i stopped watching american idol after adam lost. it was so obvious that adam was the clear winner that season. i feel like i wasn’t the only one

i stopped watching american idol after this season. it was apparently rigged against him because you are right that the american idol machine didn't know what to do with him. they were used to one mold for their winners, and they made it, so a more conventional guy would win. i think they also thought that adam was less "marketable" due to his sexuality but luckily adam still managed to have a successful career. i still think he is underappreciated though. i think america wasn't ready for him yet in 2009 when the industry was still more conservative. if he debuted now i think he would be more embraced for his fashions and performance style

he was really good on broadway but it seems like he wanted more creative control over what music he wanted to sing, make, and also how he wanted to dress

I was in the crowd in the front row. This is still the best night I’ve ever had of my life. Cool to see this being reacted to. No words describe how spectacular the entire live show was. Every song was this good. Random fact: I’m the girl in the mermaid wig you see at the end with one of my beautiful bffs who was shining in gold. It was worth standing at the stage for 6 and a half hours before they started, to be front row. We cried like babies during that performance. I’m gay, it hit home. It was the most amazing tribute.

Guys have basically 3 types of range in their voice. Chest which is the bottom super full part of their voice. Then there is a passage (break) into their head voice which is still full but has more of a bell like tone. Then another passage (break) into falsetto which tends to be slightly quieter and breathy. Then you have people who have trained so hard that they can sing straight through the breaks in a mixed voice (chest/head; head/falsetto) where the breaks get smoothed out. There is another type of voice mostly heard by females but men can be trained to use it called flagette or whistle register made famous by first Minnie Ripperton and then of course Mariah Carey. I highly recommend listening to everything by Pentatonix. They are an a cappella group of five people who use nothing but their voices to make music. Mitch is their tenor/counter tenor with a massive range where every passage disappears and his mix voices are flawless. I really want to specifically recommend their cover of The Prayer, Bohemian Rhapsody, Amazing Grace, Hallelujah, Daft Punk medly and Song Of Silence. I also highly recommend you listen to the only other person I know of who has a larger range than Mitch and that's Dimash. Mitch never uses his whistle range in their videos but I've heard it in third party goofing around videos. Even Scott (baritone) can do it. I'd also recommend Adam Lopez from Australia he was on Mariah Carey's first tour and CD doing background vocals and using his whistle register when she wasn't quite up to it.
