What happened in 72 hrs in Tromsø, Norway (travel vlog)
I ended up here unexpectedly and turned 72 hours into finding the best things to do in Tromsø and the surrounding area. I share with you what it's like to visit the northern part of Norway and how amazing it can be to take a spontaneoud detour from an original plan.
This is how I ended up in Tromsø after conquering Finland's highest peak, Halti, as part of my project to reach the highest peak in every European country.

Congrats! Watching this video really puts things into perspective for me. It was the first peak i did with my girlfriend and a friend. My friend was very experienced (he also did toubkal among other peaks). We did it in two days but went from kredarici hut to the top and back in 1h15'! It was such a crazy experience... Full of Adrenaline, we climbed back down when it was getting dark with our head torches. It was crazy thinking back on it. This shows me that even experienced climbers think this mountain is not easy and makes me credit myself for my accomplishment 😅. It motivates me knowing ill try to summit toubkal this summer!!!

  • @Kesint

To understand the name of Kaldfjord, all you need is to look at the map. The inner bend of Kaldfjord and Ersfjord are both almost straight west, and due to the mountains on both sides of Ersfjord, it focuses the ocean wind into a strong west wind that hits the inhabited parts of Kaldfjord hard. And that's how that fjord got its name of Cold fjord (kald=cold). Even during the warmest summer, it was always a cold wind at my grandparents home in Kaldfjord.

We "Vikings" are still alive here in Scandinavia. At least the descendants😊 Myself and my boys are descended from lots of warriors and kings. Rollo, Harald hair-fager, Gorm, Lagertha and others. My ancestors have been fighting and killing each other for millennia. Both sides of Stanford Bridge and Hastings etc. So what I wanted to get across, we still exist, but more peacefully. Don't wake the sleeping bear😁👍

Hello and thanks for a nice clip. First, I just want to give n a little correction of a word. You English speakers say "The fika" while the correct meaning is "to take, or have, a fika". Fika is an abbreviation of "a fika moment" which originally comes from organizing and together, taking a coffee break. But the word comes from having fun with twisting and turning the letters on the word "coffee". Ka-ffe became feka. And in Stockholm slang it became fika. Midsummer is not a festival, but a celebration practiced since long before the 1000 dc. You are absolutely right that it looks like a penis being lowered into the ground. It is a symbol of the fertility god Frey's penis fertilizing mother earth. This is, so that we can harvest again next year. And you talking bout magic feeling when the music and dancing started. That's right too, because his sister. the female fertility god, the goddess Freya, who is also the queen of the fairies unleashed them and their erotic power so that the people would perform the ceremonies correctly. The wreath you tied and have around your hair is made of birch leaves, which itself is a symbol of a rising sap and thereby Frey. If you then tied it during midsummer, you could preserve the magic and power throughout the year. So many of the midsummer wreaths were then hung dried on the wall or around the eaves. When you are standing at 5.31 talking about the midsummer dance, you have a house behind you with a gable roof. I just want to point out that it is one of the oldest houses on Skansen that has been moved there. This house was built in 1477-1478. They are real historic houses and Skansen is the world's oldest outdoor museum. Of course you're right that it's folk costumes from different parts of Sweden, but it's Skansen's folk dance team that dances. The path and the view on Södermalm is called the Montelius-path The people educator Ante

I grant an A for commitment. 'Friluftsliv' to me is not enough to sleep at a hotel and go outdoor, it's when I leave civilization, hike, kayak, ski, climb, ... and sleep outdoor in snow cave, igloo, tent ... having room and bed for the night, that is cheating. I may give a pass for spending full day outdoor and then sleep at an off-grid cabin during a snow storm. When it comes to the 'Kos' concept, it's more of a personal preference on how we enjoy to chill. For me this is strongly connected to cottage life with family. After a full day out, come back to cottage, put on dry cloths, have warm shelter, have dinner, then we socialize, stories, jokes etc. It can also be when having a bonfire by sea during sunset, chilling with friends, having a beer, telling stories, laughing, ...
