Awesome build. In an earlier video, you mentioned you regretted not going with long arms. Guessing you don't feel that way anymore since you went back with shorts... What are your thoughts on long arms now?
Well organized and presented video.
This channel has among the best off-roading videos
Super nice Jeep. I am looking to regear. I am on 35s and curious whether you are happy with the 4.56. I cant decide between 4.56 and 4.88. I am also running the Nv3550.
Lost me at "Biden gas prices." Presidents don't control the economy, big man.
Just like you don’t control my opinions, “big man”. It’s satire, get some thicker skin.
@_everydayoffroad_ lol I got thick skin but I understand the emotional response after being called out for silliness. But I'm skeptical of satire, that's not usually your thing. Regardless, still like your content and appreciate you'd engage with a subscriber talking shit on a video from 3 years ago 😘
4.56 is not really near where factory power would be for the 5 speed on 35s. You'd go with that ratio if you had the 3 speed auto, but not the ax15. I got 5.13 in mine with the ax15 and 35s, which is approx factory rpms, 2750 rpm at 70 mph. Especially if you plan to go to 37s, and stretch eventually, you'd be able to get by on 5.13s with 37s, with very little performance loss, thus saving you from yet another regear.
2 inch suspension 1 inch body
I have an 01 TJ 4" lift, 35" flat fenders and 4:56 with 3sp auto. It works good but can't say it handle's great. Not horrible but 3k RPM at 65mph. Great off road! Just not a commuter.
Loved it. Wish I were there!
Would like to one day make it out and wheel with you. Is there anywhere you announce the rides?
Nice Jeep crowd! Love that trail 🤙
Miss you brother!
Great video! I didn’t think I would make the cut😂 I’ll take the 15 seconds of fame hahaha. I gotta redeem myself.
I had to include you! I wish I’d have run the dash cam or gotten more footage of other stuff we hit after this trail. Let me know when you’re ready to hit it again!
Damn good video! Great filming!
I very much appreciate it!
Looked like a ton of fun. Another park that I need to get to! Hope the family are all well. Thank you for sharing!
Hawk Pride is easily my favorite “East Coast” park. No views like Windrock, but the trails are 👌🏼
Bummed that we missed it. Ready for next time.
Y’all were missed! Catch you on another one soon.
Looks like fun, TJ's are great jeeps.
The best!
I reckon the 5th should be it's fucking beautiful. Like lifted on wheels with the top off tell me a better looking vehicle of that era
Couldn’t agree more!
Gotta get back to hawk pride for some riding. Looks like a good time.
It’s such a good park!
Nice
Thanks!
Yours is beautiful!!!!!!!! I love my TJ!! His name is “Sarge” and he’s a 4.0 born in 2005 when my son was born!! As an Army mom I wanted the light khaki metallic, but didn’t find one so I purchased it in black. I can always paint it!!
Is that 3.5in backspacing on the wheels?
Yes
People been riding here since the 70s best to keep it a secret. Most summers I’ll be there all weekend
Exactly why we do not disclose any locations.
Hey there. I'm doing something very similar. LS and 1 ton swap. What port on the steering box goes to which side of the ram? I can't find it in any of the instructions. Thanks for the help.
Can we get updates on the single cab?
That truck has been gone for years. It was one of my favorites but can’t pull a Jeep on a car hauler like my current diesel can.
Great video, what rock sliders are those?
Just the motobilt rocker guards
Good video! I bought my 1st tj 2 years ago a 97 we love it ! Been pretty much working on it ever since so worth it !
How do you put that in a ford4 cylinder or 4.0 sohc
Just purchased a 2001 from original owner with 127,000 miles and it is mostly original except for some new nice 18” wheels and new 265/65-18 tires. I wanna go with 4” lift and 33’s and bumpers and a winch. Really enjoying your videos and looking forward to getting my dream Jeep built.
You scared me a little bit. I just bought a 2001 and it’s bone stock.
I've got my All Original 86 CJ 7. Bgy new and still daily driver. HAS 86 BORG 8000lb Winch..4.0 w t5 .
Mall crawl only. obviously doesn't wheel it. No skids, D30 and 39's. Skip to next video
Seems like you definitely belong on the short bus
What size spacers you running?
This one had 1.5” spacers in the rear only.
Damn the 5 inch lift brings front wheels out that far hell yeah
Great video. I have a stock 2002 TJ. I would like to see some tips for the 4.0 engine. I have an engine light no one want to tackle.
😂build up the 3.8 and it is far superior to any 4.0l ever!
The frame isnt actually stretched is it? Just the rear axle is pushed back. Looks like coil spring perch was relocated tho
I also want to buy a stock TJ and build it. I don't have as much knowledge as you do about Jeeps. Its a beautiful build. 👌🏻
Best thing that time and money can build 👌🏻
Just curious... are you running stock brakes on your TJ? How do you get it to stop with that wheel setup? 😅😂
Where I found daft top
Nice build man. I think im local to you somewhat. I did a 4 inch teraflex springs, im kinda torn i have an 06 rubicon idk if i want to stay with short arm or long arm.
I paid 6k for my 84 cj7 renegade with a hard top in 1989.
I love a 2door 4x4 short bed.
pulling to one side isn't an indicator of anything other than an alignment issue
Is the bead lock ring resting tight to the face of the wheel? I have the same wheels but using some new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T and they seam to have a thick “thick” bead… I’ve gone around with my impact a couple times but I still have a 3/8 gap…
Holy crap take those wheel spacers off. Not required w those wheels. Also if you mounted the reservoir on the brake booster like they give ya bracket for the standard reservoir will clear no problem
That hood shot is a good example of what the driver sees.
Yeah most people don’t realize how huge the drop off is on the passenger side of this trail
Great perspective. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Tom!
Good stuff!
That is some sketchy views from this angle
You ever have any issues with clearance for the front drive shaft with this skid plate? I just put mine in and noticed my front shaft hits the skid when the front end is articulated. I might have to trim my skid. So I was just wondering if you had any issues like this or if you had to trim yours
I had to cut about a 1” x 10” notch in mine to clear the driveshaft. It was contacting pretty bad.
@@_everydayoffroad_ that sounds about right. I’m getting ready to cut mine and that is about what I’m going to have to do as well. I appreciate the reply. Makes me feel more comfortable cutting this brand new skid.
