 2, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Jaws of the Lion, Machi Koro Legacy, Zombicide: Washington ZC, and (as of Monday night!) Ticket to Ride; due to life events, we've stalled out on The King's Dilemma, Mice & Mystics, Dice Throne Adventures, and Vagrantsong. King's Dilemma will be tough to get back to, but the other three we'll likely restart as two-player campaigns since they allow for that player count, saving Vagrantsong for spooky season (and the revamped rulebook with the new Kickstarter expansion campaign). But on top of those, we've also got Rise of Fenris, Gloomhaven, Pandemic Season 0, Sleeping Gods, and both Zombicide: Fort Hendrix and Rio Z Janerio all waiting to be cracked open. I usually think of scenario-driven games in the same breath as campaigns, since we tend to not replay them often (if at all) and will explore them in big bursts while the rules are fresh, so on top of all that we've got Deranged, Destinies, Mansions of Madness, Near and Far, and Return to Dark Tower. (Phew!) So all that to say... I think it depends on three things for us. Is the regular group ready and cleared to meet consistently for a few weeks, assuming you don't already, which our group doesn't because we're all theatre people and will often have overlapping periods of conflicting work schedules. What weight are you feeling at a given time? (If we want to dive into something long but lighter, maybe we'll pull out a Zombicide campaign or Dice Throne; if we're looking for some meat, maybe it's time to dust off Mice & Mystics or break into Sleeping Gods.) And we often will commit to larger games when it feels "seasonally" appropriate. (Maybe we'll save Sleeping Gods until the summer for that escapist, twisted vacation vibe, or Destinies for mid-winter when the cold and long nights will lend itself to some fantasy storytelling.) The short version of all that (too late), is really a gut check-when we look at the game, are we excited to start it? And for larger commitments like campaign games, if we get that rush of excitement thinking about the prospect of exploring that world for a bit, then it's probably time to do so.

I'm in the middle of Middara as a solo campaign that I'm going to have to start over, because I made the mistake I warn everyone else about. My group has just started Vagrantsong and we're about to start King's Dilema because it came into our circle through a Christmas present. However, all of that is on hold, becuase we're are about 6-8 scenarios from finishing Gloomhaven and we're doing that for the next few sessions. After that we'll take a break to play some other games, some mentioned and few that I haven't. Then once, we've gotten through everything else, we'll drop into Frosthaven. With my family, we're playing through Sagrada Artisans in hopes of finishing in time for Clank Legacy 2, since we had so much fun with the first one. For a lot of these the reason I'm into them is differnet. I got Middara to review but loved it so much its in my top 3 and I adore going through the narative and seeing what happens to the characters. For my game group, its a mix of mechanics, story, and challenge. What looks like a good story and a decent challenge or puzzle will win out. One game we're looking at for the future, if we get there, is Oathsworn for that reason, Though part of why I want ot try that one is I love to see effort rewarded and the amount of work they put into that one is impressive. For my family, I want games that hit a family weight since my niece is in that group and my mom doesn't like heavier games. I choose legacy games because the story invests them in the world and helps to make the mechanics make sense. The first game we played was Charterstone and everyone loved all of the unlocks. My niece more than the rest of us; maybe not me, but its close.

I would love to get into campaign games. Though KDM is just way out of my budget. I'd maybe have to ask it for Christmas or something and just ask for nothing else lol. For me I would want there to be a good story/world to explore with well done mechanics and beautiful art and components. I am waiting on Arc's since the idea of player driven story telling and a short campaign was compelling to me. Though I do tend to be more into fantasy over sci-fi. Though Moonrakers Titan is one of my favorites with me and my gaming group so I've been playing that alot. I think I just don't know where to really look since they tend to be expensive and if I don't like the story or the world I feel like I would have wasted my money. I think right now I'm keeping my eye on KDM if I was to really get my first campaign game.

i sleeve all my games, but odd sized sleeves can be troublesome because you'll have to deal with lower quality sleeve companies such as mayday sleeves unfortunately... their quality is so poor, even with their premium line it's maddening

I've had this for years. It's good, but gets overlooked for bigger, flashier games. "Puzzle" games like this are some of my favorites.

Did this get a reprint or something? I feel like it was on my friends shelf for a long time , or maybe I've confused it with something lol?

I'v been pretty excited for this one. I got to interview Brendan McCaskell, one of the designers. I could see from talking to him how much work they put into the game. I even got to try the TTS mod and thoguht the limited view of the game it gace was fun. I sadly wasn't able to back it myself but hope to try it at some point this year. I'm especially looking forward to some of hte things he talked about that they were looking at for future expansions and added stories that might be added to the game later on.
