@@AndyGustavsson yea, I'm a big fan of slow shutter speeds too. It's common for me to shoot at 1/40th to 1/80th, but then I always use a tripod. I noticed for your shots, it was kind of breezy, so that is going to make it way tougher too. But in spite of all that, you got the shots, so that's what matters 🙂👍

@@gaborbaross6119 hey Gabor! Thanks for reaching out! I used 500mm for this video might have used a 1.4 teleconverter as well, cant recall! If I’m not wrong, This area is now closed for the public due to continued disturbance… they have removed the pathway around the area.

@@TimKaseyMythHealer yes it is hard work at first but once you get used to it, it’s the best ! I usually show up 1hour before sunrise, grab a coffee and rest until the birds show up! 😁🙏

@@AndyGustavsson Yes, my best photo day was like this (actually three days). Day one, shot nearly 100 photos, and was frustrated because I missed so many opportunities, and the shots I did get, everything was wrong. Day two, was as crappy as day one. Day three, out of pure frustration I planned as much as possible. I knew in advance where the sun would be shining, and that I needed to be utilizing auto everything, tweaking the manual settings only after I've captured several images with automatic. I took over 800 photos, and finally had something I was happy with. By the end of the day I was nearly sun burnt, and exhausted. This is hard work (as you say).

@@AndyGustavsson The two crappy days I had this idea that I needed to use manual and increase ISO to see the dark side of the bird. I blew out every photograph, and the ones that were set properly took too long & I missed some amazing activity. Continuing to perfect the strategy. Being lightning fast, and ready to get the shot in perfect focus and exposure is primary at this time.

@@trevorridgers2923 thank you so much Trevor! Glad I have a tripod head mounted to the hide, mad it so it can’t tip backwards into the water nor so the front element will reach the water if it tilts forward but yes, it’s a bit nerv wrecking at times😅
