My 240sx is officially tuned!
After a solid few months, my turbo 240sx is finally tuned and dialed in! The car is feeling awesome and pretty quick at a whopping 13 lbs on this ISR RS3871 turbo!

what area are you from?
I may have a set of Z32 wheels for cheap if you are looking for wheels. Tires are trash though. At that boost level with that turbo, I’d imagine around 280-300 as you said. Sounds about right. I’m hoping for around 260ish with this baby turbo on my civic right now at 12psi.
U truly get ur money’s worth on Auxito. They are the most go to brands for our cars. And we definitely recommend more. Lasfit, and Auxito are the most go to ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Even though it did take 4 years atleast you didn’t sell/part out😂I mean look at Chris fix, it took a hurricane to make him turbo the del sol😂 but very glad to see another 240 running and driving!❤️🙏

What fuel are you running? Just pump 93 or an ethanol mixture?
Just pump 91 for now! Street car 😎 and I don’t have 93 anywhere near where I live
@ I was curious, waiting to get my block back for the same setup on my S14 at the moment but my tuner suggested doing an ethanol mix with the 9:1 compression. We have 93 and E85 pumps nearby
@ yeah man if you’ve got it and it’s accessible send it all the way
@@auth.garageif I may toss in my .02 if you plan on running relatively (I say this because idk what size turbo you plan on running) low boost. Pump gas is just fine. E85 for a daily is doable but that stuff sucks after some time unless you cycle pump fuel throughout the system every now and again.
@@Knownworldwide built bottom end with a T28 for the time being but if I do end up running E it will be a mix with pump gas like E60 rather than full pump E85
What ended up being the issue on the misfire? And what are the pros and cons of having a smaller battery?
@@carloszuniga3236 the engine was misfiring because I had trouble configuring the right trigger wheel settings in tuner studio. I was eventually able to figure out what settings worked for me and got the car running on all four! Also, the intercooler piping gets in the way of the OEM battery location and you can no longer fit a standard 240 SX battery, luckily this Miata battery is half the size and can fit while retaining the necessary CCA for the car

@@boekster7108 thank you! I’m not entirely sure but I’d assume the spread covers more horizontally in that orientation, and the other way would have much more of a vertical spread

You could have installed the bottom portion of the intake manifold first, and then the plenum afterwards, as this would give you more room to work with the hoses and PCV system. Good stuff tho

You need to get rid of the distributor and go coil packs . Or there used to be a mod I cant remember that you can swap the distributor out with. Or maybe it was a resistor you add to it to get more power out of it.. I can't remember its been to long. Or go coil packs

@@Perez-identthis is absolutely not necessary. Plenty of stock distributor KAs making 400-500 for years. Save your money and place it elsewhere. Or don’t, it is your money.

Hey man I know It's been a while since you've done the short block assembly, but I happen to be in the same boat here. Did you get your main crank journal and girdle line bored for the crank by any chance? My measurements clear well just the same, however since the ARP torque spec is much higher than standard oem, the crank becomes a bit tough to turn due to the the imbalance of Nissan's grades on the journals designed for 40ftlb. Was curious on what your approach was, did you just decide to go through with it since the numbers checked out?
Yes that’s exactly what I did. Shop cleared the journal surfaces so I just went through with it.

great video man, caint way to see this thing finished. two questions for you, do you know how much hp the isr turbo can handle (im deciding between that or the tomei arms one). and do you think taking engine apart and taking it to the machine shop is necessary? i was just looking at those two turbo kits and getting aftermarket pistons/rods/cams, but not sure if machining it all should be necessary as well
If you want reliable power yes, spend the extra money to have supporting mods for your turbo. If you have Pistons cams rods etc etc you’ll be able to turn up the psi of the turbo and have more fun while being reliable :)
This is true ^ with a stock KA block you would really be able to push past like 9/10 PSI on pump without bringing risk to your piston rings. On E85 I’ve seen people run a bit higher boost and more power but of course they still had to change their fueling and tune etc. I did what I believe to be the minimum when prepping a KA for boost, just basic machine work and pistons/rods/rings, everything else has been refreshed and is still OEM. I had my rings gapped to accept 13-18 PSI. I’ve also heard the ISR turbo to withstand upwards of 380whp
