🪴Sometimes it's confusing as to which potting compost is right for your current potting jobs - in this video John gives a bit of background before going on to explain different types of potting compost to help you make a more informed decision 🪴
Very topical and interesting, thanks John and Melanie. I’ve been using peat free for some time now and currently have some that is loam based, the other I think is coir based, both with added John Innes. Do some plants / veggies prefer one or the other or can I use them in the same situations? Many thanks, Sue
Hi John, I’m plagued with little black flys that seem to be breading in the house plant soil. Any advice how to get rid of them. Sticky fly paper on sticks near my plant pots seem to help but it’s unsightly 😱
Hello Bob from Norfolk - great to hear from you and Norfolk is a lovely county 😊 You probably have sciarid flies which thrive in damp growing media so changing the compost will help or letting it dry out between waterings too also watering your plant from below will help as well Have a great rest of the week All the best John and Melanie 🌸
