Tbf I can see why this was deleted. It's all exposition that we get elsewhere much more naturally. That and it makes Zira seem a little more sympathetic than they probably wanted. A shame to waste such beautiful animation though!

This really proves that Kopa was real, as Vitani says Simba’s NEW cub.

I will point out that there already was a much earlier scene voiced that had Kovu and Zira confirm that Scar wasn't his father. So the old deleted scene didn't need to cover that Scar and Kovu weren't related. However, with the earlier conversation with Kovu & Zira cut, they needed to change this scene to confirm that Kovu was not biologically Scar's.

The ending of this scene almost looks like a warped parallel of Mufasa showing Simba the kingdom from Pride Rock in the first film, especially with the music

I actually like that they included but made all this exposition more subtle in the final film!

They should have added some of this in. It provides more explanation for Zira's motives. In the released version, she doesn't really specify her relationship to Scar, leaving her motives a little unclear. This shows she's a grief-stricken widow who wants revenge for the death of her beloved partner.

If you listen closely to the part where Zira hold Nuka’s head before he dies he says “Didn’t I?” They must’ve kept that in by accident.

Who in the Circle of Life fathered Zira's cubs? Bit of a plot hole, don't you think? And confusing in this particular sequence, what with Zira mooning over Scar as if he was her children's father.

Way to ruin the original. Take all metaphors literally and base a plot around pagan spiritual communication and ruling animals the human way. Yeah, let's add time travelers to the Phantom of the Opera, let's put transformers into Kill the Mockingbird. This way we'll earn 5% more money. Good god... Why not give magic powers to cubs... wait, wait! Lion Guard did that, didn't they? 100 years of evolution to jump the sharks. No dignity, eh, Disney?

This was so cool! And it confirms Scar ISN'T Kovu's father, like everyone keeps saying, even though that was never the case. But I can kind of see why they didn't use this since they wanted to keep Kovu and Kiara the same age. Still, they could've changed to him being a somewhat newborn. Maybe a few days or a week older than Kiara, depending on how long it was between Simba returning to the Pridelands and Kiara being born.

They should of put this in the movie we were robbed 😂

Wow, this is so awkward and clunky. There's some characterization I wish they'd found a way to incorporate in a different way like that scene showing Kovu not killing the bug, but I can completely understand the decision to edit this more hamfisted version.

As a child I 100% thought Kovu and Kiara were related.💀 They should have kept this in. Also, it adds more perspective into Zira's mind, and the Outsider's as a whole.

I know this was obviously done years before the prequel but with the new plot revealed for Mufasa, Zirs is actually in the right here

Yea, I see why they removed it, its just info dump and the dialogues dont feel that natural because of that xd

Obviously, I think "Frozen 3: Worlds United" would be like "The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride" because of the scene I watched. It would draw inspiration for one of my own concept scenes.

I like how in this workprint they've used Hans Zimmer's musical score from The 1st Lion King movie.

Honestly this should have made it into the final product, the finished film is good but this would still be an improvement

I know Zira's isn't the best of the mothers, but I really liked the shot where her cubs run behind her. They look more like a family.
