It worked for us! Thank you. ***One thing for others is that when you get to the last little part to remove, it is just the "spinny cap" part you pry out, not the entire round section it rests in. We beat that up pretty good unnecessarily

Excellent guide. Fixed mine today following your guide. Although I had to also remove the cover (same T8 screws) and twiddle with the belt drive to get it rolling. Thanks a lot!

This worked for us, so thanks! Saved us 50.00 as we thought we'd need to buy a new head. It's definitely worth getting a T8 if you don't have one. Makes the job much easier.

Game, Set, Match. Totally crushed this failure mode after completing a deep clean of the Vacuum. Same culprit!!

Wish Dyson would design their products so consumers can maintain and clean the most common wear and tear, I bought a new vacuum head thinking the motor was failing when all it was is my GF long thin hair. Wish I had checked the Web before. Keep up the good work

Brilliant, this happened on one of my previous Dyson cleaners and I was convinced it was a connection issue so ordered a new head at £60+ Same happened on my later V6 Animal, came across your video and it worked a treat. Also gave the bearings behind the washer a tiny drop of synthetic oil, runs like new. Cheers.

Pop a tiny squirt of WD40 in that bearing whilst you’ve got it opened up. Sometimes just cleaning the hair out isn’t enough; I imagine the burning hair dries it out nicely. Thanks for the video - very clear and helpful. I’ve also got a hairy wife and two hairy children, so this is a common problem.

The screwdriver that you are using is called a T-8?? Is it a star shape? I have every screwdriver every invented and tons of star shaped screwdriver things and I cannot find one that works to remove the black piece holding the brush.

Wow, can't believe this ridiculous design flaw is so easy to fix when you know how. Had to go out and purchase a T8 but once done the fix was quick and easy. Thanks for the easy instructions. No thanks to Dyson!!

Brilliant - I had tried everything else, even Dyson website and loads of other youtube vidoes but no-one else suggested this fix. I ordered a T8 screwdriver and then followed your instructions and works perfectly. Thank you so much saved me £55 for new motorised head.

Worked like a charm. Hardest part was actually finding a T8 screwdriver anywhere. Spent $10 to save $300 on a new one!!!

Great info,I couldn't figure out how the small brush was working but the large one started then stopped.Even after I took out the large brush motor to test which was fine..

I've got an oddball older model- Couldn't get the drive cam out...so I WD-40'd it all to heck and -presto! Thanks-d
