    I love how this genius uses the stops very tastefully, especially on the pedal selection, control of all them heavy powerful stops and he uses them when needed. Not just flat out all the time. Really does make this amazing gent a league of his own and good luck to him. What a musician 👏

    Whilst it's truly an impressive instrument, you've dissected it and made it 'look' sterile! The wow factor of a Wurlitzer is the magnificent console rising from the stage with the totally Awe-inspiring sound but in a Palace of Astoundment!!! "The Moving Picture House"! These were Cathedrals of Entertainment and it's one thing fantastic to preserve the organ but to lay it open like this in my opinion destroys the magic of the organ! It's supposed to transform people 'magically' into a place that's 'away' from Real Life in a place filled with Glamour that makes us ALL feel fantastic! I am of course hugely glad to see another Wurlitzer playing again and I am grateful for this. I just wish it was still in the Auditorium it was first installed in (smiles). Keep up the good work and keep this wonderful instrument playing!

    • @scottmusic242
      @scottmusic242 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Wanamaker organ is a concert organ. This is a theater organ. There are no larger theater organs in the world. You are comparing apples and oranges. If you want to compare apples to apples, the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall organ is the largest concert organ in the world...and much larger than Wanamaker.

    Wonderful performance- shows Wurlitzers and other cinema organs can do more than the music they are intended more. Would love to hear the "Prince of Denmark" played with the trumpet solo included on a cinema organ (as well as a Whiter Shade Of Pale). Theres even a youtube video of the intro of "Mr. Crowley" played on a Wurlitzer by an Ozzy Osbourne cover band

    FYI, the music was composed by the legendary Sherman Brothers (Robert and Richard), Richard died last week and Robert died a while ago. They also composed iconic Disney themes like Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, as well as "It's A Small World".

    Greetings Scott, Question about another video you posted that is tagged as "for kids" thus commenting is disabled. The Finlandia (Sibelius - Moller roll # 275) one. How can "so few holes wide" possibly control multiple manuals + stop selection + swell position? Is the roll only supplying some of the input and other input comes from elsewhere?

    • @scottmusic242
      @scottmusic242 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I apologize that I didn't see your message until today. I have no idea how I accidentally clicked on the "for kids" button. I changed that. You can now comment. The Moller Roll player doesn't play directly to the organ/pipes. It is connected and adapted to a computer which is running the Uniflex Organ Control System. If you are unfamiliar with Uniflex, here is a link... www.uccourt.com/index.html You can also find youtube videos on the Uniflex system. Within the Uniflex software, you can assign organ manuals, couplers, ranks/instruments, swell controls, pistons....etc. So, every hole in the Moller roll has been assigned to a multitude of instrument controls. The Uniflex can basically play the roll on the few stops/manuals that it was originally written on, or it can be greatly expanded to exercise the full versatility of the organ. Additionally, as the Moller Roll player is playing, you can sit at the organ console and play "duet" along with the Moller roll that is playing. I hope this provides a little bit of the explanation for you. Again, I apologize that I didn't see your message until today....8-18-2024. -Scott

      @@scottmusic242Greetings Scott, Yes I am familiar with Uniflex. ????? I would have thought those rolls are old / antique, not Uniflex encoding method. So with so many notes possible on a multiple manual TO console, plus the pedal board, plus all of the stop tabs.... would fast run out of holes wide on the antique roll.

    I know it sounds great in the warehouse, but I just think it needs a home in a great theater or concert hall.

    • @scottmusic242
      @scottmusic242 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The organ will have a great theatre/concert hall at the end of this year, 2024. The Carmex Corporation will be moving out of the building in December and taking all the racks and boxes with it. What remains will be a 40,000 square foot Auditorium with a 3-second acoustic reverberation.

    How times have changed in the theatre organ world? Back in the 20/30s, you would have never seen any of the workings of the organ! All hidden away behind decorative panels. I think it added to the mystery of these organs for the patrons? This one looks like it's set up in the Wurlitzer factory for test or demonstration? Certainly being played by an organist who knows how to entertain!

      Carma labs doesn't own the organ. The organ only resides in the Carma Labs building. Carma Labs will be moving out of the building by the end of this year, 2024, leaving the organ and the building. My family who owns Carma Labs will transfer the building ownership from the corporation to my family. The organ won't transfer ownership because the organ was never owned by Carma Labs. The organ has always been solely owned by Paul Woelbing.
