Support the restoration of Argonaut II by becoming a Patreon, which will fund ongoing restoration projects and videos to help document and preserve Argonaut's history for years to come: patreon.com/ArgonautII
Argonaut II is a 73' Classic Wooden Motor Yacht built in 1922 that carries a rich history in the Pacific Northwest, primarily cruising the remote coastline of British Columbia as a medical mission boat providing services to thousands of patients each year. Since 2021, I have been working diligently to restore the boat into cruising condition, living and working aboard, learning as I go, and meeting so many interesting people along the way who are connected to the boat. I hope to use this platform as a way to continue sharing the boat's history with others, and appreciate your support in carrying on her story.

If you haven't seen my regular TH-cam videos, you should start with those first (I think they're fun :) but feedback is welcomed!).
This week, join me for a special episode to catch up on where I am currently, and go deeper into why I started this TH-cam channel, and where I think we can take Argonaut II from here. This boat is very special, and deeply connected to many people up and down the coast of the Pacific Northwest. I am leaning into this community to help, as I cannot go at it alone. Argonaut II is a historic vessel worthy of saving. I would love to have you join me on this journey, and become part of the adventure!
If you are seriously considering taking on a boat like Argonaut II, let's talk. I am open to creative ways of ownership, and focused most on financing projects and doing what's right for the boat. Any sort of help is so appreciated.
Thank you again to this wonderful, supportive community. This has been quite the adventure.

EP10 - Argonaut Retraces History in Ocean Falls, Bella Coola
มุมมอง 13Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode, Argonaut retraces history by visiting Ocean Falls, where she was based as a mission boat from 1937 to 1966. We explore the town and meet some of the local residents who share a dinner with us. Afterwards, Argonaut makes her way to Eucott Bay where there is a beautiful hot spring to soak in, before moving onwards to Bella Coola where I visit the local museum, provision with some...
EP9 - Argonaut Tour and a Week of Rain!
มุมมอง 13Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In this week's video, I continue my cruise up the coast of British Columbia by spending some time outside of Bella Bella and the Inside Passage, hanging out in the rain after saying goodbye to Tally Ho and their crew as they depart towards Haida Gwaii. I ended up with some outboard trouble, and performed a temporary fix while waiting out the weather. I take this opportunity to share the interio...

EP7 - How to Navigate Cape Caution and Visiting the U'Mista Cultural Center
มุมมอง 17Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I continue my cruise north with the sailing vessel Tally Ho. After making our way through the straights into Blackfish Sound, we stopped over in Alert Bay to walk around the town and visit the U'Mista Cultural Center that has a wonderful display of the culture, art, and potlatch ceremony of the Namgis First Nation. In Port McNeil, I spend much time re-provisioning for the remainder of the trip ...

Great to see all history and stories of the boat!
Hey, Stephan - thanks for that. Gotta get you back up here to be part of the story!
On sailboat we fill up once every 3 years
Hi Nick, I'm curious... what drone do you have for the great air videos. I'm impressed with the video quality and the height it will go. Oh, and you are quite good with it. - George
Hi George - I have just the basic Mavic Mini II
Great video! I hope you can find the funds to keep this boat running. No better caretaker and host than you!
Good luck Nick. Great to meet you and your Dad in Victoria. Jamie Webb, MMBC
I am so excited forgou
Brilliant,
Thanks!
Signed up. Cant wait to keep following. Hope to see you again soon!
Best of luck, Nick. All my surplus money is tied up in my own wooden boat rebuild as well as the rest of life, so I i cant contribute, but I'm sure you'll find a way whether the boat is in your hands or someone else's.
Thank you!
Also, Off Center Harbor might be a possibility. They did a great interview last year with my friend J. Michael Davidson and his restoration of S/V Starlight. Many like minded souls there. Just a thought.
❤
Great to see Pete again, Argonaut is in good hands with the likes of him o the job!
Hey nick keep the boat do the work in stages the boat needs you
Your sister's area is lovely. I will check out your website
Awesome! Thank you!
This is just me thinking out loud. Hartley Bay was involved in tourism and education in the part of the Great Bear Rain Forest that is within their land. I think Bella Bella was also involved in education and tourism within their part of the GBRF. If they still are, Argonaut 11 could be a nice fit. Just a thought.

