Metro Trains Melbourne Siemens Nexas
After a bit of a hiatus on reviews in general, and with some train reviews, I thought it was the right time to jump onboard one of the more unique train types in Melbourne, the Siemens Nexas.
Its amazing to think that early units are about 20 years old now, and with the refresh, they still feel quite modern, and have some excellent accessibility features. Come and join me for the journey!

State of the Plan S2 E2 - Getting ready for uni
มุมมอง 400ปีที่แล้ว
After a few weeks hiatus on the video front, thanks to a busy period with work, I wanted to get back into things with the next State of The Plan video in the series. February is a common time for university students to commence degrees, so I thought it would be fitting for that to be the topic of this month's episode! State of the Plan is a series that I aim to produce monthly, covering key pla...
SEQ rail finally went low floor! Thompsons Mercedes Benz O405NH (Volgren CR221L)
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
After a few weeks break at Christmas time, I thought it would be good to showcase one of the key transport changes since I moved away from Brisbane, a fully wheelchair accessible (timetabled) railbus network. Thompson's now has a large fleet of these ex-Ventura Mercedes Benz O405NH's, which have become staples of railbus operations, with low entry boarding and alighting and a typical city bus i...
State of the Plan S2 Ep1- Welcome Back!
มุมมอง 352ปีที่แล้ว
After what has been quite a long hiatus, I wanted to get back to some more 'actually talking planning' videos, as a bit of a new year's resolution. So, here goes! Today is an intro to the new State of the Plan, which I'm aiming to be a monthly talk show covering key planning facts and ideas, some interesting places and funny sightings that I've come across. There is of course a healthy bit of t...
I'm in my Element here! Busways Custom Denning Element
มุมมอง 3.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After checking out one of Sydney's most interesting high floor buses last week, it was time to turn the tables and have a look at what the new generation of best practice vehicles looks like, the Custom Denning Element. Although it took me way longer than I had hoped to catch one of these, the reward was worth the wait, and the Element is a nice product overall, with a thoughtfully designed int...
Hillsbus Volvo B10MA (Custom Coaches CB50)
มุมมอง 2.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I've been wanting to catch one of these again for quite a while, and back in December, I finally got the chance again, which was pretty exciting, so I thought I would take you along for the ride. High floors are getting rarer and rarer, as the push for a wheelchair accessible fleet strengthens, so I wanted to check it out before I missed my chance. The year that was 2022
มุมมอง 5662 ปีที่แล้ว
It's been a big year, so I thought it would be good to do a little bit of a recap on the year that was. Come and join me for a chat about the year that was, a look back at some of the reviews from 2022 and a look forward to what you might expect to see next year! Kinetic Melbourne BYD D9RA (Volgren Optimus)
มุมมอง 1.8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Having checked out a bunch of Scania/ SAAB products recently, I thought it would be good to have a closer look at a fresh, modern bus to add some variety into the mix. And for that, let's head to Melbourne to check out an electric bus with Kinetic, one of Melbourne's major contract operators. The BYD D9RA in today's review is 3001, an April 2022 build bus, delivered after Kinetic took over the ...
This was pretty much my Parkes local bus! Regional Express SAAB 340B
มุมมอง 9322 ปีที่แล้ว
Having previously lived in Parkes for just over a year, it was finally time to show how I typically travelled to Sydney. In that time, I racked up a fair number of flights onboard REX SAAB 340's, so let's take a look at my first time onboard one, when it was still a novel experience! In fact, I caught the SAAB's much more often than the local bus when I lived in Parkes. For travel between most ...
I stand corrected! State Transit Scania K280UB (Bustech VST)
มุมมอง 1.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Excuse my tardiness, but I thought that you would probably enjoy something from a very iconic operator... Anyway, for the longest time, I was sure this was going to be a Scania K310UB review, but after a long look at the fleet lists, and a bunch of blinking/ rubbing my eyes, I stand corrected. Turns out, a few of the later build Scania K280UB's also had this style of air-con unit, and I very ne...
Busabout Scania L113CRB (Custom Coaches 510)
มุมมอง 1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Home renovating is leading to a review hiatus, but I'm excited to share another transport journey of mine, as a throwback from a weekend in Sydney from December last year. This is the final installment of a big day trip on the Friday, and was a chance to look at what is now quite a rarity for suburban bus travel, an un-airconditioned, high floor bus. This Scania L113CRB is fitted with a relativ...
