#6 We Purchased a Cheap Home in Abruzzo ITALY. DIY Renovation Project in ITALY
Today we are back at the house we bought in Abruzzo Italy for Only 19K
Welcome to our new channel. This will be a series featuring our new adventure.
The story and renovation of a really cheap home we bought in the beautiful region of Abruzzo ITALY for ONLY €19K
Let's be honest, you can't even get a bathroom renovated for that much money in Australia, yet we found an Italian Home for Sale for less than €20K.
Truth be told, this house will need a lot of renovation works to make of it a home. The bones are great, so at least we can have a good start.
Some work will be for sure DIY as much as we can to keep it on a low budget. We do not want to over capitalise!
It is a stone home in a gorgeous historical village in Abruzzo, which is thousands of years old! The house itself might be a few hundred years old.
We can't wait to start revealing patiently the stories and truths of our inexpensive Italian Stone House.
Our idea is to show you every step of the way. The progress, the frustration, the achievements and the cost... So that you can see for yourselves if a Cheap Italian Home is an option as your Italian Dream Home.
Welcome on board!

    You guys are dog lovers, fantastic! I have 4 dogs, 2 chihuahuas, and two labrador retrievers. When I make my move to Italy, I plan on bringing 3 of them. The oldest Labrador is staying in the states. He’s really my dad’s dog but he’s 12 so I don’t know if he would survive the trip.

    I trust you have power and running water in your €19,000 home that you are renovating? I think you were on the right track removing the old plaster from the walls. I would test the vaulted ceilings to expose the brick. If it looks good, I would hammer off the paint. It will be cheaper than paying someone to do the work.

    So glad I found your other channel. Looking forward to seeing the finish product. This house confuses me. Will there be a connecting door inside so you don’t have to go outside to enter the rest of your house? Strange having an apartment in the middle. Have a great day.

    The view of the mountains behind your house has a huge amount of forested area, normally you see much more open areas. Your views look like an old forest, it makes it more private as well.👍

    Loved the toilet dance,😂. Your house without a garden has much more heavy duty gardening tools needed than the other garden. It's amazing how the ivy get in everything.👍

    It might be easier for you to take the waterlines underneath the house in the wine cellar, then come back up through the floor instead of digging your floor up

    You guys have such a great attitude. This plumbing situation is certainly taking time and patience but I love the way that you are approaching it by conceding that you may have to sacrifice the tiles and thinking to the positives of changing the floor to something more modern. I am finding these renovation blogs very interesting and entertaining. I wish I had your patience and positivity. Hope you work it all out soon so that you don't have to keep lugging water from home and up all the stairs.

    You & your husband have quiet a bit of work ahead of you but it mainly seems to be the electrical & water that are the main issues. Just take it slow & steady and you will have a very nice home in the future. Kathy USA 🇺🇸

    Micia micia micia, bella micia❤your so lucky Fiorella the cat whisperer. Invest in a good brand hammer drill, and some masonry hole saw bits, you won’t be sorry. You can always dig for the pipes around the border of the room and create a new feature border to cover where you dug up those tiles, I’m sure it’ll look amazing when you finish anyway. 💖 Shell🇦🇺

  • @elsienorback7689
    @elsienorback7689 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Could you go into the basement and see if there is any signs of water pipes from the ceiling down there? It’s crazy that there is no system to identify where the plumbing and electrical lines are located.

  • @elsienorback7689
    @elsienorback7689 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wow, you guys might have to dig up the street to hook up the water and electricity. It’s crazy that it’s a mystery where the old water and electric lines are located. These houses are definitely built differently than standardized homes in America. Meaning they need an electrician and plumber to investigate it while building to sign it off to make sure it’s done up to standard. That’s good and bad. It’s good that house builders follow a high standard but bad because it’s another expense.

    Where is that barking tiny neighborhood dog that always greets you when you arrive?? I hope you guys have a door directly into the basement. otherwise how did they get all the wine barrels thru the hole in the floor? When installing drains or feed lines you should refer to them as "pipes", tubes sounds like something an HVAC Technician or engineer might say about a rocket or peice of mechanical equipment. I enjoy your videos they are honest and show the hard reality of fixing old stone homes.
