Personally I wouldn't be so keen on obstructing that single drainage hole for something like an olive tree, which generally detest damp roots. The jury's out on how useful crocks actually are in general. For similar reasons I prefer to increase the pot size bit-by-bit, rather than jumping to something significantly bigger. Some good tips otherwise.

We have 2 lovely ones in pots that gave an amazing show ,just a shame they only flower for a month ,once the flowers died off the plant has now got lots of new stems growing out ,what do you recommend i do ? This is all new to me ,thanks

Hello @crazycressy7986 - thank you for watching our video and for your question 💚 if your plants are getting too big for their pots you may want to pot them on into bigger pots with ericaceous growing media but if not just keep them watered and carry on what you are doing as you are obviously doing the right thing in getting a lovely show 😊 Have a great rest of the week All the best Melanie and John 🌸

I live in Somerset California!! I bought seeds for Scabius Giganticus, and and repotting then in 1 gallons. They are lanky, and not sure if I need to stake while they are young? I can’t plant in ground due to gophers, but live in Sierra Foothills (gold mining area) and nestle the pots in native ground cover, vinca major. Any tips?

Thank you for watching and for your question 💚 Apologies for the delay replying but we have been away - if your seedlings are at risk of wind then it won’t do any harm staking them and it sounds a lovely scene being nestled amongst Vinca major 🤩 I have also just spotted the typo in our video title so will remedy that pronto! @JohnHorseyHorticulture 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hello @chrismacleod-wb7ox Thank you for watching and for your question - at 7 foot in diameter the heather is too big to move and it’s probably better to plant new ones in the space you want them to be as they won’t take too long to establish Have a great week All the best Melanie and John 🌸
