      @@hussainalisa-hs7xt I understand where you’re coming from, however, these generators are that durable. If you like, I can throw it around and scuff it up a little bit if that’s what you need to see. Come to think of it. It is pretty scuffed up right now, I can shoot a new video so you can see cosmetics have little to do with the inside.

    That’s an automotive rubber boot nothing special I have many on my shelf. Oh and that’s a generic Chinese heater $100 all day long all you’re paying for is the box and the marine gas cap. And how does that thermostat work when it is outside in the box?

  •  หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well done.

  • @odcaveman6360
    @odcaveman6360 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There is literally nothing this offers over an off the shelf unit from china mart express. You get an intercooler boot, a vent for a tent which I'm not sure how that would even work, a dc power supply and an overpriced fuel tank and enclosure which is why it's so expensive. Just looking at this thing in the video the build quality is dismal at best because there is nothing novel here. Anyone can take this package and throw it into a big heavy box. The key is making it lightweight and small form factor. Its a fuel tank with a heater unit and the control screen metal zip tied to the fuel tank. The aluminum cowling over the heat exchanger is the only nice part of this and even then I have two of them identical to that direct from the chicoms on their heaters.

    I am very interested in towing one of these behind my model Y. Carry my gear, camp kitchen, keep the back of the car decluttered for camp mode. Do you (or anyone else in the comments) have an estimate for efficiency numbers (wh/mi) while towing? Also, do you think you could add a 12v outlet in the trailer so I can use it to charge a battery pack I'd like to keep in there?

  • @monkeydav1
    @monkeydav1 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Waiting for mine to arrive. With a tent that big, you could consider hooking up an exhaust pipe to it and keeping the unit inside the tent. That way it would be recirculating the air instead of heating cold air. Would save gas but I'm not sure how hot the exhaust pipe would get or how noisy it would be. I'm going to be using it with an RTT so I wouldn't want to do that.

    I own 10 generators of all sizes, gas only, duel fuel and on new tri fuel. For a lot of simple uses a small generator running on gasoline seems to serve the purpose best. For home backup use with a larger generator, either propane or natural gas seems to be best. Personally, I use a tri fuel generator for home backup through a proper transfer switch and find this far better in all respects.. The generator never will have gas in it, so storage is not a problem, and natural gas heats my home and is readily available. Also MUCH less expensive to run on natural gas.. My 10500 generator on natural gas costs just 36 cents an hour to run versus $5 an hour on regular gasoline. Plus no storage problems ever. I also have a propane tank as a backup just in case the natural gas supply goes down (HIGHLY unlikely where I am in Canada). Maybe "overkill" but it's like insurance that gives you something for your money and never needs a costly annual update. Your mileage may vary however....

    • @4wdTALK
      @4wdTALK หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes, compared to a van with a standard stock roof, this option can carry more weight. However, camper tops like this add valuable vertical space, which is a significant advantage. That said, it's worth noting that you may lose some of the roof's weight capacity in the process.

    So how much did they pay you to pass off this Chinese heater (that they put in a new shiny box) as good deal, or a cool deal, or as ANYTHING other than an overpriced rebranding of the same machine you can get for $85-100 on Amazon? Not only is the company that MARKETS (they did not “manufacture” it!) this disgraceful, this site that reviewed it is just as disingenuous. But hey! Anything for a buck I guess. Why does it not surprise me this guy is from California?

    • @4wdTALK
      @4wdTALK หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your feedback, though I have to wonder-do you work for a competing diesel heater company? Your accusations and tone seem to suggest an ulterior motive. Let me clarify a few things: Transparency Is Key: Yes, Sparks Overland sent me this prototype heater to review (which I mentioned in the first video already), as they did with their first version, which I openly criticized in a previous video because it didn’t meet my standards. I’m not in the business of endorsing products I don’t believe in. If you had actually watched my prior reviews, you’d know this. Not Your Average Heater: You mentioned $85 Chinese heaters from Amazon-believe me, I’ve tested several of those, and the quality isn’t even in the same ballpark. Sparks Overland’s prototype uses over-engineered parts and is built with a level of precision that those budget heaters don’t touch. Yes, the core of this heater is sourced from China (I corrected myself on that in this video after misspeaking earlier), but that’s hardly a sin in manufacturing. Just like companies such as Ineos, Apple, Boeing, or even Land Rover, Sparks Overland uses global sourcing to deliver what looks to be a good heater. The Test That Matters: My review focused on whether this heater did what it was supposed to do-keep my tent warm during a cold night in Big Bear. It delivered exactly what I hoped for, without issue. I didn’t claim it was a “deal” or push it as some unbeatable bargain; I evaluated its performance as objectively as possible. Constructive Dialogue Over Criticism: It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and hurl insults without offering evidence or even engaging in good faith. If you’d like to have a productive discussion about diesel heaters and share your experiences, I’m happy to hear them. But sweeping accusations and unfounded insults reflect poorly on you, not me or Sparks Overland. Reminder this is a prototype: As I mentioned, the exact heater I have is a prototype machine #1, ground zero, first out… I mentioned in the video these guys have been making a ton of changes to their heater in their attempt to deliver the best product they can. While they didn’t invent this style of heater, they are putting a genuine footforward to create something that has their own twist on it. Finally, I stand by my reviews. I take pride in providing honest assessments, even when it means admitting mistakes or pointing out flaws in products sent to me. If you’re genuinely interested in discussing the product further or sharing your thoughts, I encourage a respectful dialogue. Otherwise, this kind of baseless rant doesn’t serve anyone. Thanks for watching the video-hopefully, you can approach the next one with a more open mind.

    Here’s an idea, don’t put any gas in the generator until you are ready to use it immediately after adding fuel. Leave the gas in a gas can and if you are worried about its age then either add a stabilizer to the fuel in the can or put the gas in your lawn equipment or car.

      These heaters are garbage. I bought a second one a few months ago for a follow video. It cost $78. Think about this, Amazon made money, manufacture made money and of course HCalory made money. After profits removed, this is likely at $30 heater. Nope... hard pass for me.
