HELP! i purchased a preset for my bass that includes overdrive (FS1) and a microsynth (FS2). I want to add a specific sound from a different preset to FS3 but I don't know how. Specifically, I want to copy the Bass Octaver from the SubBass preset and transfer it to my new preset as FS3....is this possible? BTW, I already disabled the TAP/TUNER option and assigned FS3 to Stomp. Thank you for any help you can offer!!!

The fact that the Kemper was launched in 2011 and is still receiving free firmware upgrades which gives us lucky customers better and better functionality, says a lot about Kemper ethos and their dedication to keeping their existing customers happy. It also says a lot about the superb initial design of the hardware which was designed to be powerful enough to allow for a staggering number of software upgrades. For me, those two facts are massive reasons to stay with Kemper until they bring out their next major product. I look forward to to seeing what they will do next.

Nice summary of the important points, thanks! I just entered the Tonex ecosystem with the Tonex One, and just tried using it as a programable drive pedal. I'm getting more background noise than expected when using the "Gold Centaur" preset. Are there power supply requirements to avoid excess noise?

I fucking love my kemper. The price has come down a lot for second hand units too! The only thing i wish was the kemper stage was a little smaller in footprint without compromising what it currently offers. Other than that, I got zero intention getting anything else.

wooow i realized watching this, that my GT1K is way beyond the Kemper 🚀...single amp path in 2024! when my old Gt100 has already Dual-Proc powa back in 2018 🤔 i can even have 4 Amps in the same preset taking advantage of the 4 signal paths in // + 2 separate loops + the 2 Amp blocks + 4 EQ + 4 Delays + a Dual Reverb ...and myriads of FXs of all kind

That gold Japanese Tele you have there is beautiful, passed up an opportunity to buy one in Melbourne about a year ago and due to low funds, couldn't make it happen. I did this with the mechanical keyboard hobby. From 2020 to 2022 i spent a lot of money and time buying, shopping etc. Trying not to make the same decisions with guitar 🎸. Cheers I like the idea of mastering current owned gear

Do you find yourself too close to the monitor? 24” depth looks great cus it matches the shelves but I feel like it’d be too close…

But is it really better then a Boss gt-1000 core or gx-100?

I’m considering the ToneX ONE to be my drive pedal Swiss Army knife in the studio . It’s limited to only storing 20 ? While recording to my DAW, can I have the USB-C connected so I can swap between 100 captures for example using the software ? And by 100 captures meaning I will capture my analog pedals using tonex capture to build the library .

Kemper is awesome but the UI is just plain terrible. I can't believe the are not updating it. For that reason alone I'm thinking of getting rid of mine.

The ToneX Pedal (the original) needs an upgrade. Minimal, but useful dot matrix color screen (for itemizing) screen to keep the asthetic - Wifi, and BT for OTA upgrades, BT for iOS/Android, Mac/PC connectivity. Get a delay in there, too.

They are pretty good sounding but their wet effects and delays get them into the zone mainly, the EJ tone isn't close, it was sterile and digital hinting on compressed fizz....great unit no less though, particularly for boutique modern sounding recording produced solo tones mainly in my ears via this demo.

Sorry, I'm a Fralin guy. I have both his P-90's and his SSS Blues Specials. His pickups are the top of the top shelf, IMHO.

It's still genuinely an amazing piece of tech - but everyone must account for the price and time consuming process that is hunting down and trying profiles. It's basically the amp version of digging through hundreds of IR's.

I am playing PV 64 pickups in an American Telecaster, through a real 1979 Deluxe Reverb (black-faced) and you are pretty close in your tone with that HX stomp. The real amp is more transparent though than the modeler. PV64s are possibly the best most "real" Tele pickups available.

For home use. Recording etc love my kemper. But it is not a tube amp. No comparison in a live setting for me. Perhaps in a large venue. But in a bar I’ll smoke the modelers / profiler every night with my tube amps. I also own an axe fx. Not a big fan.

LOL! When someone says a pair of pickups are more compressed than another, they don't mean that they sound like if you had a compressor pedal on, it just means that they're gainier, they have less headroom before they breakup! Nothing to do with compression as a processing effect like a compressor, it's more akin to when we talk about an amp being more compressed, it's that it's breaking up and has less clean headroom before breaking up. So if a pair of pickups are too compressed, you wouldn't say you'd turn down the compression on your Kemper, you'd rather just turn down the gain or put an amp profile that is cleaner with bigger headroom.

Space is so clean! Would love a more in depth budget.

Helix is great for effects. I run my hughes and kettner grandmeister tube amp midi and the controls are flawless. The support is great for problems. Tube amp and a Helix works for me. Maybe not for everyone. But still relevant. I will say that these days there are so many great options. Pick what works for you. I choose Helix. What do y'all choose? What a great time to be a guitar pedal. Lol
