    I have 3 modded PMs 700, 480, 180 and a modded m512. You have to clean them up and adjust the EQ to your style. I do lots of funk and bass heavy music. These sing in those spaces. It doesn’t go on everything but it’s great when you need a big sound. Great on drum kits great on synths. Worth it if you want to mod.

    Nice project, I’m going to take this one on! You have a lot of white noise on your mic. The white noise plus the reverb sounds like a turtle beach gaming headset lol

    • @Matt_bechillin
      @Matt_bechillin 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      7:57 when the white noise on my guitar does this, I use a high cut and noise gate I’ll record with lower gain, then use a compressor and post gain to bring the volume back up

    Great content but the reverb is a little much lol If you're really set on having such a wet speaking voice you could try side chaining the reverb to your voice, or just use a mid/side eq and dip the middle of the reverb signal Honestly though the reverb is distracting from the actual content. Educational material doesnt need to sound "sexy" and if anything it's taking away from good content Get a mic stand and process your audio like other youtubers do and you'll get a bigger audience This a cool project and i can tell you know what you're doing, but it comes across as unprofessional and other people will hear the reverb and see you fucking with a handheld mic and they're going to write you off

      Loving the Channel, I really enjoyed the video going through that old Yamaha board. Never really considered a much older mixing board. It's kind of inspired me a little. So busy on the latest Mic Pre's and Compressors. Why not dive into an old board or console, at the very least it would be cool for analog summing.

    Great video but yo, I'm _super_ tech-dumb. When you soldered the output, you mentioned the hot/red wire to pin 2, ground to pin 1 and so am I right to assume that the negative/black wire went to pin 3? Also fantastic tip about the resistence and using the resistors to get it down. This is the first DIY sub kick mic video I've seen that mentioned it! Great insight. Subbed. P.S. I dig the reverb on your mic. Sounds cool and it's different. That said, a lapel mic or even a boom arm might make things easier for you.

    • @HeightsLabOfficial
      @HeightsLabOfficial หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! You want to wire the xlr Pins 1. Ground 2. (Red) Positive 3. Negative, then wire the speaker ground to a ground, wire 2 (red) to the Negative speaker pole and 3 to the Positive speaker pole so it reverses the speakers polarity.

    I bought Pro40 in 2013 and was using that up to the last year. I upgraded my PC and unfortunately I couldn't find a good and reliable FireWire PCI card. I couldn't use the same PCI card as in previous PC as the new main board didn't have the same slot. What I did? I bought Scarlett 18i20 and hooked the PRO 40 as ADAT input. Now I have 16 inputs and I am very happy with that.

    • @JAMPROSOUND
      @JAMPROSOUND 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fcukingalien That totally depends on the PCI card you have. If it's something like an RME HDSP9652 w/ multiple ADAT I/O then yes. You would need a system with a Firewire 400 port in order to configure the Pro 40 units as stand alone but then you would be good.

    I have mines running on my MP 5,1 Monterey OS. Using it with the Behringer UMC 1820 w/ ada8200. I have it all aggregated with the UMC as the main output while the Pro 40 is being used for the extra 8 analog inputs for a total of 24 inputs!!! The system runs fine. I am just getting used to the Pro 40 and its Mix Control s/w. i just wish that the Mix Control ui could be expandable with its view, it's very tiny. But other than that, I love having this Pro 40 that is in absolutely mint condition. It was given to me by my cousin abt a week ago, who never really used it bc he has the newer Focusrite. I got it for free. So now, I'm going to keep my MP 5,1 bc it is totally maxed out and doesn't seem to be giving me any issues. Considering how old my MP is, this system is performing quite great in 2024. Thinking about buying a new cmptr, but at the moment it is not a priority as long as I am able to record a band without hiccups.., I'm good 👍🏾

    oh, well as soon as you said ADAT, then yes, absolutely :P Or it should. I was thinking this was like when I hooked up my old AF MOTU 2496 mkIII that uses PCI or PCI-X (old Mac card bus). The answer, shockingly, was yes. MOTU still has modern Windows drivers for it. The only issue I had was at times it got out of sync if I used Sleep, I'd wake the computer up and it would be sped up or slowed down.

    mehhh, .... its an old piece of crap. Noisy AF. Old doesn't always mean good. And that coming from a 53 Year old veteran musician. There are better vintage choices out there.
