I pedaled 40 miles for this?? is a decent doughnut too much to ask for?
Where are the proper doughnuts these days? Everything is too fancy, too many toppings, too elaborate. Can't a guy get a frikkin normal standard doughnut??

Enduro Maxhit Bearings, too good to be true?
Looks a good excuse to get out and ride your bike. I feel that 40 miles probably makes up for a sugary treat...
Great ride and video, is there anywhere I can download the route please
Sure, this should work www.komoot.com/tour/1942407222?ref=aso&share_token=aN6GLuOAEcVdPwE7U5DrEgvh3G5273eBvs4g1qFrmBwCjmUpqT
Some of my local routes, very slippy towpaths this time of year, I came off last week, luckily no one witnessed it 🤣 can’t believe you didn’t pick up a sausage roll with the donut
No sausage rolls were harmed during this ride 😆
Also , round beams don't have any cut off, so they'll be glaring oncoming no matter the setting or down angle
You over paid for two round beams I can give you better alternatives for less
kislux versace bag is so cute
I’ve ordered a copy with longer stubby bits which should be more comfortable and act more like hoods. I’m not sure how I’m going to bar tape everything yet. Do I wrap over my components? I’ve seen people wrap the whole bars then bolt on their parts over the bar tape. Should be fun.
I can't clip in at all since I broke my ankle and it is now frozen. I would surely die if I tried to twist to clip out. I ride flats on my XC MTB and my GB and can honestly say I have never slipped off the peddle, even after 2 Seasons of races, over 100,' of climbing and thousands of miles.
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable luxrul bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
Looks like a beautiful ride, and what a cloudscape. Cheered me up on a wet gray day
Cheers for the lovely comment 👌
Napton Village Stores - always a good stop off 👍
That a GRX 812GS or SGS derailleur? Long cage?
Great route, hopefully I will give it a go in the next few weeks but I won’t be trying that detour up the muddy hill 😂
It might just be rideable ATM but not for much longer! Thanks for watching 👌
Do you have a gpx file I can download to try that route 👍
Another lovely route 👍
I did this back in the summer, it's a lovely ride. You can miss out a bit of road if you follow the Greenway all the way to the Fosse, meeting 3 different gate openers, then cross the road and take the rocky path into the wood which after 50 metres turns into the Lias Line. Eventually HS2 will build a bridge over the Fosse and NCN41 will be re-routed over that. Your cheese opportunity was at the Village Stores in Bishops Itchington - also good coffee and cake.
A few of my local routes , would recommend following the Lias line to draycote and loop around reservoir before heading around some of the old railways in Rugby.
As a fellow 'Lost Lanes' fan...I've subscribed to your channel. As a fellow cycling TH-camr...I made sure also to give this a like 😉. I was wondering as I watched, just how much the route has changed since Jack originally rode it due to the HS2 debacle 🤔. Keep the Lost Lanes videos coming 🚴👍
10 points for no cheese 👍
I've made up for it since
Can you tell me what helmet you are using in the video
Hi, it's an original mask protone
Do they also work to keep the bike clean? Or is it only to keep dirt off of yourself?
Nope just your ass and back. I can cope with muddy legs and bike but a gritty wet crack makes for a miserable ride
do these fit on aero bars?
kislux I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
Every woman has a princess dream in her heart, and luxrul gives this dream a realistic touch without making her bank account cry.
Mmm love the sound of gravel popcorn. 😂 Where do you find your group events? Or is it just a matter of following as many groups as you can?
The last time a rode up The Beacon I was on my Dawes Zipper (Raleigh Chopper copy) with a three speed Sturmey Archer for gears. I must do it again sometime soon. In fairness it was 40+ years ago!
🤣 it's probably lower now due to erosion
I notice you had to forgo your head unit to fit the light. I've bought a few Exposure lights over the years and they are superb but mounting can be a challenge if you are using a bikepacking setup or bar bags. Carbon bars usually mean you have limited options on the tops and the Garmin will partially block the beam. I'd like to see a solid fork crown mount option similar to that of Supernova. Exposure's customer service is incredible. My old Strada RS had taken a beating and was out of warranty but they serviced it and put the repaired old internals in a new gun metal case for a small fee and it is good as new again. I don't mind paying a bit extra initially when I can prolong the life of a product like this.
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
It's fine. Rock up with some cups and hot beverages to go with those digestives and you're crossing the line, though. Ha!
