    Congratulations do you feel tired or moody with the low amounts of food intake? Id love to know what you typically eat throughout the day

    • @runforyourlifeuk
      @runforyourlifeuk 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For me personally I don't feel tired or moody. I'm on 1700 calories a day and my typical diet is: Breakfast- 2x Weatabix and Milk with some raisins (250cal) Lunch - Bagel with low fat cream cheese and smoked salmon (300cal) Dinner - 500cal Then with the remainder 650 calories I'll have snacks throughout the day e.g Protein Yogurt (150cal), Banana (100cal), Apple (130cal), Pepperamini mini (50cal). So actually snacks are my biggest intake but it's what works for me... When you look at that list you realise it's still a good amount of food so I'm not hungry but I'm making sure that it's good food and I'm removing oil, fat, sugar etc.

    Hi mate.I am on my 4th week on mounjaro to and lost nearly a stone in weight already.I am currently on 2.5mg and going on 5mg in a few days and so far I have no side effects yet to.I was wondering if you have started the 5mg pen yet?.Congrats on your success so far by the way.

      Well done! I did 4 weeks on 2.5mg and then moved up to 5mg. I'm on Day 5 of 5mg and have had minimal side effects apart from feeling more full after meals... which I guess is due to a larger dose. So for me personally... no bad side effects (fingers crossed). Good luck.

    I'm not going to comment on your overall eating/exercise/ health plan. Your business is your business. But I *strongly* suggest you schedule a consolation with an actual registered dietitian (RD or RDN)... NOT a 'weight loss coach' or a 'nutritionist' or a 'nutritional expert', but an ACTUAL RD/RDN. Provide them with ALL your relevant data, meds, and current & projected training load. You're currently doing 25mi/wk? This will only increase as this training block progresses. Man, you REALLY REALLY need someone with professional credentials to review your 1500 cal./day plan, while taking a GLP-1, WHILE training for a half marry. Just for reference, I'm like 100 lbs less than you. I'm running around 70mi/wk and I'm HAVING to consume on avg from 2500-2800/day just to maintain... and this w/o weight training tossed in; only doing body weight resistance work 3 days a week to stem muscle loss. Anyway, best of luck

  • @crosshaircycling7156
    @crosshaircycling7156 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well done! I’m similarly far along. Depending on what I count as my start weight, I’ve lost at least 10lbs. The maths don’t stack up on that being fat of course- it’s likely muscle glycogen stores and the 4x amount of water they get stored in. Now, it has settled down to what a diet used to feel like 10-15years ago (ie gradual daily fat loss). I’m AMAZED how little food I want to eat. I have had so many mental battles with myself over the years as I diet-binge-feel disgusted- diet to no avail but now, I can live up to what I’m trying to achieve. I don’t think the doubters will believe we are still having to do it ourselves though but I don’t feel like this is an easy option when considered with injecting yourself every week! The effects are wearing off a little (or rather I’m just hungry after eating 800-1000kcal net for ten days!) so it will be interesting to see how 5mg feels next month. Well done, good luck and keep us posted 👍🏻

    • @runforyourlifeuk
      @runforyourlifeuk หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well done to you too. You're right about how much of my loss was actually fat-loss, and this week I'll lose less, but I'm happy with a healthy gradual loss each week. Day 6-7 are a little harder but I haven't caved or anything so I'm very happy!

    So. Is it a craving suppression drug or a weight loss drug? How much would you lose if you ate 1500kcal without it and same exercise would you lose the same? The problem for me is I love and think about food all the time and it's difficult to out train eating loads. If I took something to help It would be for stopping me thinking about food! Can't imagine what not thinking about food for a day let alone few weeks!

    • @runforyourlifeuk
      @runforyourlifeuk หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's more for cravings rather than other drugs that perhaps target fat, so yes... if I ate the same calories and did the same exercise I'd lose the same weight. But... like you I love food and this has put a stop (mostly) to those thoughts... so my body isn't craving food... plus it also slows down the rate of food passing through your stomach so you will feel fuller for longer. Have a read up about Mounjaro if you think it's something that could help...

