Ego Peak Power Snow Blower Review | Battery Operated Snow Blower
Today, I’m doing an Ego Peak Power snow blower review. If you’re interested in learning more about this battery-operated snow blower, then this video is for you. This season, we put on about 20 plus hours on this unit before I did my review. I wanted to make sure that we got enough time in that we would pretty much in one season put the hours on this unit that most homeowners will put on it in its lifetime, to give you a more thorough review. The Ego Peak Power snow blower features a super-handy shoe rotation lever that works really well when you're going up a driveway and you turn around at the top of the driveway, you can just quick spin it and keep on moving.
One thing about this Ego Peak Power snow blower that I dislike is the cutting edge, because it's super aggressive and it gets caught on any imperfection in the ground. That would be one main reason why I would not want to use this snow blower, because it is really annoying. If you have a flat open driveway that's nice and smooth, it works really well. But for on the sidewalks where every four feet you have a seam, it will hit on every single one of those seams, so that's definitely not ideal.
One huge benefit of the Ego Peak Power snow blower is how easy it is to start. If it's sitting for a long time, you don't need to worry about bad gas. You also don't need to worry about it being cold. If it's going to start, all you have to do is push the button and pull, and it starts every time, as long as you don't leave your batteries outside in the cold for month or a week. As long as they're charged and you bring them out, it should be good to go.
The only cordless snow blower that can compete with gas-powered snow blowers is the Ego Peak Power. By combining the power of any two ARC Lithium batteries, it can clear thick, wet snow. Because of its high-efficiency brushless motor and 21-inch-wide inlet, this snow blower can handle any type of snow. By setting the variable-speed auger, you can simply control how far the snow is thrown.
With a 35-foot throwing distance, remote chute adjustment, and durable steel construction, it's the industry's first cordless snow blower. It has all of the power and performance of a gas snow blower, but none of the noise, fuss, or pollutants. The Ego snow blower set comes with two (2) 5.0Ah batteries and a rapid charger. You'll have power beyond belief with the Ego Power Snow Blower.
If you enjoyed this video of my Ego Peak Power snow blower review, and you’re interested in learning more about this battery-operated snow blower, please remember to like, share, subscribe and leave a comment if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback. We hope to see you here again soon!

I am really interested in a similar setup. My biggest concern is the low clearance underneath and getting stuck. Have you driven it on unplowed roads? (not 2-3 inches, like 10 to 15 inches) The plows are not always timely and they definitely leave large windrows.

This is a cool setup. After the drive is dragged clean, why do you turn off the PTO between snowblowing pushes? Also, if the driver didn't shovel you could do probably 20-30% more driveways. We have people drive separately in cars and trucks doing the shoveling. It can be any car, and can be done before or after the drive is cleared. Saves us a lot of time. We have inverted blowers on tractors and are thinking of switching to this kind of setup due to the faster transport time. But the tractor is a lot faster on the drives when it get there. Each of these would take a 80" tractor inverted blower about 60 seconds. Thank you for sharing how you run this setup. Do you have many breakdowns with the Daniels box?

The plastic part you talked about that broke is called a scraper blade. They run about $30 at the big box stores. 10 minutes to replace them. But I totally agree with how annoying it is that the blade catches on any segmentation lines that you may have in your driveway or sidewalk. There is a solution though. There are a lot of after-market "skids" that can easily be mounted onto your machine which raise up the front end of the machine just enough so that the blade doesn't nosedive down into every crack it runs over. I own the newer model EGO SNT2025 Auger-Assisted drive. It's the same basic design but the auger is designed to propel the unit forward, giving you at least a small level of relief from having to push the unit. However, this power-assist feature is rendered virtually useless by the design flaw of the scraper blade issue. This is because, in order to engage the auger assist, you need to lift up lightly on the handle grip bar, which engages the auger in greater contact with the pavement. Unfortunately, in doing so, you simultaneously exacerbate the issue with the nose-diving scraper blade. I haven't yet installed any after-market skids on mine, but I've greatly decreased the scraper blade problem by pushing the unit a little more carefully and slower. It's very annoying. I'm gathering this is a pretty common problem though with various single-stage snow blowers, as there are a lot of "skid" solutions available to resolve the issue. Other than that though, the EGO blower is pretty good, and beats the heck out of monkeying with a gas-powered unit, in my opinion.

Thanks for the video. How does the snowblower do at the end of the driveways where the curb is.? Does it float over it or do you have to lift the blower up and then set it back down at the end? For the heavy snows does it help going through the snow slower so it doesn’t push a pile next to the garage?

Neither one was clearing the driveway at first. I don't see this as a fair comparison at all. I have never seen anyone run snowblowers the way this was done. Who does that stuff while cleaning a driveway. It was clearly a race not a demonstration as to which does the better job. Sorry not a good video for anything.

Do you have any experience or preference as to r auger type (steel vs rubber) on stamped concrete or composite decking? I see where the rubber version would be safer, but the steel should not contact at all correct? Reason I lean toward steel is we have a metal roof and snow slides get frozen so the metal auger should chew them better.

Something else very few modern single stage snow blowers do not have engine power going to the wheels I believe the Toro snowmaster series is the only turn single stage snow blower with engine power at the wheels on the market today. Prior to the 1980s that was a very common setup for single-stage snowblowers. Also in a single stage is very useful when there's not as thick enough layer of snow for two-stage machine.
