เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ต.ค. 2012
We are Arlin and Lois. We live in South central Pennsylvania. We live on a dairy farm and milk around 290 cows. We raise all our heifers. Our 3 children, Willie, Lori and Alex all help on the farm. They all have their own places but still come home to the farm.
We also have some goats, mini horses, dogs and cats on the farm.
Come along with us and see what farm life is all about. It's not for everyone but we sure enjoy it.

😮 wow, that must be why they call it sweet milk 🥛 🤣
do you no harshman
who does your chopping
in Europe, no one really wants to buy McCornic tractors. It is supposedly an older Case MX design. The bearings used, especially in the gearbox and rear axle, are much smaller than in Case MX. in Europe, McCornic tractors are very cheap, even 2-3 years old. they are often repaired, and the wait for original parts from the factory sometimes takes over a month or two, the Italian has time. The new versions from 2021 are supposedly better with an automatic gearbox, probably made by ZF or Linde, Linde China has quite successful gearboxes.
Great video, also can you tell me, who is singing the closing song?
It is by Joyspring and the title of the song is Lift Up A Shout.
Tha@@arlofarmsThanks 😊
Sorghum looks a good crop. UK Dairy farmers would love to grow such rich crops. They have to buy Soya & Maize from you Guys 🇺🇸
Thanks for taking me along for the ride nice farm 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you for the videos. Happy anniversary...
Love the closing song. Enjoy your video's

ArlIn, just started watching videos on your farm maybe three months ago. Big farm a lot of cows. I would like to ask what breed of cows are most of them? Those markings are not pure Holstein or jersey etc. Does that make them a better milker? Is it possible to let us know who the beautiful man that was singing at the end of your previous video? I live in Western PA about 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. My grandfather uncles and now cousins are farming, but the dairy cows, 28 are gone also, just a few beef cattle. I have a few Cockshutts and internationals. Be careful, Skip
Most of our herd is Holstein or Lineback. We do have some other crosses mixed in to. We bought a bunch of calves last year from a friend of mine that were crosses. Several of them are in the group of heifers that are in this video.
What happened to your fingers
It was 2 different accidents. The first finger happened when I was 7, I got it in a jointer. The second one happened when I was 23 or 24. I got it pinched in the ramp of a cattle truck.
I'm from berks co. Where are you located?
Franklin Co.
Love the farm 😊
Appreciate your showing and explaining the types and progress of the crops and feed. Interesting stuff.
I have no idea how you find the time too make these videos. Hahaha😊. Keep them coming 😊
Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Those john deeres are good drills. Our is in the same boat as yours, need a full rebuild before next year.
I know I told you this before, but if I was still milking I would be haunting you to get some "lineback" genetics in my registered herd.
When i WAS dairying, I always thought PATZ was a "solid" brand.
They have such a beautiful red-btown color!!! Looks like they rolled around in the red clay of Oklahoma. Very cute how they're all slowly getting more curious and approaching you. Poor scaredy-cows!
Great video thank you. Such a shame that the beans have sprouted on you. I'm assuming the bull calves you've picked up are Holsteins? Have a good week! 🐄
Yes they are red and white holstein.
Just seen your channel how many cows do you milk and what state do you live ❤
We have 350 cows including dry cows and 350 heifers. We are usually milking around 300. We live in PA
@@arlofarms o yea nice amount keeps you guys busy ❤️
What I could see see from my chair that new drill would be a up grade 😊
I farmed all my life if not one thing it is another problem to deal with
Thank you for posting videos, we really enjoy them. We upgraded our 4 wheeler to a side by side 10 years ago and use it more than a pick up truck.
The good and the bad of rain, which turns to ugly when the beans start splitting.
No till drill setup reminds me of the lillston no till end wheel drill . They were a very good drill very durable
Nice silos
Your love for nature shines through in every video. 🌟
I just found your channel. Awesome video ❤❤❤
Great video, Always excited to see your videos come up. Some time please explain the blue harvester how they operate and the plus & minus of maintenance
Is there any difference in feed quality from the harvestor and the concrete silo’s
We put corn silage in both concrete silo's. We put our earlage or snaplage in the harvestore. The quality is good out of all of them.
How many silo in your farm?
Three
Never saw that before is that a stave silo on top of a poured concrete ? How tall ?
Well, it’s staves on top of poured concrete. We have one like that too. Originally an 18x60, they put another 20’ of staves on top to make it 18x80.
You are one of my favorite farming channels. Dairy farming is so admirable. I also love the inspirational songs/music you play. Thank you for posting great content on this TH-cam channel. ❤
Thanks
GREAT STUFF!
19:00 I love her life!!!❤
17:40 Adorable! Milking together your whole marriage. ❤
That’s ALOT of feed for only having 300 cows. Do you have more than 300 cows? If so, how many do you have? Do you sell some of the feed?
With dry cows we have 350 total cows. We raise all of our heifers for replacements. So we have around 700 head total
Really enjoy your videos, Thank you for posting
❤❤❤
Love your farm well kept 😊
2:12 How old are they?❤
We got them the end of may of this year. They were about 50 pound feeders when we got them.
Hello from sweden 🇸🇪. I am a milk farmer two😁. Good video and good work😊
It's tall bit not packed good at all on the edges
I can still remember the humming and singing of blower..while working at top of silo..almost 50ty years ago...
Fires are so heartbreaking and heart grippimg
