the mono eraser is a game changer... Really enjoyable to see someone be amazed when stumbling on Botanicals... I, also was, when taking it as an elective in a Landscape Architect program.. so I share the delight of discovering Botanical Art .. great video
Great bag! I'm in N.H. so the water resistance is a great touch. That looks perfect for hiking and nice looking for around town.
Thank you! It's such a great bag and I've been enjoying it so much as well as others have been loving it too. I'll be doing another round of these bags in the new year too! I love making them :)
Nice demo! Thanks for sharing. I'm an over packer. I'm trying to keep my car kit small. Your kit is inspiring, fun, and simple. The rain only proved your point that it's great for on the go. Beautiful location too. Best Wishes!❤
Thank you! I love traveling with my art kit - it's always fun to see what I can create on the go. I used to over pack too, but have learned that sometimes I like to stick to the basics :)
So lovely!! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Hello, thank you for this video! You have a very calm tone... This is so sweet to hear! Do you like making IT videos? You would be good at it! I will consider subscribing! Thank you! Ethan :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video - thank you for watching!
Finally - a use for lens caps :P I put my acrylic paints in them when I went travelling but took too many and the less-used ones dried into plastic :( But they would work very well for watercolours and gouache.
Yes definitely helps putting watercolor in them so they won't dry out like acrylic!
Your voice is so beautiful ❤ almost healing
Aw, thank you so much!
love this set. need one
It’s a great set! Have you used these pencils before? I love them! 😍
Oh my goodness, I have so many old contact cases. I love the idea to use them for water 😮🙌
Right?! I love using it this way!
If you're doing charcoal, you gotta embrace the smut! Just dont breathe it.
😆 good to know!!
Love the car kit idea! Where’d you get the little plastic case for your kneaded eraser?
Thank you!! I got it from Art Toolkit - check their website, they come in a pack of 3 and it’s so nice to divy up my kneaded eraser into different bags!
@@jaclynbaerartthank you! 😊
Oh yes! Blackwing pencils are incredible!
Aren’t they?! I’m such a fan of the matte black one 🙌🏼
You could drill a little hole in that left-hand corner of your setup to sit that foldable cup and then it wouldn’t move
I ended up doing something very similar!! Such a great idea!
This is great timing. I've had my eye on this set for a good while; seeing your demo made me finally add to cart! What a nice set. I'm looking forward to some leisurely sketching after the holidays. Here's to more Blick sponsorships, congrats!
Thanks so much! I’m so excited for you to get this set!! And yes, I am hoping for many more Blick sponsorships! 😊

I’m so glad someone got that!! 🪄
@ 😂😂😂😂
It's so helpful to see how you used the different lead hardness in the same drawing. Thank you! I'm hoping that my Dear Husband got me this very set either for my birthday (in five days) or Christmas (in ten days). 🤞✍️✏️
I’m so glad it was helpful to see how I use them! I hope you get a set for your bday or Christmas!! HBD to you!!
@@jaclynbaerart Thanks for your birthday wishes! 😁 I'm anticipating a happy one. 😊
Of course! What a fun birthday season!
Congrats on the sponsorship! I am always on the lookout for a good pencil sharpener, this one looks like I'l have to go shopping soon 😂
Thank you! ❤️ And yes, I’m always on the look out for a good pencil sharpener too!
I LOVE THIS ~ super cute, gorgeous choice of colours/papers & layout! 💚 I don’t think we have this magazine here in Australia?? I Love Katie Moody too - great lil artist 👩🏻🎨 Glad you had x2 of these magazines so you could keep some of her art work intact 🤭🤪👌🏼
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it and agree about Katie Moody - she’s awesome!!
I love the Art toolkit! I recently fill my pocket pallet with assorted pans, OMG, this step is a little tricky! And messy! Because of the mini sizes of them. But I love to do this, because means a happy painting , and a wonderful happy birthday for me! ❤🥳🎉🎊
It’s a lot of work to fill those palettes, but it’s so worth it, especially for a happy birthday! 🥳
@@jaclynbaerart oh Thank you!!! Means a lot for me🥰🥹🥳 it's really worth it🥰❤️🥰
@@jaclynbaerart you know what? I buy it with your discount code! Many thanks! 🥰🥰🥰
I wish you would speak a little louder.
