I used to watch movies here as a kid. I remember sprinting to the bathroom and back in the creepy downstairs.
I loved the bathrooms, a blast from the past. Have a blessed day.
Amy, I haven’t seen any posts of your travels recently. You always have a great take on the places you visit. How is your search for a new place to live going? Take care! Mike

That picture of Berlin is not Irving Berlin, but of George Gershwin. Close, but no cigar (same era, though).
I just found your channel and can't wait to see your other videos. As a life long Huntington resident, I've seen a lot of the good and the bad. I'm so grateful for your showing this Huntington treasure. At time stamp 14:00, what looks like the outside of the building was a side entrance to a former upscale furniture and interior design store. They sold furnishings comparable to what you see in the lobby.
Great, thank you for watching and the informative info.
I got the opportunity to go to this home but didn’t get to go in but it was an amazing experience seeing it regardless

Wow six dollars for coffee that is just fair and the rest of the food has what was it three or four different charges at it, gratuity, service charge, West Virginia charge, resort, etc. !!!

She was the First Lady of Country. Tammy didn't die of a blood clot. It was drugs. Richey let her lie dead on the couch most of the day before calling his lawyer, then her Dr. in Pittsburgh. Richey sat in his recliner, likely popping Valiums, with her dead on the couch. She was taken that evening to the FH on Thompson Ln where embalming erased much of the drugs, except Versed & Phenergan. Richey either intentionally ODd her or didn't properly monitor. Versed by itself can stop breathing and is rarely given outside of ambulatory surgery centers at the very least. Sheila was using Tammy's credit card out shopping before Tammy died; even a wk after her death. Hank's wife did die there just inside the front door.
My son lives in Spartanburg county SC. The surrounding area is beautiful, but home prices are pretty high for a good, solid home. I hope you can find a gem in a nice area for you to settle in.
Thank you.
Thank you Amy! Growing up in WV I never made it to the State Fair. I went to the Buckwheat Festival, the Strawberry Festival and the annual Dairy show at Jackson’s Mill. I think I am going to try and go to the Georgia State Fair. Thank you! You really captured the spirit of the fair.
Thanks for sharing. I am going to check out the other festivals you mentioned. Thanks for the kind words.

