Taking off a hat or cap while eating is often considered a sign of respect and good manners in many cultures. This tradition has roots in various historical and social customs: Respect for Others: Removing a hat indoors, particularly at the dining table, is seen as a gesture of respect for the host, other diners, and the setting. It demonstrates thoughtfulness and consideration. Religious and Cultural Practices: In some cultures and religions, removing a hat indoors, especially during meals or prayer, symbolizes humility and respect for the occasion or space. Hygiene and Cleanliness: Hats or caps can collect dirt or dust, so removing them in a dining area helps maintain a clean environment. Social Etiquette: Traditional etiquette books and societal norms often emphasize taking off hats as a sign of courtesy. While these practices have evolved over time, they still carry weight in formal or traditional settings. While not everyone follows this practice today, especially in casual or modern contexts, it remains a common courtesy in many parts of the world.
In some cultures and religions, wearing a hat is seen as a sign of respect, modesty, or reverence in specific settings, such as during prayer or while in the presence of authority. For example, in the Jewish tradition, men wear a kippah (yarmulke) to signify their awareness and respect for God’s presence. Similarly, in Islamic culture, head coverings like kufis or hijabs are worn for spiritual and modesty reasons. These practices often extend beyond places of worship into everyday life, symbolizing a commitment to one's faith and values. From a hygiene perspective, hats also offer a practical benefit-they help keep hair contained and minimize the spread of dandruff or other particles, which can be particularly important in shared or formal spaces. Historically, this was especially relevant when sanitation practices weren’t as advanced as they are today. In the context of a court, however, the symbolism and appropriateness of wearing a hat can vary significantly. Courts are spaces where tradition, decorum, and respect for the institution and its representatives are paramount. In many Western courts, hats are typically removed as a sign of deference to the judge and the judicial process, reflecting a tradition rooted in the belief that removing a hat shows humility. It also eliminates any potential barrier between an individual and the authority of the court, ensuring clear communication and equality before the law. However, there are exceptions. Religious head coverings, such as hijabs, turbans, or kippahs, are generally respected in courtrooms as they represent deeply held beliefs rather than casual attire. In these cases, wearing a hat or head covering isn’t just about personal preference-it’s a reflection of identity, culture, and faith. Courts in many countries now strive to balance these traditions with modern inclusivity, ensuring that individuals practicing their religion feel respected and heard. Ultimately, whether wearing a hat in court is appropriate depends on the context. It’s always important to understand the expectations and rules of the specific courtroom and to prioritize showing respect to the institution and those present.
After Boracay, you can check out Calaguas island, the Dinagat islands or Palawan's Long Beach in the San Vicente municipality. Boracay is kind of a tourist trap, as all of the prices are jacked up over there.
Awesome 👏
Hi Craig. MERALCO or Manila Electric Company has officially released a public announcement that starting 1st quarter 2025 until its completion, they will start their biggest underground cabling of hanging wires or the so called "spaghetti wires". They will spend hundreds of millions of pesos in putting the wires undergorund and getting rid of those lamp poses. Finally.... this will enhance the image of National Capital Region.
Nice video, Craig. It would be interesting if you can show some of your short conversations/chats with the locals (e.g. waiters, cashiers, random strangers) since you know a few local phrases 👏👏👏 Enjoy your adventures 🙏🙏🙏
Its makati ,metro manila.