I recently got a fake corner bar from good ol china and I don't completely agree with your statement of not finding a comfortable hood hand position. Although I have to mention that the bike is not built yet, I can tell that you can get a very good hand position if you move all you levers downwards. I have normal hands, but if you have very big ones, then you might need to add a small mod that I know from my motorcycle, there are bar ends that you can put into the end of the "hoods" to increase their size. I won't do that, but it was an idea, when I brainstormed how to place the levers.
I thought the same. I’m a roadie but tinkering with retro MTB’s and you’re right, you just need to fix the levers lower and you’ll get used to it.
@@adammillsindustries. Bike is still not built, but I worked a bit on the bar. I actually installed aluminium extenders to get a "full hand" position on top. I was not completely satisfied with the levers, because I want to have full braking access while being in the "hoods", because my hands will be here, when I am riding fast. So I decided to mount the levers below the top tube and upside down. Now I can easily access the brakes with my small fingers and it is super comfy. I can still get "okayish" access to them from the drop hand position.
Generally, I like the video (even though I don’t ride a gravel bike myself). But I now understand why riders with TH-cam channels tend to ride bikes with quiet hubs!
I'm just about to service it so it may get quieter.....saves ringing my bell though 😉
@@ukgravelco I personally like a loud hub in real life. My comment is only about how it comes across on the camera mic. I was trying to give some useful channel feedback.
It’s pronounced Far a. As in far away and “uh”. I love mine. It’s superb. Customer service from Fara could be better but the bike is brilliant. Mine was reduced from £3500 to £2500 but I had to pay £100 postage from Norway. Running mine on Goodyear connectors 40mm on 700c rims. I use it for bike packing and it’s a dream! 1 gripe, internal storage is a gimmick. The cover is really fiddly.
Ah cheers for the elocution lesson, shame about the customer service 😢
Your hub sounds a bit like a v8
I love the lost lanes routes, not tried this one so nice to have a preview.
I think a roll is a cob in Leicestershire 😂
However just been informed that's a crusty roll
I currently have a 10 speed 11-46 setup for my gravel (650b) and I'm planning for an upgrade to 11 speed Shimano Deore M5100 (11-42) or (11-51). Which of the two gear ratios is better? I ride 20kms daily on rugged asphalt and on weekends I do uphill. I really want to try this one on your vid, im on 38t also.
kislux I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
Fantastic interview. An hour well spent
Ah, cheers. Hoping to do some more this autumn
what a result i rode to halfords to buy myself a spare tube an pump cos i hate being stuck when it pops so always prepare
Sound advice dude 👌
Just in the knob 😂
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
I have this bike with the Rudy fork. The fork is adjustable, and it does have a lockout switch on the top of the right fork leg.
This one definitely hasn't, it's the base model though
Hi mate, I've got the three bike rack too - great design and great quality
Yes, it's really good. Going to get a 2 bike version I think
I've got the 2-bike version & the mounting system. Use both, depending on the need. Very pleased with them. Lovely company to deal with. 😁
Oops, one should expect a super expensive bike light should have a good attachment system and not ending up lost while biking...
I think in this case the person using it should have checked he'd attached it properly 🤦
What size is it? I’m thinking of getting one, they are on a great sale right now. The geometry is curious though, I’m 6’1 so a large maybe but when I see the reach and effective top tube, I start to wonder…
I'm 6ft and this was a large, a medium felt too low at the front so using the drops would have felt uncomfortable. I'm not the most flexible back wise though
@@ukgravelco thanks!
@@ukgravelco That's interesting... i'm 6'1" and also ride a GT Grade in size L (the Comp model with the aluminum frame, not Carbon). As far as I know the geometry of the Carbon and Comp is nearly identical, but your reach looks so much shorter than mine. You look quite upright compared to me. Did you make any modifications or adjustments to the bike to change your position?
I am also looking at one given the sale prices... I'm 5'11 so I think medium is probably the better option...
@@MarmiteFerret I got the large and it feels fine. I swapped the stem out for one 70mm 30 degree. Feels great. Medium might be better but hard to say. If you look at geometry the jump from medium to large is pretty significant.
Bet he didn't take it away though, made a video, pulled a face & left
Uk is now iraq. Get used to it. People voted for it lol.
It's been like that since way before "the vote"
Got the top end LE one. Outstanding gravel bike.
I’ve done the same - but at least it as my own light - yikes!
What cycling glasses you using dude