That 37,000 square feet Mansion ( it certainly was NOT a Home, but simply a Mansion) is sitting on that Mountain abandoned! Barbara and Her Husband should have stayed in that Mansion it's pathetic what She and Her Husband did,Moved out of Their Dream House and now it's rotting away because of Her stupidity.
I've always wanted to visit the font when I was younger. Now that i am much older, I don't care if i ever do. I've lost interest.
My niece and her family live in West Jefferson great community !
We love West Jefferson. Being from WV I love the mountains. Also, my fiance' is from the area and went to college in Boone. Her sister and Brother in Law have a permanent Summer Campsite at Racoon Holler. We, along with her cousin and a good friend, try to go up each summer or over labor day. We were there over July 4th and it was packed with Christmas in July. I can't wait to try it when we are there next. We had to stay in Wilkesboro during July because that was the closest Hilton Hotel I could find (I work for Hilton). I enjoyed the ride through the mountains each morning. I also love the people - including the friendly people in Wilkesboro. Thank you for another great video. You really captured the town.
Thank you for sharing, so glad you get to visit so often. I love the place, wish the housing was not so expensive, would love to live there. Have a blessed day. Blessings to you.
First time I have heard of Raccoon Holler in years , used to go there camping when I was growing up !
@@kennymaready7025 I just looked it up, looks beautiful.
@@amyxplores810 I don’t know what your budget is for a house but it would be worth looking and seeing if there was a hidden gem somewhere in the mountains. We came back late last Sunday from Warner Robins after a viewing for a friends daughter who died at 35. At about 10:30 pm traffic came to a standstill. If it wasn’t for my Fiancé job we would be moving to the mountains - either North Ga or NC. I wa so mad and stressed from the traffic. I can work pretty much anywhere there is internet. Argh!!! I hope you find the home you are looking for. God bless you!
I live in Greenville and it's interesting to see it through a visitor's eye! I'm surprised you didn't look for the Mice on Main while you were strolling downtown. I've been here for eleven years and it has changed so much in that little time frame. The Grand Bohemian opened 2 years ago and I have yet to venture inside to explore because I'm too busy riding my bike on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Greenville also has a great theater scene. Don't forget the proximity to the mountains, waterfalls and state parks that are an hour away. Thanks for featuring the restaurants I usually walk past cuz I'm not really a foodie. :)
Thanks for sharing!
Nice work. Those old historical places are memorizing
Thank you. I love them too!
Amy, good luck on your home search. It can be exciting, frustrating and tiring. I managed three different hotels in Atlanta for a Company based in Greenville. When we would have a meeting in Greenville we would go to downtown Greenville. It has really grown and has so many cool places. Much better than Atlanta. Enjoy!
Thank you!
Blowing Rock is interesting to visit. It reminds me a little bit of Highlands NC. I am not into shopping but my fiance' and her cousin love to go shopping in Blowing Rock. She grew up in North Wilkesboro and graduated from App State. So, she is familiar with the whole area. Your video on West Jefferson was interesting. Her sister and Brother in Law, who live in Charlotte, have a permanent summer campsite at Racoon Holler near West Jefferson. I love the area. I wouldn't mind living in North Wilkesboro, Boone or West Jefferson. I grew up in Morgantown WV and they are closer to the type of towns I love. But, at least for the short-term I am stuck in the crazy traffic of Atlanta.
Thank you for sharing. I love the West Jefferson area; it is so high at this point. I am looking for house and finding home prices have skyrocket. Hope things get back to normal soon.
@@amyxplores810 I know houses have gone up so much. I watched your Saluda and Teton videos. I was shocked by the average price of a home in both those towns. Of course, here in Atlanta it has gone through the roof. Good luck on finding a home in a place you want to be.
@@gretel1015 Thank you, I know God will provide. Have a blessed day.
@@amyxplores810 you too! Generally when you least expect it.
This is the second home that Barbara, and her family lived. She designed the plans for this home and her husband bulit this home for her. Then Barbara and her family moved after only fifteen years maybe a little less than that. She and her husband sold the home to John Rich . John Rich even produced a short reality series in the 2000s in the Fontanel home. In interviews Barbara in the past she said that she and her family would always stay in the Fontanel home with her family. All of sudden she moves in to a third home with her family and Barbara never looked back at Fontanel home in rare recent interviews she does not talk about this home that she desired wanted to have at that time. The last time Fontanel was sold , it was sold to a company or private investor who obviously who does not want any thing to do with the property and the home is just sitting there just rotting away and the beautiful widow celings now are just with mold. I am always going to admire Barbara Mandrell's voice but I have often wondered over years if she made the right deicison for her and her family by living in a huge home only to discover that the home that Barbara loved so much has remained empty, abandon and just rotting away. The structure of the home is still beautiful though. God Bless - Jason.
Thank you for sharing. I certainly hope they don't let go back to nature. So beautiful and special.

Roy Orbison, the singer and songwriter whose best work brought introspection and yearning to rock-and-roll, died of a heart attack Tuesday night while visiting his mother in Hendersonville, Tenn. He was 52 years old and lived in Malibu, Calif. Mr. Orbison was taken by ambulance to Hendersonville Hospital late Tuesday but could not be revived and died just before midnight, Melanie Lamb, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said. Henerson is just North of Nashville.
@amyxplores810 I know, I've been in Johnny's kitchen a couple of times *wink, I heard of Roy's death on the radio while I was in California.

Great content and narration, but back off the microphone a lil bit, the distortion takes away from yer great work here. Some have some don't, you have it, but the tech part is letting you town. BTW, I rember the crash and the night of the horrible fire.
YIKES Could you have at least picked a better format to showcase pieces that no one wants anymore..or use an occasional piece mixed with other styles. bad broadloom you could have put the pieces in a parking lot and they would have looked way better even on the front lawn..ever heard of ''PRODUCT SHOTS'' ? try it sometime
