I threw out my marine toilet, but it was some 1980s unit that was mostly comprised of disintegrating plastic. Good on you for fixing yours. It's actually a nice item... for a toilet.
Love the jazzy intro and outro! Who knew a boat toilet could be so interesting? I'm glad you're maintaining the old parts instead of just replacing the entire thing.
Haha yes, Pete! He helped me on a big project last year replanting the starboard side of Argonaut II…hoping to do a video on it at some point, I regret not doing a better job documenting. He is fabulous and continues to do cool projects up in Port Townsend.
Housekeeping secret. Every month pour a gallon of vinegar down each toilet. Your pipes will be magically cleaned., and it does no harm to any components.
ugh, been through it with my WC as well. I had to use al l the "close enough" gaskets and its just never quite right. Its sad because these are superior to just about any head on the market today.
So I ended up just cleaning the old gaskets and putting them back, works great! Only thing is the inlet fixture in the back of the base is pretty worn and still leaks… I would like to try and find a replacement off another old Wilcox if I can find one.
Hi Maine Sail, I'm not sure that's entirely correct. I do see both terms written out, with the "duck" valves terminology referring to the single slit valves, vs. the tri-slit styles that may be more common in marine applications.

Hah thank you. It is a really cool toilet, something I never thought I’d ever say (or certainly not spend time making a video on it)!
"did a lot of hugging an old toilet" lmao

lol thanks, Ted! My number one fan...
00:15 PETE!!!
Hope you're well dude!
Miss seeing you on Sampson, what are you doing now?!

Looks like you could use some support.
Hi Cory! That is so generous of you, thank you so much, that means a lot.
The plaq is called Urea, and it's pretty common on landbound urinals. It's also used in diesel engines for emissions.
Love these videos of this nice boat. Keep e'm coming. Do you take request? Would love a boat tour😊
Yes, boat tour is coming!!
The old saying holds true. “A boat is a hole in the water you throw money into”. 😂

Driving the porcelain bus 😂

Fascinating, albeit gross at times.😄
IT'S A JOKER VALVE-duck valve was created by some know nothing jerk-your boat demands correct jargon.