Park Ridge Transit Scania K310UB (Gemilang)
มุมมอง 1.8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Almost two years after recording this review, I finally decided that it was the right time to take a deep dive into one of the more interesting bus types at Park Ridge Transit, now that Gemilang has gone from being a niche body builder in Australia, to a major market force! While Gemilang still has a relatively small presence in Queensland, they have become a popular option in Sydney and Melbou...
Metro Trains Melbourne Comeng train (EDI refurbishment)
มุมมอง 2.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After a bit of a hiatus in train reviews, I thought it would be good to bookend my Melbourne train journey by taking a look at the oldest trains on the network, the Comeng units. Today's review focuses on those refurbised by EDI, and the Alstom refurbished units will be the subject of a separate video. On the whole, the refresh with the PTV seat fabric does quite a good job of freshening up the...
Orange Buslines Volvo B8RLE (Bustech VST)
มุมมอง 1.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
With some delay, I think it's time to see what public transport in Orange is like, or at least, was like prior to some significant service increases that have been added in the city. I must say, having a useable local bus network again is a nice feeling, and its been about a year too long since I've had that luxury. So, let's check out one of the newer buses operating around Orange, a 2021 buil...

Yarra Trams E2 Class Tram (Bombardier) Review
I love the 60s lol
9:34 I think that because maybe a long while ago people are putting their feet on the seats and they didn’t like it so they fix the seats to go one way so they can’t put their legs on the seat good explanation you earn a new subscriber
The setting in the thumbnail is my local woolies!
Ive never been on a cummins ISL MDI
E2 Class is steam locomotive not a tram 💀
This video aged well, we now have a train to Yanchep, Ellenbrook and High Wycombe via the Airport.
The endeavours are now actually operated by Sydney trains since July 1 2024
for those wondering why talking planning hasn't uploaded for a while he said this on instagram: It's been a while...okay almost a year. So time for an update. I had to make a conscious decision to step back from a few things to get myself back on track. For anyone who's experienced the tired, to burnout to neurodiversity discovery phase, it's... a lot! Hoping to get a few more posts out again - but don't think I'll be coming back to TH-cam unfortunately. Thank you to all of you who have stuck by!
My favourite trains are the indigenous NGR's. my least favourites are the IMU 100/IMU 120s
Hey when are you going to come and get a video of 5801 Bustech VST Scania C250EB at the time of talking about this this is the only electric Scania at the moment
We have a Volvo B5RLEH Volgren CR228L Number 1901 Adelaide's only Volvo Hybrid bus I believe it has a D5K engine with a 12 speed I-Shift but could be wrong
I'm from Adelaide and we have Iveco C260 CB80s with 6 speed Allison Transmission
Cb80s look ugly Too me I caught them so often It looks like a Reggie egg
XDi’s with these motors have won my heart over. I’ll be sad when all are gone
Isn't this a manual cause my public school bus company have 3 of these and are all manuals
Never mind it's auto
They now have express bodied b8rs in newcastle now
That engine is quite worm, it burning oil.
I seen the ice before
One thing I want to mention is that these trains also run on the southern highlands line from Campbelltown to Goulburn.
Is it just me or are these the best sounding buses that cdc owns
Its been scrapped now
Great video and happy birthday to the waratahs to the waratahs❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤
Absolutely love riding them in Sydney ❤ Long live the mighty Ansair Orana 💪❤
I haven’t driven 410 for a while, but I love the B12s. We now have about 17 Volvo eBuses at Transdev and about a dozen mirrorless B8Rs. The Euro 6 Mercs are nice to drive, but the Volvos are better in my opinion.
in perth, the nh buses are the oldest in service!
This is glasshouse country coaches 43, its used on the 905 school run from Glasshouse Christian College to Pumicestone, pretty cool coach
I miss the ICE set used to catch it on Saturdays from Caboolture to Central. So comfortable to ride
2:55 unfortunately this seat pattern is now being phased out for a plain bright blue/bright orange for priority seats.
also at 4:10, Melbourne trains don’t have guards and haven’t since the 90’s. V/Line trains do.