If i don't like the food I'll just stay away from that place :) ----- In the majority they speak " Kalabaw english" or "Barok English" chop chop English but you can understand it anyways just be patient. ------In (iskams) just be aware that smile isn't just a gesture but it may have a deeper meaning depends on the situation (LIKE TAXI's) Make sure they use metro so you can monitor the fair (and square). ---- Many elders in the Philippines respected by saying PO and OPO after asking..----- End comment: Tipping is engraved in the culture and make you respectable even if it is below a cent...
Safety in the Philippines depends on where you are located... Migrating one's prefers islas (If you are in mindanao specially isolated ones (Liblib na lugar) expect you are in danger (Pirate, Terrorist and Jealous neighboor)...Visayas region is much more safer around El nido palawan or Mindoro... In Metro manila it isn't safe in major slums since (Mapagsamantala) Opportunist are everywhere. They smile at you yet they have hidden agendas. (Mga pinoy alam nyo din yan wag na kumumag)....
Cost of living in the Philippines is how your want to be freedom take you on the next level... These are the lvl. you can choose from. LVL 1. = some Restaurant is much more costly than your average US based one since some pinoys (more social climbers) think they are superior being even if they are dirt poor still choose high cost resto and bar. LVL 2. = can afford mid tier but choose high costly one.... LVL 3. = those who don't have the budget yet prefer mid-tier resto. LVL 4. = only afford fast foods... LVL 5. = can afford karenderia... LVL 6. = Instant meals (Mami, Lugaw, Turo turo, Kwekwek)......................... This is just based on the working class.....LVL 7. = .................... can't afford anything else and staying whenever/wherever they are hope to fill their empty stomach.
Watched this whole video and didn’t learn a single thing about how to make money in the Philippines lol
@@Ayeejaay summary: Work Remotely 👍
There is no comparison 😃 They are 2 of the most famous islands in the Philippines 🇵🇭 El Nido - Palawan for limestone cliffs, natural wonders, island hopping amongst an archphelego of beautiful islands with lagoons and Boracay is more of a beach fromt island with it's prestine white sand beach. If you mostly want a beach right on your doorstep just for walking up and down Boracay is for you. If your looking more towards an adventure amongst nature, then El Nido - Palawan is for you. I've done both and enjoyed Boracay for a whole 5 days just being on the beach, although there are island tours and Boracay has a lot to offered in terms of water sports and boat tours. El Nido should be compared more to Coron as the are both on Palawan Island. El Nido & Boracay are completely on a different level. The great thing about Boracay is that it's within easy reaching distance from Manila, Bohol and Cebu, so you could spend a few days in Cebu and Bohol as well as Boracay. For El Nido visit Honda Bay in Puerto Princesa and the underground river, then a few days later go to El Nido for a good 5 days, may be even 7 days. Port Barton is also in Palawan as well as the famous Coron
Craig- What I found is Philippine take-away shops are much cheaper…
I'm a Filipino 🇵🇭 and heck I haven't even visited Visayas and Mindanao.

@@polyguerratravelvlogs7629 welcome to TH-cam 👍
Some foreigners, are having a hard time assimilating to the filipino culture and values. Instead of assimilating they tend to impose their own culture, coupled with a sense of superiority and thats where the problem starts, specially for those married to a Filipina or Filipino.
Nothing beats "Back Beach Burgers" in Boracay.
I am curious, because the video i just watched asked why so many are LEAVING. TH-cam is the problem in many cases. You guys will make a video for clickbait because you don't have any original content.

yes your comments are pretty reasonable. I have been coming here since 2001, including being a volunteer inside Bilibid and Medium security prisons for over two years I am currently in Libnaman 320 klms south of Manila as a volunteer for the PRESBYTERIAN Church with free accommodation being provided with a beautiful Filipino family who are all university graduates.
Food poisoning-,I’ve had a couple of times because I didn’t wash hands thoroughly . It’s not the food itself I think but the germs on what else you touch. Alcohol gel is a great way to sort it.
More affordable?! A nice part of fucking HEMET IN THE DESERT, next door to the ghetto part is DOUBLE the rent you layed out.

As a beginner what do I need to do? How can I invest, on which platform? If you know any please share.
I know this lady you just mentioned. She's really good with and on her job. She's helped a couple of families and individuals' finances
She is really a good investment advisor. I was privileged to attend some of her seminars, that's how I started my crypto investment

I see a lot of these types of videos and they make all the same mistakes. Generally speaking they simply aren't qualified to make this type of video. Human bias is a thing and it is usually inaccurate no matter what people in the comment section say. The proof is in the reality pudding. Film real life, in real time and then let the reality speak for itself. Almost always these videos are a waste of time as they don't depict the reality of the country the youtuber is talking about.
@@plantmanstudios but surely everyone is entitled to their own opinion based on their own experience? I get your point, but just filming randomly in real time as you've suggested would be an incredibly boring video so it's not so appealing to do that as a content creator.