      @GingerGoesGLP1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are quite a few people who manage to eat 1500 calories on this and lose weight at 1-2 lbs week. For me the appetite suppression is so strong I’m lucky to eat 1200-1300 calories a day. The food noise and food craving STOPPED DEAD for me on day one. I have lots to lose so a lower calorie diet will be fine for me. It’s a tool and works as well as you use it. Definitely do the research first and don’t just follow us randos on the internet 🤣

I don’t want alcohol. My blood sugar has dropped from pre-diabetes into completely normal and my sleep apnea has disappeared. I’ve lost 55 pounds in 5 1/2 months. It’s a miracle.

    I’m on week 2 and have had no real side effects other than constipation, and feeling tired, probably due to not eating enough nor drinking enough water! I'm glad to hear it's working for you and hopefully a diet change can 'move things along'... As it's reduced calories I'm really trying to be mindful of what I'm eating and ensuring I get enough protein. After my runs I've been having a protein shake too so I can up that protein intake. Good luck on the journey.

      I just did a search and Drugs.com says "The 2.5 mg dosage is used only for treatment initiation to help you get used to side effects." So whilst frustrating to not get an immediate effect you could move up to 5mg in 2 weeks.

      Oh no. Hopefully it's just the result of having too much in your stomach so see how the week goes. I hope you're feeling better today. I think I've definitely been on the lucky side so far, and I've watched some videos of people who were fine on the 2.5mg dose and then the 5mg dose, but then had "bowel issues" when they moved to 7.5mg, so it's a little unpredictable.

    I’ve been looking forward to a video like this. It’s hard to find people who are active but still struggle with being overweight and are considering Mounjaro to lose weight while also increasing their activity levels. I’ve decided to start Mounjaro in the new year. Every year, I lose 10-15kg, only to gain it all back-it’s a relentless cycle. I go through phases of strict dieting but inevitably fall off track. Now, at 43, I’m starting to question how healthy it is to keep fluctuating like this. I’m hoping Mounjaro will help me lose the weight and maintain it long enough for my body to adjust to a new set point. I work out a lot, which drives my appetite sky-high-even to the point where it feels counterproductive for managing my weight.

    • @runforyourlifeuk

      I figured there were people in the same situation so I'm glad I shared. I'm only 4 days in but my mind has switched off from constantly thinking about food. I ran for 90mins yesterday burning 1300cals but haven't been craving today which is a mega change but I'm also aware that I need energy so it's going to be a balancing act to ensure I can sustain longer runs. I'll post a video about this in very soon.

    • @runforyourlifeuk
      @runforyourlifeuk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's all natural. I was surprised how much of your body you use for a run. It's not just your legs but your arms a lot too. As for knee and ankle pains that can be down to the types of shoe you wear. You can do a gait analysis and it will tell you the type of shoes you need. I overpronate and getting supportive shoes with cushioning helped cut down on my knee pains. It sounds a bit fancy but it really helps.

    • @runforyourlifeuk
      @runforyourlifeuk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard. Obviously I'm not able to give medical advice here but to be honest I'd say just start with walking and don't think about running yet and listen to your body. You will get fitter by walking, and that's a more sensible place to start, gradually increasing the distances you're out for. There's also less chance of picking up and injury etc. You won't need any equipment/clothing for walking and once you feel more confident you can start introducing some faster pace elements. At lower fitness levels your heartrate will increase and your body will ache when doing exercise, but as you get fitter that should decrease and you can start thinking about Couch to 5k. I hope that helps, but again it's just advice on how I would go about things.

    • @waynehearne5498
      @waynehearne5498 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Run/walks are good. Maybe start doing 100m jog then 100m walk. Do that for a mile. Gradually you will get fitter.

      Cheers Gary. The best thing I did is to remember that running is meant to be fun. If going a bit slower means I enjoy it and get injured less then that's the way it has to be. If I lose some weight then I could get a bit faster again... but lockdown etc isn't the right place for that so I'll settle for dropping pace a little!

    Always amazes me how people can run and still speak without breathlessness

      It's all relative and some people can have a chat and be absolutely bombing it along. I love a chat on my runs but if I stop talking you know that I'm finding it hard to breath! :)

      Theres no way i could talk during a run, not even after a warm down as i'm stiil getting my breath back.

      I tend to run better if i talk to be honest even if its just singing to tunes
