This is probably best for edible cake decoration, and not a clay to use for art. I might try it for cakes!

Thank you for sharing,I’ve made the clay followed your receipt,but I didn’t have shorting so I used regular vegetable cooking oil instead,the clay was no shrink definitely,but super sticky,I put a lot rice flour to knete it but didn’t work,only could use a lot corn starch to unstick it while I rolled it thin.is it because of I didn’t use shortening?or can I use less glutinous rice flour,but rice flour instead? PS I need the clay to make flowers so it has to be think and nonstick 😢

I’ve tried today exactly same formula but failed,the clay can’t be pulled apart as noodle(water drop sharp ),it just like rice flour mix with water,I used CMCPowder .I’m not sure what was wrong 😢

Could you please do a test about the non-shrink ?like same size clay (one with this formula one with PVA )make same shape and see how they end,I’m curious about this but I don’t have ingredients to try..

Very nice 👍 I think if it's too soft try warming it up in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds then knead it and repeat until perfect

You’re so talented! Can I please ask what was the powder ingredient from the pot? I can get both flours, shortening and possibly corn syrup but probably glucose. I just am unsure of the other information. I’d love to try this recipe for art with children. They get so disappointed when their models crack. I will look forward to hearing from you.
