- Finish completion of my solar system. It has 3000 W of solar panels on the roof and all Victron components. Also using Samsung brand new old stock batteries purchase from batteryhookup.com that I had to disassemble and a put in a different configuration so I was able to use them in this application..
I have a full crate with the same Samsung SDI batteries Ive been trying to sell for the longest because I couldn't find any use for it. Now watching this video it gave me a purpose. Thanks!
They've worked good for me.
I have life po4 different types. Ltos as well and honestly those being some of my favorite ones
Life po4 are heavy for RVs
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful RV!
Nice set up! Those are good battery cells. Samsung sdi prismatic 4.2v 72ah. Lighter than life po4 cells. With those victron no need for bms but it’s safer!! Beautiful Rv!! I have those batteries as well
Yeah - I think you’re right I didn’t need them BMS’s but it was my first system so I’m learning. I purchased one of battery hook ups DC charges and I can set it to take these batteries up to the exact amount I want. You say these are 72 AH - 4.2 cells?
My mistake, they are 68ah and that’s 4.2 fully charged. Resting voltage at 3.7 v per cell
Dude! You need to line those solar panels up! Put at least 4 in series. Check the Maximum PV voltage IN on your Victron Controllers, and try to get it up there. ( but don’t go over ). With such fine equipment you should be running 150 volts, but by all means- read the owners manual. Mine says minimum 90 volts, and the inverter does not even come on until it hits that.
thanks for the recommendation
Just curious did you get your voltage up? I have a 16s lithium ion battery running at 65v on my victron system this sounded like you had the battery set for a lifepo4 battery charging my multiplus ii charges up to 64v and my victron 150/70 mppt takes it to 65v on solar I did buy the programming cable for victron that lets you get into charging parameters
65v is basically maxed right? added a charger i picked up, I did a video on it, following this one. I would like to change the charging parameters myself, what's the cable all about?
@5StarPWC And yes 65v is max system voltage for victron 48v multiplus ii
You're definitely missing out on a lot of capacity not being able to charge them up to their full voltage.
How did the new charger work that you got?
Were you you able to get a full 3 days out of them afterwards?
I added a charger that takes them up to 64.3 v check the next video
