Customer brought this in for some last minute Service before he stores it for the season with a perceived exhaust leak on it, anyways it is turns out it’s got a bad Engine in here so we’re gonna get to work on that.

We have a 2000 Sea-Doo challenger 1800 with a six cylinder mercury 240 EFI and the customer originally brought it in with trouble, it wouldn’t get on a plane or run up in RPM’s, you just give it gas and then it would die out, would cut back in power all at once, and there it is we keep doing that so we got that problem fixed but then another one is appeared which is even more confounding.

So this thing only runs to 5000 RPMs, we have replaced the carburetor with a brand new Mikuni we have replaced the intake manifold we have pulled the raves check those we tried another computer because I had a spare one and we bypass the fuel selector valve and went directly from the Carburetor to the fuel tank bypass in the fuel filter also. The customers brought in the jet boat because it was only doing about half throttle and running up to about 5000 RPMs. After finding a set of fouled, spark plugs, and a fault code for the TPS on the PTO cylinder, and it was not able to clear it. Turns out it didn’t seem to matter the jet boat id running fine .

Pretty sure it's not a fuel issue but an ignition issue, had a ski doing the same thing and it ran perfectly with a new cdi

Hey. Great video. I have a 1996 yamamha wave raider 1100 and the impeller does NOT have a machined area to put a wrench on for removal. It is smooth. Looks like there may be teeth on the inside of impeller. Is there a tool to slide into inside of impeller to remove? Everywhere I look the impeller has the machined area to put wrench on. I have a 2002 version of this ski but can’t get it to start it’s seconds from Turing on but won’t quiet make it I’ve changed fuses and spark plugs got a new battery but at a dead any , any suggestions one where to start next ?

@@5StarPWC no it’s a di model I fixed the issue I had a clogged fuel filter and fuel lines no fuel was getting to the engine
Is it easy to separate these batteries into 3 separate 8s (24v system) battery?
If you don't know and can't fix it, makes for a stupid video wasting time.

in one of your very helpful videos on a 720 you mention grease to swell the O rings in the top end. Is there any one that is better than others? Silicone, synthetic etc.. Thanks
I normally just use automotive grease.

I just used this technique on a yamaha jet boat and I think it really is the best method. Fast and effective.

The same thing happened to me, I thought it was the muffler tube that was broken and I bought a welded one but it kept doing the same thing like it accelerates but it has no power and it accelerates in pauses I think that's what you say in the video we'll go over it myself I was close to it to take it to the workshop and lose a lot of money thank you my friend

no that won't make them go bad, but if yours is leaking its bad.
Just curious did you get your voltage up? I have a 16s lithium ion battery running at 65v on my victron system this sounded like you had the battery set for a lifepo4 battery charging my multiplus ii charges up to 64v and my victron 150/70 mppt takes it to 65v on solar I did buy the programming cable for victron that lets you get into charging parameters
65v is basically maxed right? added a charger i picked up, I did a video on it, following this one. I would like to change the charging parameters myself, what's the cable all about?

Hey! I have an 03 RxDi with the same symptoms. I took out the reeds and none of them were broken and seemed to seal good, but they were very dirty and oily so I cleaned them up really good with MAF sensor cleaner. I haven't had a chance to test it yet to see if that was the issue or not. Any other thoughts as to what may be causing this issue if it's not that?

@kunaly.5831 I did. Turned out one of the brand new spark plugs broke. Somehow the inner ceramic came loose and was sliding down and completely blocking the spark. Super weird but goes to show to always check the basics first.
@@jondirks4375I just bought an 03 as well same exact issues as the video. Haven’t gotten the chance to work on it yet but I also have knew plugs so I’m going to check that out as well!
what is welding rod use
I wouldn't use anywhere near that much rtv. It gets in the engine and messes up things. If anything, I coat the gaskets in grease. If you ever need to take the engine apart again, the gaskets come right off.
No dude, it won't hurt, it will spit that soft RTV right out, at worst it will get on an electrode on the spark plug.
Why is welding needed? Was the size smaller?
What happens is because the pins have been removed before they can be a tiny bit looser than they should be, so I weld them to keep them from twisting accidently. If you use that 660 loctite it's not necessary though. Only you better have it trued very fast cause the stuff hardens quickly.

When I get my cranks done I pay $1000. For what you just did in an hour with $50 worth of bearings and new connecting rods. Do you build stroker kits for skidoos? I have a triple 700, 809 and 780. Obviously the 700 and 809 are nikasil plated so they’d need to be sleeved or bored and repeated . 780 isn’t but has shorter rods the 809 I believe.

Aftermarket kits... no bueno! The diaphragm material is meant to be light (referencing OEM). Heavier diaphragms will essentially alter the pop-off pressure because it requires more manifold pressure to suck the diaphragm inward.
when you have a series of pistons, so a crankshaft with a few different loabs and wrist pins, if the journals are using actually bearings, like in a multiple cylinder motorcycle engine... if the wrist pins are just round cylinders and pressed into place, how does everything stay aligned and indexed correctly?
They are pressed together. The outside of the bearing spins. The inside doesn't. If I understand your question
