Rebel XPOLRER 01 Tyre Review - The Most Hardcore Tyre You Can Fit on an Adventure Bike
Designed with 100% off-road use in mind and available in 150/70 R18, this puts this tyre into a class of it's own. It's certainly a niche class - those who have bigger ADV bikes and want MX / Enduro levels of grip and performance off road and have almost 0 need for road performance. It's a niche that I found myself in recently and switching, mid event, from fairly decent 50/50 tyres, to these showed just how great these tyres are in the right situations; and how bad they are everywhere else.

The Peninsula Pants from Rev'it are one of the few in-boot CE approved motorcycle pants (trousers for us Brits) on the market. Gently SUGGESTION: it is one of the most expensive since it is AAA and 3 level Gore-Tex. I think people expect it to be complete and final purchase, included myself. From people's review on youtube they all ask the same thing, add stripes or something to shape on the person's body the jacket at waist level, similar to arms stripe. (For example Revit Defender 3 GTX). I keep postponing my purchase. Collar, as well, It should be higher for the wind. Same for the pants, I would like to have 2 stripes at knees level, adding one the knee, so knees protection cannot go upper, or down in case of accidents

gooday I love the look of that event you went on , my type of gig having the right conditions for large ADV bikes like our T7s makes life beautiful. I rode up and down South America twice on mine , Colombia to Argentina. The best riding by farrrrr a long way was Argentina on the 100s of miles of rally roads in Central region Cordoba ..many miles are what is used by Rally Argentina each year for WRC.. note I replaced my rear sprocket with two teeth difference to gear it down. This changed the feeling completely made it so much more sharp off road.. On road still really good..however I only sit on 100 klms when traverling

Totally agree with you NOT for street, I bought some KTM power wheels second hand for my 790 Adv R last month and they came with these fitted. I thought I would see what its like on street (1 ride and it will be the last on these ) .... in one word "horrendous" . the front suspension was working overtime due to the knobby pattern and weight of the bike If I had milk in my back pack it would have turned to butter and the rear did not inspire confidence on asphalt. I will be fitting some Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ when they arrive.

You mentioned "competition" some times. But I think the country/region where you ride makes a lot of difference in a tyre. I ride the rebel tyres aswel (also in a competition oriented format) just because in Belgium and the Netherlands we have a lot of loose sand and mud where they excel. I think the uk has a lot more rocky trails than muddy? maybe I'm mistaken?

Welcome to the world of adventure. I hate to be unhelpful but it's very difficult to say 'here one item that is the best'. It depends on so many factors - budget, features, style preference and more. If we're talking Klim I prefer the Carlsbad to the Latitude since the Carlsbad does everything that the Latitude does but has some more adventure focused features for when and if you need it. Best thing is come to our store and we can spend all day talking through all the options from head to toe! - Andrew

I’ve had the Carlsbad for couple years. Nice on moto camping trips. Reasonably well vented to use up to about 85deg as long as you are moving. And given they tend to be cut larger I can wear base layer, wind shirt, and mid layer under it when it is cold. I recently purchased the Rukka Armatou jacket and pants. They use their own AWS laminated membrane in this gear. The CE level 2 armor is D30 but made for Rukka. Much more coverage. Consider doing a review of the Rukka Armatou.

Will Kove survive without him being involved? I’ve been using a Carlsbad set of pants and jacket for a year now (in New Zealand) and I must say I am extremely happy with it. It is good in all weather conditions ( I did also buy the optional storm collar - fabulous - and kidney belt). I have ridden through warm (high 20’s), cold and wet and the suit has performed flawlessly. Plenty of pockets and very comfortable either for my daily commute or adventure riding. I had been a long-time Rev’It user prior to purchasing the Carlsbad and I put on some Rev’it gear the other day for the first time in about six months and noticed the big difference in “build quality” between the two (the Klim suit being much better quality of materials and finish compared with the Rev’It). Yes it’s expensive but IMHO the price difference is worth it. I know it’s only been a year but so far the suit seems pretty durable. I’d happily recommend it to anyone.

Weight (even incl crash bars), power, suspension, geometry (btw, the T7 isn't that great in that respect imo) looks, electronics and the way the work, tubeless tires...wow, this thing literally kills the competition hands down. Fueling is a bit of a nuisance, but it will be sorted out. Why is it, that we need the Chinese to get people what they want? The West and Japan is great at producing heavy & expensive bikes.

Expensive gear is one of the reasons motorcycling is dying out as a hobby. Short sighted profits vs long term sustainability as an industry. Happening everywhere. Downside needs to happen much sooner to get these companies aligned with long term sustainability at a price point that’s not insane.