In Sydney traffic, 80kmh very unlikely to be achieved. Sydney traffic is horrible. I left Sydney in 2005 and never looked back.
I think one or 2 got sent to CDC charter sections and only done as charters.
Nice can you please ride aboard a griffith buslines Volvo B8RLE
I think you should have had a ranking for how much do the carriages smell like someone has pissed all over the floors and walls
Thanks for this video! I’m planning a trip from Woolloongabba to Broadbeach North next week. Very helpful!
Hell yeah brother.
I remember this type of renault bus in service in sydney. The voith 3 speed was rather tall gearing, mostly 1st speed on torque converter before lock up in sydney traffic, more 2nd and 3rd gears lockup here in this video, nice hydraulic retard sound, kinda sounds like an electric bus on regen. Jm
There's nothing worse then getting an IMU 100 on the Sunshine Coast line
Can you do XPTs and Xplorers next?
If you visit Brisbane again you should review the b7rle volgren Optimus
I'll Miss These When They're Fully Gone 😭. In Winter These Were The Best Buses 😃. I Love My Buses In Canberra 😃. I've All Ways Loved Buses,Trucks,Ect Since I Was Little 😃
Hi, I have a friend who is OBSESSED with trains. He loves going on the Springfield Central line
Can you please do a review on a Queensland Rail train WITH graffiti on the outside, it doesnt matter if it is EMU, SMU, IMU, or NGR, but it needs to have graffiti on the outside
Omg what microphone did you use to record that train at the start
This very bus (or its twin) used to be my school bus back in the 90s! These two Volvos were the first low floor buses in Bundy, acquired at the beginning of 1998. One was used on the Bargara run. Just imagine, 50 odd sweaty school kids in the middle of summer. Poor driver. His name was Henry and he seemed to always score the new buses. Before these, it was the first of the two Scania L113CRLs and a year later in 1999 the first of the two Scania L94UBs that you also reviewed. I still remember that new bus smell. We all thought they were so much better than the Domino GM6V71s they replaced. Some advances were an auto gearbox, indicators that you didn’t have to turn off manually, electric wipers that worked as opposed to the mental compressed air ones, FM radio so we could actually listen to decent music and the seats had a kind of velour material. Not sure when it got changed to the red vinyl. Back then Duffy also owned a handful of Denning long distance coaches which sometimes substituted on the school runs while the city buses were out for maintenance. The air con in those coaches was a godsend. A real treat, then after a couple of days it was back to sweating.
Love how you used the term “old school”. Makes me feel so old! These two Scanias were acquired in early 1999 and looked badass compared to the Leyland Leopards and Dominos that Duffys had back then. They were the second pair of low floor buses, after the two Volvos acquired a year earlier. This one was my school bus in year 12 and the seats were all velour back then. A blue colour. AFAIK they remain in the fleet and I believe are the last remaining non AC buses in that company, which is no longer Duffy’s as it was sold to Kinetic in 2022. You mentioned the Brisbane buses. I still remember when it was a really rare treat to score an air conditioned bus (Volvo and later Scania) in Brissie, back in the first few years of this century. Doesn’t feel all that long ago.
Their toaster buses they look like little toasters on the road trust me they really don’t look very good at all I reckon bus Queensland should be all Volgren Fleets they do have Volvo B7RLE volgren cr228ls custom CB 80s I don’t like custom CB80s the volgren Optimus is pretty neat very good design to them
CB60 Evo2s Are really rare in Queensland I’m familiar with the ones here in Sydney. There are CB60 evo2s in Ipswich. But they really don’t look so nice at all. I know their Scanias I think they’re getting old now and I’ve seen some unusual ones at the Redbank Depot
I was at cultural Centre when A B12BLEA Volgren Cr228l turned up. I was like what was that doing here in Brisbane? It’s a Sydney bus. I think I’ve seen it before it broke down At Underwood, a mechanic had a come down and fix it so yeah, this is a Sydney Logan has two of these with Volgren and CB60 bodies I might be familiar with the ones in Sydney
Perth have these two
Transperth have these as well
I heard a howl definitely ZF
nah its voith
Where was this filmed?
The wonderful bus of Singapore... Sadly the last O405G got scrapped in 2020, and still only one preserved at a private area of Woodlands Bus Park. Sad life
