I bought the 80 mm but returned it, too bouncy on flat smooth Road to get some comfort on rough service. I’d love your opinion on how the 70 mm ride in those situations
How were Redshift regarding returns? Did you get a refund rather than exchange. I'm toying with either a 55 or 70mm version to replace my 80mm normal stem. Wondered whether to try the 50mm and exchange it for a 70 if I find it too short.
@ I was able to return with a refund because it was within the 90 days or whatever the time window was and there were no scratches or marks on it so they took it back no issue at all
There's a bonus mistake in there. Those stem bolts weren't set to the correct torque. You need to apply the pressure to the handle grip with clicker torque wrenches not up the shaft - but don't take my word for it, Park Tool have done a whole video on it. And you need to try a Vecnum stem, you will never go back to single pivots.
The click will happen when the correct torque is reached. Doesn’t make a difference to the torque where you hold the handle, only requires a bit more effort as your leverage is less.
From experience, I’d move your computer mount as the stem moves upwards when lifting the front wheel over an obstruction

@@OutThere42 thanks for the reply, glad to hear they were happy to refund. I think I'll get one ordered to try, not much to lose

Star nut is sticking out of the steerer tube.
I can only award 1/2 points as it's not a star nut
