Abandoned Sunken Zimmerman Junior High. Flint, MI
I went to Eisenhower! Early 2000s to 2010s😊 my brother went to Zimmerman class of 09
My oldest daughter was born there in 1978 wow crazy!!!!
It's gone now
Where is this located been trying to find it
so it still smells like shift
Learned to swim in Flints community education program held in the pool. Was a beautiful facility.
I went to Zimmerman. It had 2 gymnasiums. The upper one was newer and the older one was on the main floor. Off the old gym was the bandroom. Stairs led from the bandroom to the stage in the newer gym. It hurts seeing it look like this. I finished 9th grade spring of 1969.
Grew up in Flint in the 60’s. That area was one of the nicest parts of the city. I remember the Marathon gas station just north of there showing outdoor free movies around that time.
Why do we go on like this letting Flint Play us like This. That building is full of memorabilia their are people who truly cheerish Flint that know all the back streets from bristol rd, m15, Dodge rd, too linden rd Clio rd, Dort Genesee rd, Franklin st, belle ave, whyoming, lewis rd to lieth st, stuart ave, ((StJohns/jamesPcole)) peison rd, carpenter rd, Coldwater rd, dupont Pasadena, Dayton, Everyone knows Everyone.
How is this not w community center
I wouldnt go to deep in there by myself fr and if you dont know your way out like that nah
How is nobody touching this stuff people must have a respect for that school
Went to school there 1960-1963. I was in an algebra class on the second floor when President Kennedy was assassinated. Tragic to see what became of this school and the rest of my hometown.
take a metal detector there
I went to Zimmerman early 70’s. Hard to recognize anything with it trashed the way it is. Some great memories but sad to see.
Went there today. Have a nice day.
I went to school there graduation in 1976. So sad to see these. Go Vikings 😢
I'd love to investigate this place.
Looking to get back into this place let me know if you’re interested
@@octaneexploration6750 I'm 100% interested and other places as well.
Class of 97
The features in the earth might be a little more noticeable before spring after the snows melted and all the veg is still dormant, wish I woulda thought about it yesterday before we got slammed w snow
Pere (Chee-nee) is how us locals pronounce it!
Thank you for that
crazy knowing i live 2 houses down front his school 😂 it’s way way more destroyed now!! really bad
Lights are keep on to keep looters out!
If we could get people to volunteer for a clean up and know how to fix all the walls Flint could turn this school into lower income housing apartments. Without being paid to do it would be Amazing. I know how to do much of the tasks first hand and I'm only 28 years old.For people who will be willing to do it in summer
Oh shit I think this where Bando Lonnie & his group get held at gunpoint. Wish there were places like this near me
C/O 87...the last class was 2013. My stepdaughter graduated from Northern. Actually...i take my granddaughter there to teach her how to drive...just like i did with my daughter ( her mother).
This place is wrecked now and the poWers off
Im shocked this place isnt decaying or abandoned i think its because they used the building after the closure. To store water
What a shame to close a solid school like this when the building is still in good shape what a shame of tax payers money bro😮
Flint hs and flint northern both suck anyways 😅
Built in 1924
I was born here
I always wondered what it looked like in there
I'm a little of an investigator myself. I love watching videos like these ot other youtuber ghost videos and play detective on my own terms. The place is still standing today bit the bsck portion room is caving in. I still can't believe it has stood so long. I read a Comment about giving family peace and tragedy to the community. Then why not tear it down and have your closure then so urban explorers don't go in!! I think its disgusting to let something stand looking eyesore year after year and I know the story and feel like no one wants to let it go. Needs to be torn down and this story a what not to do and be careful when it comes to chimney fires they're deadly , lives are taken from if not prevented. It ties into fire prevention videos. Just my outlook, I'm sorry to other commenter if I sounded like a Karen not trying to I just don't get how one can let something still stand and others like me hurt more by looking at a ghost of a past event.
It is sad to see our alma mater in such disrepair or abandoned. We have fixed in our memories what they looked like when we attentended. The buildings of the school system that I graduated from were demolished and built new moee than a decade ago. Most of the school buildings of my firmer district are are closed, demolished or abandoned. The only remsing and currently used building is the 'new' (1960) high school used as the elementary. One building was the subject of an urban explorer's episode. Yes, sad to see the changes, decay, and vandalism. Part of life.
My mom remembers visiting her uncle here when it was opened and she told me that it had huge gates around the outside and beautiful gardens. The place was so huge at one time that it had its own zip code. They had a farm with a massive amount of cattle and a butcher shop a blacksmith shop a laundromat , a print shop and many other buildings. It was its own functioning city. My great uncle had a “ nervous breakdown “ is what my mother was told but he had quite the drinking problem I guess. He got better though and came home. They did treat people good for a while in these places and then the government cut funding and people were horribly abused, neglected and other patients were making others have relationships with them or just beating them. The government should never be in charge of anything because they always find a way to take money from places where it’s really needed. The majority of these places were closed in the 1980’s when they thought they could just medicate these people and most have been living on the streets ever since. Thanks for the video.
These are really some sad places look up Kermit Gosnell and his “ Sunday Babies “ and all of it happened in 2013 but our media wouldn’t report on it. There was a movie about what he did but they wouldn’t really give it a lot of advertisement. I lost a friend back in the day because of a bad doctor like this in Detroit. I just found your channel and subscribed.

Place looks great at night! I was just there recently, got some fantastic footage in the snow
Find my Facebook and message me if you’re interested in getting together
Yeah it used to be a rehab
What’s with all that water?!
They left it there from when they were giving out all the water to flint residents
@@octaneexploration6750 ohh! that’s too bad it’s probably all expired now from the plastic..

Have you ever been up stairs?
@@octaneexploration6750 yes i worked at the hotel for 6 years .. an amazing place in every way
Do you know anyone that can get me back up there?
@@octaneexploration6750 i would call and ask Nick (owner) .. that's the only way i would know of ... have a great one
My old high school man ... damn ...
I grew up near here. Nothing grows because of the poor soil quality. It's about three feet of sand on top of clay. It's never been good for farming. Most of the trees are Jack Pine. They like fire and require it to open their pine cones and let the seeds out.
What a shame
C/o 85. It was a great school, I would like to see the inside myself just to explore. Would also like to see the band room to bring back 4 great years of memories.
Coolidge was abandoned like this for awhile. Recently it was remodeled and it’s now an apartment complex
how do u know
Can u tell me the address?
Just went there. All powers off now sadly. I was real excited to explore somewhere lit up. Still awesome time tho