I'm going to be 80 in March. My $300,000 shop/studio project ran aground at the hands of a charlatan framing contractor who walked on the contract leaving thousands in correction costs and a largely unfinished build. He broke me. My income short of ability to procure a lone, and family members unable to help out, I'm pursueing a reverse mortage . When I get fulsh, and I will, I will make a donation. You are the perfect blessing for Argonaut II. You're inspirational, dynamic, and all around lovely. Don't sell that boat. My boat, a 1929 cutter has been a dream and a nightmare. With still a little more to go on her long time restoration I took a look at selling her so as to finish the new building with the proceeds. I'd just as soon shoot my dog if I had one. You will succeed, and be proud that you did. Make us all proud.
I hope you get the funds you need Nick!!!
Thank you, I so appreciate it!
Best of luck to keep her going...it would be a shame to lose all that...
Thanks for the enlightenment.😊❤
You have a knack for video. Good job Let's go.
I would totally pay for a vacation on the Argonaut! You could start offering vacation packages.
Hi Greg! I do have the boat set up for charter! Reach out if you’re interested
@@MV_Argonautno way! That's awesome.
Stick with it nick itll go
I'm broke like you wouldn't believe, but I really hope you get this money and keep this old boat going!
Thanks, Matthew! Appreciate the encouragement
I can't think of a better caretaker for Argonaut II and I know with the power of numbers we can help you raise the money. I loved touring the boat and meeting you at the PTWBF last month. I signed up as a regular contributor on Patreon at the end of September.
Thanks, Drew! I saw that come in and really appreciate your support. Crossing my fingers!
Another great video its great to see people able to follow their dreams I wish you and your sister the best in the future
I really admire what you are doing to preserve Argonaut. There's a small Paypal donation on its way to you from Dubai...
Thanks!
Thank you!!
$2 ?????????
@@HartPfortmueller 😂 I was gonna give $50 but google doesn’t give the option. It’s $2 or nothing. Crazy. Why he don’t setup for e-transfer?
Thanks!
Quite the contrast from port townsend to Colorado wow! Both equally beautiful all the best with whatever happens next
Great to meet your charming sister! 👍
Donated a little via Paypal
Thank you so much, I appreciate the support!
Was the boat ever involved with any SCUBA Diving in the PNW in the past, that you know of? If so I could share this in my PNW SCUBA Divers fb group.
Hi Bill! I don’t know of any history of SCUBA diving but that’s kind and I appreciate the support!
Your sister’s horse is a beauty.
So good to see Pete after Tally Ho!
Aa a (retired) horse show Dad, I subscribed to the "You can't get ahead, when you own something that eats while you sleep." philosophy! Horses and wooden boats are in that category. I have liked and subscribed, for now. That is all that my SS income will permit. Best of luck!
Hi Glen! Thank you! Haha glad to have landed on an audience who is into both (but likely the only video that I'll have out with so much horse content...just did a quick vacation out to visit my sister). Appreciate your support.
@@MV_Argonaut, I really love the boat and your efforts! Maybe you can ask Tally Ho to throw in a pitch for you. I know there is crossover between the two groups because that is how I originally found you.
Thanks!
I so appreciate your support, thank you!
Do a "Go Fund Me" page! Many other boaters had great success with that!
Yes, it's another option! I am going to see how well this channel continues to grow over the coming months and I'm willing to try new methods if I need to
Wow, Boats, history, people, food, and worthwhile videos. OK, I'll keep up my patreon contributions, but if you want serious money, you need a serious hat while on the ranch. 🙂
Hi Marc, thank you so much! I'll have to let my sister know...(can you tell I don't do so well out of the water?)
Can't wait for "Hey Pete, what you doing?" "Fixing Argonaut II !"
A compelling message. I know this can work out and I hope it does. I look forward to more updates.
Good luck with the project. I hope you are able to keep the boat. I am looking forward to catching up with "No feet Pete" after he left the Tally Ho.
😮😮😮 So that email was real...??
😎💚💙👍👍🍺🍺🍻
Your intro to this video activated my imagination to anticipate that you were announcing your commitment to become a missionary and carry on with the history and legacy of Argonaut II. In doing so, you would continue to unite people and bring sustenance to all who you encounter. After hearing your intended announcement, I think I am not wrong.
Good luck!
Thanks!
Thank you SO much, Neil! Much appreciated!
Enjoyed watching Nick deliver hot coco to Bob the harbor master, rowing 'lil Argo' at WBF.
Only Bob receives that kind of first class service