Thanks for the feedback! Sorry the audio was too quiet for you. Hope you enjoyed the video anyways! :)
Wow! Love this video. I stumbled upon this app by accident, but I’m so glad I did! 😌
I'm so glad you found it helpful! 😊
I have suggestions for the two flapping ends of the belt part. You can sew a piece of fabric over the back pocket leaving the side ends open so the flaps can be tucked in. Or you can sew snap bottoms on the underside of the flaps and over the pocket so they can be snapped to the outer side of the full pocket.
Those are both great ideas! My husband had thought of the fabric idea too. So my next rendition I’m gonna try both ideas and see what works best (and looks good too! 😆). Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it!!
I watched this last night before bed and then woke up and wrote 7 pages. I used to journal a lot in high school and college. Now I do a few sentences each night. So I've had a lot build up that I didn't realize I needed to brain dump! So thank you for this! I even used your light bulb idea. 😍And I already had a blank journal by my bed just waiting to be used! 😊
Wow 7 pages?! That's amazing to get all of your thoughts out like that. Well done! I'm so glad this video helped you out and that you like the lightbulb idea - it's so helpful for me to just draw it and keep journaling. That way I can come back to it when I'm done! Thank you for watching!!
I love the story about your scary hike that was easier after you'd done more. 🙌🩷
Aw, thank you for your kind words.
Thank you...I thought it was just a book. I had no idea it was like a course. I'd heard of it a lot! So glad I watched this...and glad you started your channel. 😮🥳
I'm so happy it was helpful! It's such a wonderful book/course and I have her other books as well that I am wanting to start in the new year!

That's a great idea to laminate the swatch cards!! I'll have to do that now. :) Aw, I love that you are 6 weeks into the Artist Way, it's so good. How are you liking it so far? (and good idea for setting aside ever tuesday for your artist date - what type of dates do you take yourself on?)
woww so nice. I also finding pen pal. If you give me id, we can write a lot. I love writting. 😊. Are you interested? I am from India.
So glad you've found pen pals!
@jaclynbaerart Yes I have found 3 pen pals. Would you like to be my pen pal ?
WOW! I am impressed with your passion, kindness, creativity, and Multi Talents. I cannot sew a straight line to save my life, lol and you have designed and sewn your own zippered pouches and bags. So Awesome! I just stumbled on your video tonight and I am thrilled I did. Looking forward to being notified you have restocked. Beautiful Scenery you get to enjoy and share with us. I will start watching your previous videos. Take care
Oh my goodness! Thank you for your kind words - they really mean a lot! I'm so glad you found my videos and are excited for when I restock my bags. I need to order more supplies since I sold out (which is still crazy to me 😂). Enjoy my other videos too!
Perfect timing! I’ve been trying to put together an art “go” kit for quite awhile. Each thing I try is marginally okay but usually too small or bulky and too heavy. I’m excited for my order to arrive!
I'm so excited and I hope you love it! Those are the reasons why I made the Sälka pouches, so I'm glad it'll be put to good use. Thanks for watching and ordering! I appreciate your support so much.
Love all the very helpful tips! Such a peaceful video as well. Thank you!! I would also recommend Claire Walker Leslie who authored a few books on Nature Journaling. I found them very helpful!
Thanks! I'll check out Claire Walker Leslie's books, I love learning about nature journaling. Thanks for watching!
I’m ordering my set now. ❤
Yay! Thank you thank you!!!
@@jaclynbaerart hi Jaclyn, thanks for acknowledging my post. After I put in my order I started to wonder if maybe you were AI 😊. Your art pouch system is what I’ve needed but didn’t know it until I saw it. Portable, weatherproof, and can scale up or down. You’re a genius.
@@susanparsons9365 This makes my heart so happy that you want my art sling! Yay! I'm so excited for you to get it!
Love it! Cheers from Brasil
Thank you! And thanks for watching from Brasil ❤️
Love the new bag. Could you use the small purple pouch with clips to hold the wigs from the hip back option?
I don’t know what you mean 😝 like clip the mini to the belt wings?
@ Yes, may have to shorten the wings or make another small coin bag that would fit.
@@michellecarr6498 I could play around with that idea - thank you Michelle!
