- Those days are over..!?
I've liked the DSSCTM remake since 1986, except for that typical '80s drum machine they had to use back then because of Stewart's injury.
Here we are, almost 40 years later, and those annoying beats have been ripped out and completely replaced. Finally! Every beat you hear now is absolutely Stewart-struck! I also rearranged the rest of the song considerably, in an attempt to make the structure more subtle and to do better justice to Sting's beautiful vocals and Andy's guitar lines.
The video has been rearranged from snippets found here and there on the internet, but I've added and tweaked quite a bit to make it fit this extended mix. As always, I'm very curious to read what you think of "Don't Stand So Close To Me 2024". So please let me know!
Ultimately, this is all for a greater purpose. So if our protagonists will be watching and listening to this (and I know by now that Sting does sometimes): come on guys, the years are seriously starting to count, so surprise the world, break the myth of The Police as a closed legend, and do what many do not expect, but what many worldwide are really waiting for: rearrange a few recent songs, give each other some space, and there you have it: THAT DAMN SIXTH POLICE ALBUM!
With love, FYYC!
I look back on this with a bit of sadness. I grew up with this band. I saw them for the first time in 1979 and never missed a tour going forward. I met them all backstage in 84. Lastly at the Conspiracy of Hope Tour at Giants Stadium. When this was "new" it was a sliver of hope of them getting back together. It was not meant to be. The song itself is it's own ominous ending. To me anyway. The hope that never came to pass. 20 years we had to wait. It was a special time, now forever locked in history. I am very blessed and thankful to have lived it.
Steve! It's not over yet, nor for you nor for them!!! 🤣
And I'm sure: there's still a chance on that 6th album, beware!
I have the same feeling, when I listen this version part of my life is gone, THE POLICE is in my head. No any band like them period, secula seculorum. Sting, Andy , Stewart .one more album , the time is coming.🎶🥁🎸🎶🥁🎸🎶🥁🚔🚔🚔
@@jorgepina7451If they want they can do it! Please!
The drumming makes it . Awesome stuff again thank you
Here we go again... Americans trying to take all the credit for the only American band member. Gordon Sumner wrote nearly all the songs in The Police... and now has a great solo career. Tell, why do Yanks always think they are the best at everything for? Can somebody explain American ignorance to me? Honest question and I expect honest answers. There are three great talents in the trio, not one.
Love and peace, Alex! ✌️❤️💙💚
On Stings last release I commented that I always wonder what it would sound like if Andy was on guitar and Stewart on drums. He replied to my comment, grateful for the fans that have followed him throughout his career.
...And was that a satisfactory answer or an evasive one, Murray 🤔...?
@@fyyc very satisfactory.
Young Teacher it's time to synchronise the crowd's 6th fantasy
One of your best versions yet!!
Llevo 40 años escuchando esa bateria embrujadora y me sigue estremeciendo...
Agree with you. This is exactly the band should have done before the reunion tour. Fantastic job. I was waiting for this. Without this horrible drum machine. If you have the patience to do De do 86 ! Thank you.
❤ 👍 Wow my friend, mesmerizing this one! Also video wise. Beautiful beginning and nice extension on 5:50 and 6:30. Totally in love! 💛💙❤️👌
I prefer this to the original. I want to thank you because you are filling the void of that damn sixth album. They continue to play Police separately and honestly none of our Tre Ragazzi maintain the original characteristics of the various pieces. You yes! Thank you. I remember beer or aperitif paid for in Rome whenever you want.
Grazie, Maurizio! You're right, but let's look at it in a positive way, because Sting is touring right now for the first time with an old school three-piece band again: that's going in the right direction! 😂😜
Another masterpiece. So good. Kind regards Fred van Engelen
OMG I clicked faster than I could read the caption! Thank you :)
You made justice to Stewarts broken collar bone.
OMG FYYC!!!!! An AMAZING job with this, and I'm sure to be pulled over by the cops for sure, when cranking this!!!! What a wonderful Father's Day gift!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!! Much love from Pittsburgh to you!!!!!
Hey @fyyc, I missed this one when you released it, and now that I'm in Asturias, Spain, the land of fabada and sidra, well, you earned both in the one!!! Amazing amazing job!!! Totally in love with your work, and yes, Sting, guys, GIVE US THAT DAMN 6TH!!!
@@juanretuerto8203 Gracias, amigo! 👍👋
Fantastic Music vid from this tune from The Police 🎶 👀👍 thanks for this share
I bet money that whether or not a 6th album & tour happens that Sting knows it is his ace in the hole if he decides to play it.From seeing him in Vegas I could tell he enjoys performing immensely. Maybe a string of Police shows at Caesars Palace? I know that U2 didn't have a great run in Vegas but I believe the Police could Phil any venue they deem worthy. My 2 cents. Thanks for the drum track Stew.
Wow! I'm watching now for the first time...quite innovative!! You even put the girls for them!! 😂 And much better drumming!! Enjoyable!! Thanks pal!
Qui ci avevo proprio sperato... Ma che cantata ci si può ancora e sempre fare, ottimo ragazzi❤❤❤❤❤
Excelente trabajo 👏 👍
awesome well done love it
Incredible mixes ❤❤❤❤

VERSIÓN ...LO MÁXIMO , ESPECTACULAR ..LIKE ..!!!
And here I was thinking, "Wow! This sounds a lot better than I remember it." Then, I read your blurb. Thank you for replacing the drum machine! This sounds so much better than I remember it.
Wow thanks FYYC for another excellent Derangementos d'Amour - with actual bashed drums !
Apologies for late listening, l normally catch your releases straight away ; l had no note from YT despite all bells & whistles being lit up, it's happened before - but l have the Do do do da da da video to listen to now ! 😊
From someone who really disliked the '86 version of this song when it was released, I thank you for making it at least palatable. 😂
Outstanding job.
Love it!!!
Great mix!!!!
Super
This is better than the 86 version..
🙂🙏🙏🙏

Yes, 6th album mates!
Not sure about this take on dont stand 86 only because i hated the original release ( still do ) . I feel the only comment i can make is you can't polish a turd .
Good effort as always , keep up the good work .
Ha, ha, what about likeable turds?
Omg. Is this real???🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
remember that the sixth Police album is actually Andy Summers's "XYZ"
reasonable tunes, but cringeworthy vocals!
@@fyyc right? Also, sequenced drums do not help. But there's material to be recycled with proper musicians. Why did he never try to rerecord it?
@@radiozelaza Totally agree! With Stewart on drums and Sting singing, some little xyz gems could be born...😆👍
One world / not three... Should be your next master piece please..
Thanks again, ❤❤❤
Probably my first ever CD single! Red cover promo. CD was still new back in those days. Rubbish format compared to vinyl
die Promo mit dem aufklappbaren Pappcover habe ich auch noch 😅👍
I’m assuming since you found the drum tracks you also know who killed JFK. Amazing. 🤘🎅🏼
@@chrisbaber4978 Of course. Thx! 🙏
Notice Stewart never looks at the camera…probably because he wanted to kick Sting’s ASS!
FYTC... What other bands do you listen to. 😅
Lots!
@@fyyc list your top three...
Peccato che nell' 86 Stewart abbia perduto i master delle parti di batteria per la canzone, sarebbe stata ancora più bella.
Voices in my head drumtrack.
😑
@@hendrik_smock 10 points for your excellent ears, Hendrik👍👌! But that's the easy recognisable one and covers less than half of it... The one million dollar question is therefore: which is the other used drumtrack... 🤔?
Ah! between, the drum's and all. The theme is Terrible. The Police 🎭📀🎵🎶
