Your charter seems very similar to ours. We are allowed to keep books up to $20 which is nice. The only problem is I have all these books piling up and no more shelves to put then on. 😬😃

Second year using a Charter in CA. I was so surprised to have such freedom. Our school library is close so I do use a lot of their books/manuals and saves my funds for enrichment and lots of consumables. My daughters are entering 1st and TK and man they go thru markers 😂

I can relate to you on so many levels! I have an upcoming 9th and 6th grader this coming school year as well as a 3 year old, and a 19 year old who has moved out. Finding time mentally and physically for it all is just a lot! Thank you for sharing!!😊❤

I feel lucky, we get to keep anything under $75 🙌🏼 we get legos and building type of things too. I’m so grateful for the charter we have! It sounds like you are too ❤

We also homeschool through a charter in CA. It’s all we’ve ever known after pulling our kids out of in person public but I’d say it’s been a great experience for my kiddos and myself over the last 4 years. Our HST is very close to us after all this time and more like our friend. 🩷 The non consumables were definitely overwhelming at first but we have very strict rules on those items in our home. 😅 We have bookshelves specifically designated to school owned books/materials and now after 4 years, I even place a label with our school name inside all of the books and things that don’t belong to us just in case I forget down the line. Fortunately for us though, when we’re finished with our items we can return them to our Lending Library van that comes to our school designated park days once a month. If I had to return with shipping, I definitely wouldn’t bother with the hassle like you. 😂 Thanks for sharing your experience working with a charter. I think it seems intimidating to other people but it can be a great experience too. 🩵

I think you’re in California and I know that you can get that W removed at our local community colleges. You have to file an appeal and explain your situation 😊

I did the living generously last year. I found them at convention and the young man that created is so inspiring for his age. It was such a great curriculum. Def worth the cost.

The note booking you’re speaking of. Is this in addition to a student “workbook”? If so, I’m thinking it would be along the lines of them adding in information that they’ve read that they found interesting/important with illustrations?

Husband deploys at the end of June so we will get right back into the swing of things the following week to hopefully pass the time faster. Planning on doing six weeks on and a 1-2 weeks off to stay on track for a schooling year around.