This looks fantastic Jaclyn! I think a carabiner clip would hold the hip straps nicely in the back when they aren’t in use. I didn’t think I wanted anything for Christmas…. Until now! 🥰
I'm so glad you like it Hannah! That's a great idea using a carabiner clip! I have a few laying around so I'll give that a go. Thanks for watching!! :)
Was just thinking a medium sized carabiner, or double carabiner could hook the wings together when they weren’t in use, and also be handy for hooking the bag to a tripod, or hanging an airtag from if you’re out in a crowded place.
@@silvertales Brilliant! I like the idea of using a carabiner. I figured most artists would have little clips in the art stash to use, but I like this idea of a carabiner!
What a lovely art pouch!!! Would you tell me how long the strap is? Thank you. 😊 (as a plus size gal I’d like to know if it will fit.) 😉
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. I made sure to have the belt length listed on the product page just for this reason! It's a 1” waist-belt adjustable up to 45” circumference! Let me know if you need a different size, I'm happy to customize it for ya!
Thanks for replying so quickly. I must have missed that detail. Placed my order and I’m looking forward to receiving my lovely art pouch. An early birthday present. 😃Happy Holidays!!!
@@misspearl6828 amazing! Thank you thank you! And yay for an early birthday present!! Aren't those the best?!
this was very insightful, I've always wanted to set up an art show. Maybe one day
I’m so glad this was helpful! You totally should do an art show if it’s feasible for you. It’s really helpful just to go through the steps and get some practice!
I read Artist Way years ago and have had starts and stops with morning pages. Now I feel the need for clarity more than ever. Thanks for your words of encouragement!🙏🏻Namaste
I'm so happy it was helpful! It's a great way to make space for yourself in your day. 💕
Ohh, I have to make one of those art boards to see if I like it! Looks so handy!
It really does make a world of difference for plein air painting! 😁
22:40 Oil? Sorry, what oil?
There was this layer of oils at the top of the tube. Must of been the binding agent or something that settled to the top since I hadn't opened these gouache tubes in a while! ha!
@ I thought the binder would be gum Arabic or something similar for gouache? Are these gouache paints?
@ you’re right it’s probably that!!
@@jaclynbaerart Thanks for the clarification 🙂
@ of course!
6:53 Are you actually using your table as a mixing surface? I did that once on a desk that had a ceramic surface.
I put a sheet of palette paper on my desk, it's white so it looks like my desk! Normally I use my ceramic palettes but I need to clean them again. lol.
@ I did notice the sheet of paper later on in the video. When you started squeezing out the paints, I could not at all see the sheet; it blended so well with your desk 😄.
Ha! Yes it does blend so well with the desk!
I love this bag so far! I just wanted to say, What if you made the hip pack attachment “wings” just a tad longer so they are able to meet in the middle, and put velcro on them so they stay together and can also act as a tripod strap or another kind of strap for maybe hanging a towel ? What doynou think?
Hey there! Thanks for the thoughtful response. I appreciate your insights into the design! Yes, we thought a lot about the wings and different ways to secure it/how it could be useful as an attachment. I want to avoid the wings being too long because it makes it harder to adjust the belt when wearing it (on smaller waists, this would put the belt cinch in an awkward position to tighten). But I am still tinkering with the idea of some kind of "loop" they could tuck into in a future design revision like you mention. I have other ideas for that feature for future design attachments too :) So definitely more ideas and unique uses to come! Thanks again for watching and giving me some ideas!
An S hook carabiner could be used rather than your bulldog clips…. Nice job!
An S hook carabiner would also be a great option! Lots of ways to pin the wings when it’s not being used. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Congrats on the new release!
Thanks so much! I'm really happy with how it turned out!
I really wanted to order some bags but no Austrian adress was accepted :(
I'm trying to figure out how to ship to other countries! 🤞🏼
What a beautiful and inspiring video! Love all the features you’ve put into the art sling pouch! I have also loved using my explorer bundle, this will be a great addition for standing while plein air painting, and it’s so great that it can stand on its own for cafe art journaling. Also, using the clips I carry with a sketchbook anyway to hold the belt flaps is brilliant! Ordered! Merry Christmas to me, lol❤
I am so glad you loved the video! It's amazing to hear you're excited to add it to your art kit! You're gonna love it! :) Thank you thank you!!
Great designs! All of the items you make look fantastic.
Thanks so much! I’m really happy with how they turned out!
Congratulations!! That is so exciting!
I'm so excited about it too!
Lovely, and very smart design.
